Took my 4 year old to toddler time. We had a great time. He got to hear a story, touch a snake, and did a sensory craft that went along with the topic. There was time to roam around and play with the experiments. I love that its during the week.

Very interesting, there was many hands on activities for children. Activities for all ages. They had demonstrations with reptiles when we visited. The staff was very friendly and en encouraged participation. It was a bit dated but science is science and there was opportunities for children to learn. The gift shop was great and fairly inexpensive.

This place is such a blast! Took our adult children and they acted like kids again. It was time well spent.

This is my second time at the Imaginarium. Both times Ive gone the place has been not very clean and a bit smelly. It is a fun place to take kids because of the various activities they can do and the little science shows they provide. But if some time and effort could be in to put into sprucing the place up I would recommend it.

So much potential but I suspect that funding is the missing component. Some displays are great and some seem to be missing pieces. Little kids will still enjoy it.

My kid and I enjoyed this place. It is a little small but it is packed with activities. I like that a very large percentage of the center is hands on. This helped my kid stay engaged.

So fun. I take my 8 year old nephew on a fairly regular basis. Fun exhibits to help children learn about various scientific principles. Demonstrations as well.

Great place to learn about the Waterloo area and how Iowa contributed to all of the wars. The science museum is a good place for children to learn hands on and to burn off some energy. The Victorian house is beautiful. A great area to spend part of a day.

We drove an hour to get here and it wasnt worth the trip. Close to half of their displays were not working. It could have been nicer with better up keep.

Midweek ignore the parking signs and go with your gut and park closer.A few sign posts directing you to the entrance would be nice.Im comparing this to the childrens museum in Coralville, and yes it is smaller with a lot less exhibits. There are a lot of big display type exhibits which offer little interaction. There are a lot of snakes. The kids (3 and 5) liked it. The 3 year old daughter was quickly bored. My 5 year old son found it more interesting and was happy building robots.I think older kids would find it more interesting.

Great small town science center. Their displays are in good repair and very interactive. My kids love it there.

Entire place felt dated -- many of the displays seemed decades old -- black and white, grainy video about early days of flight, etc. Many of the interactive displays didnt work or were turned off. There was a lot if empty space, and many of the animal enclosures were just food, water, and animals. No decorations or enrichment for the animals. Considering this is a special tax district, and charges $5 it was a bit barren. I had fond memories of this place from my childhood, and am a little sad it has not been upkept.

They put in a good effort, but the cost of admission is not worth the 20 minutes of stuff they have to do. Desperately in need of remodeling.

My sons favorite exhibit that we drove an hour to see the electric shock machine was closed. Also there was several hours between science shows, so we didnt see one of those either

Kids really enjoyed it. As another review said, if you are there early or midweek, park behind it for a closer walk.
