Wauconda Park District

Nice little park with picnic tables & benches for seating, pavilion and some trees for shade. Sand volleyball area as well as baseball diamond and playground for kids to play on. Bathrooms were clean.

Clean, it gives you basic needs of fitness and losing weight

I have been coming to this gym about a month and a half, and I am very impressive about Brandon G. He is very cheerful, helpful, cordial and always receive me with a smile and a greeting. As a customer, I appreciated it. Highly satisfied ! Keep doing that great job Brandon.

We fish on the docks of of main street. Great place.

Its not the same place as wakonda in black panther. We learned that the hard way.

Best Gym Ever! Brandon G. He is such a good person and hard-worker, everytime i walk-in he is always being so kind with everyone and also he is always keeping the place clean!

Clean and well kept up

Great staff and programs! A real asset to the people of Wauconda.

They do not plow and salt very well. If visiting during the winter it is easy to slip and fall and if you were in a wheelchair forget being able to get around.

Nice park, spacious, but not a lot of amenities

The work out facility is convenient and not at all crowded in the early afternoon.

This is a solid facility for a town like Wauconda. The only downside is the incredibly rude woman that works the front desk. You would think that as a public employee whose position is funded with taxpayer money she would just be a little more pleasant to the members of the community.

Its easy to workout with the other members. The place is low key and never overcrowded. You dont feel pressured to bulk up fast. So its great for people who arent already hyper fit. Play your own routine to measure your progress. This gym has all the equipment needed for basic training.

The pro for joining this health club facility is the price. You cant find a lower price in this area. The outside surroundings have a paved path for walking, bike riding and in-line skating. I have been able to get some nice photos in this area.The cons are that the fitness center is dominated by a group of weightlifters who grunt very loudly, and slam their heavy weights on the floor making a lot of noise. Members call them the grunters. The grunters bring their bags into the gym, and leave them where other people need to use the equipment. Lockers are provided for personal belongings. Dropping heavy weights on the floor and bringing unnecessary personal items into the workout area is against the facilitys policies, but the rules are not enforced. The staff overlooks the grunters breaking the rules. The grunters also insist upon listening to hard rock music which is very distracting and irritating. I was told that the policy is to play adult contemporary music. That does not happen. The grunters have free reign over the gym causing many other members to leave without renewing their membership. The grunters use multiple pieces of equipment at the same time, and save equipment by leaving a personal item on the equipment. Why a small group of grunters have been allowed to take over this fitness facility is beyond me.The bottom line is there are policies in place that are not being enforced. If they were enforced, the facility would be appealing to more people. The low membership fee is not incentive enough to renew my membership.
