The Backstop is such a wonderful place for female softball players of all different levels. After years of going to batting facilities geared toward boys and baseball, its a breath of fresh air going to a place designed specifically for girls. Its bright, roomy and features great training equipment...not to mention great instructors who are all so positive and knowledgeable. My daughter has been going to Emily for three years now and has grown so much as a pitcher with Emilys guidance. I would highly recommend to anyone who loves the game and wants to get better.

We are thrilled with our experience at The Backstop. Emily and the rest of the coaches offer top notch instruction in a great facility. It’s wonderful to have access to instruction and clinics at a softball-only facility run by former college players. My daughter has progressed considerably and benefited from strong female role models.

My girls have been training at The Backstop and absolutely love it. The Backstop team is an extremely positive group. My girls have specifically worked with Emily and Haley. Both instructors find unique fun ways to motivate them while also helping them learn and improve. The instructors have been very helpful in dealing with our crazy always changing schedules as well. Besides the great training facility, I think the Backstop is extremely welcoming whether it’s your first lesson or your 50th. The Backstop is also CLEAN which is definitely not the norm for this type of facility from what I’ve seen.

The Backstop is a great softball training facility. From private lessons, to group clinics, to fun hittrax tournaments, they offer everything a young player (and her parents) could ask for. Besides being extremely knowledgeable, the women of The Backstop are also excellent role models. Coach Emily always has the right things to say to motivate my daughter, and to help her see and work towards her potential. The Backstop ladies have been instrumental in making my daughter the player she is today, and I cannot imagine being on this journey anywhere else!

The Backstop is one of the best training facility’s for fast pitch softball in the state of Rhode Island and possibly New England. The level of experience can’t be matched anywhere else. All coaches are former college players and played at high levels there whole lives. There so good with the kids and push them to do there best while ensuring they have fun. You can definitely tell the difference in the girls who come here and how fast their progressing on the field. The hittrax system is state of the art and is such a huge training aid, if you haven’t tried it then your missing out. I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for lessons or just a lane to practice in. The prices are very reasonable and lower than other facilities I’ve been too.

Love this place! Best indoor softball facility in the northeast! Coaches are top of the line very interactive and knowledgable. Cant wait to go back :)

Emily is a-maz-ing. She is the driving force and owner of Backstop. With years of collegiate play experience and coaching under her belt and many years of one on one coaching with pitchers and other position player, she can take your child to the next level. I would give her six stars if I could.
