Great studio and gallery! The classes are excellent. This is the place I go to for clay and equipment.
Vince and his staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They can assist hobbyists and full time potters alike. The selection of supplies is great and if they dont have it, they can order in almost anything you need.Beyond that they have a great selection of work made right in house, making it a great stop for handmade presents all year!
The Potters Shop has a great variety of supplies for potters and ceramic artists. They are always fully stocked with a variety of clay bodies, glazes, tools, kiln shelves, kiln parts, risers and stilts. A one stop shop for what I need and worth the drive from Milwaukee. More than just a shop, it features a gallery and offers classes/ memberships in its spacious, well lit, ceramics studio. The owner is pleasant and knowledgeable.
Excellent space for artists who like working in clay. They have all of the tools and equipment you need. Spacious studio area with wheels, a slab roller, clay extruder and several kilns for firing. There is a gallery space to buy pottery as well as a nice selection of clay and glazes. The staff is great, and the prices are very reasonable.
Vince is very knowledgeable about kilns clay and glazes, and has helped me many times. He has great tools clay and glazes. Excellent customer service.
Had a great experience here tonight! Thought that it was a reasonable price. Instructor was awesome and always willing to help!
Great selection, knowledgeable staff, great prices! My go to clay shop. It is worth the hour long drive when I need stock up.
Had a good time! Fun class, try one. Much harder than I thought it was going to be. Still had a good time.
I was a new customer to the Potters Shop and my first encounter was a horrible experience. I was super excited about placing the 50lb clay order with them online. I made my purchase on a Sunday night and received an email the following Monday stating that the item was out of stock but that It would be delivered before the end of that week and I would receive a phone call when delivered to the store. Ok no problem! I call Wednesday to check on the status of the order and it wasn’t in. I called back Thursday and the guy tells me on the phone he had tracked the shipment and it would be delivered on Friday morning. I asked him to call me when it came in and if I could pick it up after 5pm on Friday because I work in Milwaukee. He assured me that would be fine. Friday comes and I call at 5pm to make sure the order was there and ready for pick-up. After 3 calls and a voicemail left, still no response. I call Saturday morning at 11am and speak to a guy that tells me the shipment arrived later than expected on Friday but still during business hours and no one got to it. No one called me Saturday morning stating the clay was delivered and this guy tells me basically if I don’t still want the clay because I was dissatisfied with the level of customer service I could just have my money back. This is not how business should be conducted and being a “small family owned business” does not absolve your establishment from providing great customer service, owning your mistakes and doing the right things to make the customer feel like their concern mattered at the end of the day. I am offended and believe that since I hadn’t purchased some large $100+ order, it was no major concern to rectify the situation by that staff member. I HIGHLY recommend not patronizing the Potters Shop.
This place is fantastic! It has a large teaching studio and pottery gallery with many handmade pieces to choose from. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable. I bought a beautiful coffee mug for my wife as a gift and she adores it. Ill be back for Christmas!
I took a pottery class where I got to make various pottery items. I was excited to get my pottery which I had wasted time and money on. When it was finally time to get my pottery, some imbecile at the shop said that they didn’t have my pottery because someone else had picked it up. I never got my pottery. That was a while ago, and I’m still mad. I would not recommend it to anyone ever.
Called about a piece of pottery I was looking for. Asked how late theyre there during the week, employee told me 530. I came on Monday. Turns out theyre closed on Monday. Half my fault for not reading online first, but I think its half theirs for not telling me when I asked about their hours during the week. Also their store says 5 and online says 5, but he told me 530, maybe longer for the holidays but idk that Id trust that. Disappointed, I drove a long way.
I love this place. Brings back memories of the feel of clay. Really want to get in touch with my artistic side again and this is just the place for it. You can create or buy.
I buy all of my pottery supplies here. They have a great selection. I usually have a lot of questions about glazes and the owners know all of the answers!
Super cute place, excellent service and beautiful hand made gifts.
