I was the Business Manager at the Fischer Creative Arts Center for over 3 years starting in July, 2015. I came up with the idea to start this art center to help struggling artists find an inexpensive place to rent to practice their artform. I then presented the idea to the owner of the building. He liked it and said he would back me with the financial needs. He gave me the keys and shook my hand and said go to it. I asked a couple of friends, who were in my band at the time, to join in with me. They were construction contractors so I thought they would be a perfect fit. So much for trusting friends. It went downhill after that. They were the maintenance management team and they had other ideas and decided they wanted to run the whole business by themselves. So they devised a way to have me leave. I tried to do my job but they lied about things to the tenants and withheld information from me that came from the tenants to make it harder for me to run the business. They told the owner lies about me. That and more. I created all of the advertising and promotion for the art center. I created all the necessary documents and contracts. I kept the place full of tenants. The tenants were happy with the way I was running the business. They both told me and wrote me emails telling me so. Then maintenance decide they wanted me out. They wanted the place for themselves. I personally would never trust them again. My experience with them was absolutely horrendous. I started this business myself and invited them to join in. They took advantage of me and wanted me removed. They wanted it for themselves. I have no love loss for them and I urge you to avoid this place. In my opinion they are a selfish lot with no compunction to taking what they want. I finally resigned after over 3 years as BusinessManager, October 17, 2019 and am now letting others know of my involvement with them. I would give them no stars here but it does not go that low. Please be careful when dealing with them. They are bigots, racists and anti-gay too, among other things. I am not a disgruntled employee. I came up with the idea for this business because I wanted to help struggling artists. Power sure does corrupt. Stay away from this place. Its not worth it. I dont care about the people who dont know me that have listened to the negative things being said about me and have a negative opinion about me. The people who know me are the ones who believe me and to me, thats all that matters. The idea of starting the art center was good, some of the people involved with it werent.

Very interesting place, old brewery converted to house arts and other types of businesses. Lots of cool architecture near this location

My granddaughter(age 7) is taking an acrylic painting class here. The teacher is so patient and creative. My granddaughter cant wait for class on Fridays, and the work they do is amazing. Terrific way to introduce kids to the arts and encourage their creativity.
