We stayed here for one night in fall of 2020. Truly amazing place to witness the view of sunlight in the early morning and fall colors. It has washroom with hotwater. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. However, showering does cost extra money. 4 min for 2 quarters, 8 min for 4 quarters and so on. The best part is you get shades for installing your ️ tent, so its safe when it rains. Nearby water supply to every camping site for washing. Very pleasant Environment suitable for family and group of friends. Please check out this place, you wont regret.

I enjoyed a two night stay at Little River State Park campground. Good staff, good sites, good shower facilities. I liked that there was a town nearby but not so close as to be noisy. The campground is quiet and feels smaller than it is. The beach and boat ramp are good. The lake is beautiful.

This campground is everything you could ever want in a state run park. Its gorgeous and heavily wooded, situated on the shores of the Waterbury Reservoir. Most sites have waterfront views and some even have water access. They sell firewood and ice (block and cubed). If you have exact change you can help yourself any time of day. Super friendly staff, very helpful. This is now my go to car camping park in Vermont.

Little River was a fantastic camping place! You can buy firewood and ice from the site. Each camp site has its own fire pit, many have a grate to make grilling or cooking over the fire easier. We were in spot 51 that had a really pretty view of the water but we were kinda close to neighbors on each side. Would definitely return to camp again. Theres so many trail hiking options as well.

Took my students on a field trip today, and it was amazing! The park rangers set up a fun hike in the beautiful historic trails. The trails were interconnected and looped back to the parking lot. The students were so engaged in the hike and the tree i.d. scavenger hunt, I was free to enjoy it with them without having to say a thing about negative behavior. I would definitely recommend the park for individual and school visits.

A wonderful and pristine place to camp with your family. Its very well laid out and the restroom facilitys are kept clean. You can buy firewood on the grounds and the staff are very helpful. The beach area and the boat launch areas are very good. Just a caution to familys with young children. Recomend you stay away from section A, cliff area as there is a steep 75 ft drop to the reservoir at these campsites. Ask at the front gate when you check in.

Great campground. We stayed in Fisher cabin for 2 nights at the end of May and were very pleased. The only fly in the ointment was the washrooms - with a full campground and only 1 functioning toilet in the ladies and the same in the mens, things were a bit gross despite the staffs best efforts. Seems plumbers dont work on Sundays. Other than that and the cold showers, we enjoyed our stay

Washrooms were not the nicest (except the new one), windows open with no screen so plenty of bugs - door hard to lock in the stalls. Some maintenance and small mods could make them a lot better. Secluded private sites and lots greenery. I enjoyed my trip.

It is over 3 miles on a dirt road full of pot holes to get there. So dont plan on having cell phone reception. The campground wasnt horrible. You do have to pay to shower. $.25 per 4 minutes. Kids park is very small and plain. Staff was friendly. Made me aware that they have had bear sightings. We didnt see any. The sites were plenty big enough and not too close to your neighbors.

Best state park. Best. Cabins are particularly nice, and each of the car camping spots feel private and wild, despite being numerous. The History Hike is a favorite, and the Stevenson Brook Trail has some really cool water and rocks. The springtime high water is pretty impressive as well, and makes for tough crossings where required and where no bridge is present.

Hiked only. The trail we were on was in good condition even though it was not blazed . Drove around the campsites and made us want to camp again. This place is pretty awesome, though around the rivers, it can get very buggy. Employees were very friendly. FYI, It does take awhile to get to this park from the main road even though it is only 3 miles off it, it’s mostly a dirt road.

Glad we went.Theyve done impressive work on drainage. I was thinking it would be a fine place to go after substantial rain, not thinking of the rain I knew was coming. Other places Ive been to, I know I wouldve woken up in a puddle.I wouldnt recommend fishing without a power boat. Basically all the banks are incredibly steep. I fished them, but it looked and felt like I was about the only one who ever did. And there was enough wake from power boats that it seemed like a canoe would not be fun. And Im pretty sure I was not there for peak power boat season. The place is apparently well known for its wildflowers, so it was disappointing that it was planted with invasives.Noise from other campers was really remarkably tolerable.

The nicest state campground we have been to, comparing to many midwest and Colorado sites. Beautiful fall views of the lake or even the interior forest areas. Sites are separated from each other. Bathroom was close and clean and available. Hiking to historic farming sites was very good. Mountain biking single track flow routes were outstanding. Also the lake is big and beautiful and there is a swimming beach as well as a place to launch your own small water craft. Close to town so a good option if you want to eat out a lot.

Little River State Park is near Waterbury, Vermont. I checked this place out when the State had a free state park weekend, (no charge to enter for the day). So I went in with my bike and rode the mountain bike trails. access is from the History Hike trailhead.(you get a map when you enter the park).I took Stonewall trail up the side of the mountain to Bear Lane, took a side trip out and back on Ricker Farm trail(this was a mistake, but what a nice trail! I recommend it anyway). then hook back up with the Dalley Loop trail (big doubletrack for the hikers) up a short ways to Hillfarmer. This brings you down the trail to Highbridge, which is the whole point of your ride: This trail is amazing. A Monster downhill flow trail with sexy curved berm turns, twists and turns all the way back to Dalley Loop and the parking lot. This ride may be done a few different ways, but this is the way I did it.If you really want to re-enact my day, then be sure to stop in after your ride at Stone Corral in Richmond Vt. afterwards for a fine beer and lunch. Excellent plan.

Vermont state parks are all awesome. This one distinguishes itself by its mtb trail (yes there is only one but 25 min ride up and UNBELIEVABLE 5min rollercoaster ride down, on par with many too trails in the US), its beaches, its proximity to Waterbury which has great restaurants, beer and quaint VT style. No cell signal or wifi which is a huge pain but I digress.

They charged us $5 a day extra for our 5 year old! I understand charging for more than 4 people when there are hook ups, but this camp is primitive. At $27 a night it is way over priced. The road in was steep and pretty much off roading. The turns were really tight in the camp and I wouldnt bring a rug longer than 24 feet in. The trail we hiked was mediocre, just like this state park. We will not be returning.

This review would have 5 stars if not for an encumbering park employee who was quite rude and assumptive during our visit over the weekend. He approached me with a rude look and asked if I had dumped trash on the trash bin earlier in the morning instead of on it. We werent camping, only hiking, and had just gotten there and taken a dip in the reservoir. He said I looked like someone who would do that. He then asked me what campsite I was at, as if he didnt believe me or was going to be watching me. Incredibly petulant behavior by someone to people who were just trying to enjoy the outdoors. We have a hard enough time as it is to get people into the wild and outdoor spaces, we ought to not make it harder by creative negative experiences for people by power hungry employees.
