Fantastic work framing a magazine cover & article! The owner was very friendly and recommended a nice combination of colors for the frame & mat that turned out looking better than what I was initially envisioning. They were able to cleanly cut the article and the magazine cover from the full issue and matted and framed it very elegantly. I liked that they only offer high quality frames and UV filtering glass to prevent fading. I will certainly return to this shop for any additional framing needs. Theres also a wonderful art gallery here as well!

Im so happy with my experience at Artful Framing & Gallery and would like to share it.I had never gotten anything framed before and wanted to get some vintage uncut sheets of cards framed. They are quite fragile and I didnt want anything to happen to them. I went to two frame shops before Artful Framing. The first seemed ok but didnt blow me away and the second I would never entrust something important with. I was really hoping that Artful Framing would work out. I was immediately impressed when I went in. The owner is an artist, very professional, and friendly. He had several framed pieces waiting to go out and they looked incredibly sharp.I explained that I hadnt gotten anything framed before and he walked me through the options. There was no pressure at all and the price he quoted was outstanding. I upgraded the glass pane for my favorite one of the three to museum glass-- and I love the way it turned out. It is the middle one in the picture with three sheets, and is also featured with its own close-up picture. Its truly like the glass isnt there at all.Incredible framing job and price for large, over-sized, old and fragile items. I am glad I will not have to think about where to go next time I need something framed. Ill just head here.Thank you for the great experience!

They are so good at helping you choose the right frame and mat. They were especially helpful when I had artwork which had been damaged in shipping - they replaced the glass after cleaning the painting carefully, and rebuilt the damaged frame.

I have had numerous pieces framed here over the years and the service is great. Dilip always has great mat/frame ideas and I always trust his judgment when he encourages me to choose something more interesting than what I had in mind. The only time I didnt like the end result he redid both pieces without question. I recently had some issues with an order & he redid it 4 or 5 times, again without question, even offered a full refund, and ended up delivering it after covid hit. Ill certainly go back for any future framing needs.

Weve been here a number of times for framing. Chief among which was my wifes 200 year old sampler. Weve had fantastic service every time, and were at the point where we pretty much just follow their framing recommendations. Their work is very thoughtful and intentional. For example, they preserved the original backing of the sampler with the names of all the women in the family back to 1818 in a special pouch design. I 100% would recommend this place for both the smallest jobs and the most important ones.

I gave Artful Framing what I know was a huge challenge...a map to frame that is 5x8 feet. Unusually large and I know it caused the owner some unexpected challenges. He did a GREAT job figuring out how to make it work, with no drama. He even helped me secure it in the back of my pickup when it was time to take it away. All for a very good price. And the owner is also a cool dude who plays bass guitar and has a great painting of his mom above the counter. Wouldnt go elsewhere.Tom

Artful Framing helped me honor my first real, grown up art purchase by framing it beautifully. I had a great experience overall and LOVE the final product. The staff were helpful, and Dilep (the owner) was just so nice. Takoma Park was celebrating Art Scape when I went to pick up my piece, and Dilep was so welcoming to everyone in the space. Somehow, we began talking about Ethiopian cuisine and he gave me a bottle of berbere sauce...which was AMAZING.Anyway — I joined their mailing list and received an email announcing their first wine and paint event, so I signed myself and a friend up. It was such a beautiful and relaxing experience. The staff is so helpful and supportive and they aren’t too rigid with instruction. In fact, it’s more like supportive guidance. You are encouraged to interpret the featured painting as opposed to replicate it perfectly. You can also just paint whatever your heart desires.About a year later, I signed my mother and sister up for another wine and paint night, and it was even more relaxing and enjoyable. Everyone was encouraged to pick any piece in the gallery that they were inspired by and Dilep would circulate the room giving compliments and helpful advice. It’s just such an amazing atmosphere and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to have an enjoyable Friday evening with unpretentious art lovers that just want to paint, sip wine, snack on yummy food, and dance to the most amazing playlist (and sometimes live guitar/piano performances by the owner and friends)!!

Wonderful experience! I brought several things to Artful Framing - original photos to be framed and a Chinese scroll that needed a custom lucite box with a frame - very tricky. Dilip was masterful. I was prompted to post this, since I received a Facebook survey, and meant to do this for a long time.I cant say enough great things about this place, and Dilip.My saga began when I took a limited edition lithograph by Hirschfeld (I collect them), to Michaels for matting and framing. You get what you pay for. When I picked it up, there were pencil marks. The manager did try to rectify, but needless to say I was furious. These things aint cheap, and are an investment.I cant even remember how I found Artful Framing, but when I took it over there, Dilip was very familiar with Hirschfeld, and its value. He cleaned it up beautifully, and the recommendations for the matting, glass and frame were amazing. Sold! Customer for life.As I said, I have invested in these, and have since taken 4 others over for framing. Each time, his eye is amazing.I will say this is not like buying a frame from CVS, but if you have artwork of value, it costs some, but, again, you get what you pay for.His pricing is very fair for the quality, he gives you realistic time frames, and always on time delivery.Not to mention, he is a gem to work with, and a very talented artist in his own right.I have sent several referrals his way, and each one to a person was impressed, and another customer for life.
