Was there earlier this week. Absolutely terrible customer service! Never met a more sexist, condescending and rude adult noverty shop manager. Why would anyone spend more there again when pratically everything can be bought on the internet cheaper?!
I love this place for all my ESSENTIAL needs... Why is it closed?! This business should be deemed essential dammmmit.

I forgot what the girls name was but so friendly!!! She has a septum piercing and shorter dark brown hair. She was of great help to my girlfriend when needing help with a purchase and did above and beyond what any worker is expected to do. She was very knowledgeable about their glasses collections and blew us away with how much she knew. The nicest staff ever, and not pressuring when we took forever in the shop. We will be coming back here always, this is the store to go to!!!!!
Not happy with my visit today. Usually we are treated with respect and patience, but today this bigger lady, brunette, and tall (unsure of name) dismissed the gentleman infront of us when ID were required. Had to go through 3 of my IDs because the first 2 werent to her satisfaction (first was voided, 2nd was expired, yet never have an issue anywhere else) Went to try on a few bras and the gentleman wasnt sure if that was allowed but he was patient and soon let me into the bathroom to change. As soon as I finished I hung all 4 bras back up on their hangers and placed them on a hook in the bathroom, (was not instructed to hand them to anyone so naturally I placed them on a rack in the bathroom) not 3 seconds after I got out the bigger lady accused me of taking the bras. She did not look in the bathroom, she right away saw I wasnt purchasing any and proceeded to accuse me of theft. She asked me where I planned on putting the bras I tried on and I told her I put them on a hook back in the bathroom. She was rude and not professional. Next time we come here we will immediately turn away if we see her working and come back after her shifts up. We deserve more respect than that. Paying customers $$$, what do you think?
You guys hella rock! Ive been coming here since I turned 18 and I get the greatest service. I highly recommend! The girl with blue hair, Amber, is the best! Always has the best recommendations!

Third time here not happy with customer service. Have had no problem with trying outfits sadly today seemed to be an issue. Will take buiness elsewhere .
Most of these reviews sound like people mad that the store employees wouldnt break the law for them.I have been going to this store for over six years. the staff is always friendly and willing to help when they can.
Great place
So my group of myself and 3 others came in tonight. We spent about a half hour picking things out to buy. We are coming to the end and are ready to spend $350+ when I asked what one of the objects were. My boyfriend referred to it as a joint holder and we were immediately told we could no longer purchase it or anything else in the store. I get there are rules, but A) the girl was super rude the entire time. B) we are obviously good paying customers. C) There were no warnings what so ever. Definitely will not be ever going back there.
Love going here. The employees are always so nice and about customer service.
I have been going to City News and Video for 5 years and have shopped in all departments and have always found something I was looking for or could be useful. CSRs are very knowledgeable. Very professional and espeically CLEAN here, and the manager is always available Monday through Friday to answer any questions or concerns. Very nice lady, works with you. Love the smoke shop department, has a huge variety of different glass pieces. CSRs that I have worked with have always ask me if I was familiar with the return policy and went over it, then showed me how to enroll in any available warranties thru manufacturer. Super cute clothing section as well :)! They are also great with letting you see any novelty product youre considering for purchase to make sure it works correctly. Every day they have a different deal too so thats cool.Anyone who is trying to return a gift should be happy they got it in the first place in my opinion. If youre trying to return a gift just because you dont like it, you may have other problems lol. Every retail store is different with their policies, and they dont make the rules. Probably best to go to district manager if you want to try and fight policies. Which City News has a grievance form if your needs werent met.
I understand that a store has policies that must be followed. I respect that on some level....HOWEVER One day after purchasing an item for over 100.00 it didnt work. It was faulty. Dead... I called the store immediately and there was noone available to talk to. I called the next day again and explained that my item was dead and couldnt be activated. This was one day after I bought it. The girl I talked to offered me no help at all....NO REFUND AND THATS FINAL...even though it was sold the day before and absolutely useless. Luckily I wrote to the distributor at AFG Sunday evening and they had a new one in the mail for me on Monday. Now thats customer service. AFG Distribution for the Pulsar 7. I thought it would take weeks to get any exchanges but they were a pleasure to deal with.... BUYER BEWARE...if you are going to shop at City News & Video be careful when purchasing anything that has to be charged etc. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN....Hope this helps you out. I wish I had read these reviews before I ever stepped foot in that store. I have researched this store and review after review talks about poor customer service.
Rude people. Sell you wrong products half the time
Decent place to go to if nowhere else is open in the middle of the night, if you can deal with the guy behind the counter talking and acting like a stereotypical hippie
If you dont follow their suggestion and ask for more depth you will be told to leave.
