Beautiful treat to accidentally stumble upon after being on a 7 week lockdown. It’s a sunflower bloom that happens only once a year. I’d try in Spring season between April and May. These were seen on May 6th.
Its located on East side of the road of Honoapiilani Highway (Hwy 30) between Hwy 380 and The King Kamehameha Golf Club entrance.Theres no address number to locate the gated entrance where you could park your car while you get close to the field. Its best to park on East side of Hwy 30 oppose to across the field on Hwy 30. Crossing Honoapiilani Hwy on foot is rather dangerous (no crosswalk here). This is not an officially open to public field as a tourist destination, but once you see it while driving by you would want to stop and take a few photos. Please be mindful about not stopping short to park your car as its a busy road for locals who may not realize that youd pull over along the road all of sudden.Be respectful as not to drive your vehicle pass the metal gate (swing open) and park near the gate without blocking the entrance for the employee. This is a beautiful field to admire. I recommend anybody visiting Maui and want to do something less tourists oriented sightseeings for a change.I was told by a local that growing sunflowers are the experimental farming for biodiesel production as sugarcane farming is no longer viable.
Super duper tourist place to take pictures. Get some of your best Maui pictures here!
Reporting that on 2/25/2020 there were no sunflowers. Field look freshly tilled. Will have to come back and see the sunflowers next time. :(#sadpanda
No parking or walking into the fields allowed. But some people dont know better
Amazing. So pretty. What a fun surprise
I think this is seasonal. Maybe look into when the sunflowers are in season because when we went in October, there were nothing. We did see some sunflowers at the Lavander Garden though.
As of March 9, 2020 there were no sunflowers to be seen, just an empty field. Hopefully a local can report when they can be seen!
Food is good.
Really cool but beware, what ever you wear little stickers will be on your clothes. Dont let loose fitting dresses blow and touch flora. Very pretty to see
The location on Google Maps is wrong! Maps took us to the plantation, but its actually a lot further down on the other side of the road (near the entrance to highway 380). You cant miss it on the road, itll be on your left driving down. I dropped by in late April and the flowers werent really in bloom so it was rather underwhelming. Worth dropping by if youre driving down anyway, but not necessarily worth the drive just to see it.
Short lived flowers were beautiful.
Reviews say Google diections are wrong and they are and when you call for help they connect you to a voicemail. Frustrating.
PSA: do not trespass on private property.Secondly, this is the wrong location.
Great food and friendly staff
Who could ask for more than a Sunflower field!
They seriously could charge admission for this place and nobody would mind it is a must-see! They definitely need more signs to let people know to turn right off the airport road instead of left towards the West Coast otherwise youll never see it
They are so beautiful. Take great pictures
Great for photography
Sooooo prettttty
Needs more sun flowers
As of March ‘18 there is no sunflowers to be seen. Probably out of season.
Not quite full grown.
Beautiful fields and background.
No longer here.
