Waukegan Harbor Light

Great view, watching the waves crash out on the lighthouse. Gorgeous sunrise. Lots of fishers and beautiful water. I completely felt safe even though people decided to graffiti the walkway. Stop for ice cream at the Cedar Chest snack shop nearby and live music at Green Town. Though between you and me, last night was a little rough on the ears....lol. But everyone has dreams to chase, so play on.

One of my favorite spots to take pictures in Waukegan. I’ve been coming to the lighthouse for 14 years.

This place is wonderful to go for a walk. Or to go swimming.

Great little view spot. You get a nice overview of Waukegan from here. You can also see Chicago out in the distance on a clear day or at night. A lot of foot traffic in warm weather. The walkway itself could use some work in some areas. Theyre a certain section thats beat up with holes and cracked pavement so youll need to watch your step. Theres also some neat snack shops by the harbor entrance so you can eat some snacks and ice cream while you walk. Its definitely one of the better spots in Waukegan.

Great for looking at birds, waves and relaxation. No swimming rocks are slippery and there are lots of bird droppings. Watch where you step.

Nice light house with a lot of history. Unfortunately vandals have ruined it with there senseless graffiti and garbage laying all over. And whoever paints over it obviously cleans there rollers on the pier. Very sad. Not worth the walk.

Different looking lighthouse. Nice walk and fun to experience the fog rolling off the lake and across our feet.
