Awesome time. Nice employees. Caught a perfect summer weather day to go. Price was doable. Will be back soon and every summer after.
We had such a great time here the earlier you get there the less crowded. The staff was very nice and pretty helpful! The lazy river is awesome I did not try the slides, they look too crazy for me
My husband and I had a wonderful time at BSR surf. The staff was really friendly and we especially appreciated Dakotas flexibility to work with us on adjusting our reservation. It was an awesome experience and we will definitely be back next time we are in the area!
Mother Nature tried to ruin our first experience... my son’s beginner session cancelled but thankfully husband’s intermediate was just delayed. Bonus points to Brian and surf staff, very friendly and understanding. We received a voucher for the missed hour but they let him practice in the small wash of the expert time slot. We’ll be back.
Wish we would have gone earlier in the season to enjoy the water festivities, but it was a nice getaway amid this COVID craze!!
Had fun and place in nice...but I would not recommend bringing a long board for the intermediate class... (7ft or less imo)
This place is awesome. Insane waves on tap. Laid-back atmosphere and they are always improving the facility.
Amazing fun place. Staff was super nice too. Highly recommended. I will be back! Surfing was really fun. Overall great wave.
What a fun spot. Very clean grounds, we were able to leave out stuff on the picnic tables, no one messed with our belongings. We did the lazy river, it is stated to be the worlds longest,im not debating that but it didnt seem overly long. The royal flush were 4 long slides that land you in a pool. The vip section was super fun looking, the wave pool had people surfing on some pretty great waves. The cable board spot looked fun also. We will go back, I want to check out the vip section
Family fun and tons of fun. No judgement here, come as you are and enjoy the company. Oh and NOOOOO GLASS!
We had a blast. We also want to thank the staff for taking really good care of us and being so patient and making sure we got to our car safely...
Great time!!! Felt like Hawaii in Waco. The session went by too fast.
First time Ive ever been excited in a wavepool! Hands down best experience ever in the middle of Texas! The best bang for your buck, worth every penny!!! Cant wait to get back and do it again!
So much fun here. Been a few times already . Staff are all super nice. Finally learned to surf too.
While the surfing is great, the amenities and safety are severely lacking. Upon entering, Guests’ bags are subject to inspection by surly security guards who are not following state mandated Covid safety guidelines. No masks, gloves or distancing. Other park employees are randomly wearing masks and occasionally practicing safe distances. I never saw anyone cleaning or sanitizing any common areas or Surfaces. Bathrooms are out of order and you have to use a mobile trailer restroom. For the amount you have to pay to surf here, I would think they would at least follow the state mandated health and safety guidelines!
Truly the most fun Ive ever had. Love this place and will be going back forever.
A little confusing to navigate on your first time but once you get it figured out and find your parking its a breeze. Had a blast and would definitely come back again.
Great place to visit.Pros:1. Good for experienced surfers2. Nice wave3. Clean pool4. Great facility5. Fun events and pro endorsed6. Other great facilities like a lazy river, cable park, and slides are around7. Friendly staffCons:1. Middle of nowhere - I.e. hard to get to2. Expensive3. Everything is an extra add on in the park so you can’t pay for surfing and have access to the other areas.4. Have to rent surfs on top of the surf admission which is not mentioned online5. The rules inside the pool / management of people by the staff is chaotic6. no one really checks who should or should not be surfing. We had random people interior (join) our session 30 minutes into it which meant we surfed less. It says 12 people max and there were like 15 (not counting the staff member).7. Alternating in groups of 3 for a wave greatly devalues the price to experience ratio.
Bit of a long line to enter the park due to a long line but well worth the wait. Got to see wakeboarders and surfers doing their thing before getting in the lazy river where we relaxed all afternoon. Will visit again!
We came here for a beginning surf session. It was pretty cool! Solid, predictable waves that let us get in some solid practice. There arent any instructors though, and its pretty expensive for what it is. The water is *extremely* blue, as if dyed. Our friends came for the intermediate and advanced surf sessions, and that was really impressive: big, steep waves, and full tubes. Seems like a way better and more unique place for that.
Great staff and byob whats better than that
I have not made it to the surf park yet unfortunately, but so far dealing with them and getting my session set up has been an absolute joy! I can’t wait to hit some consistent waves in Texas!
Lazy river was clean and cool. Surf area was neat to watch and the beach next to it was great to chill out in. Love thats its byob, bummed the bars and food were closed but its middle of covid 2020 so I get it.
Great outdoor fun. Excellent customer service
Clean water fun place great 1 day vacation spot!!
Went on the slides it was awesome! Dalton slide operator was very courteous and gave great info on to properly go down the slide and jaylin was respectful and welcoming!
Low capacity as advertised for the holiday weekend. Lazy river is a joy! Nice place to float with friends.
Check in/sign waivers beforehand to help make your experience a breeze like mine. Great staff always friendly and ready to help!
Love it. Nice little get away to play in the water.
Just a fun place for families or adults.
We just happened upon this with a wrong turn to the Branch Davidian. Im SO GLAD WE MADE THAT WRONG TURN!! this place is super cool! We were able to watch them practice surfing. The staff was pleasant, we were welcomed by Harry very nice young man. Nothing but, wow! Cool!!
Always a great time! Bars/restaurants arent operating yet. BYOB!
Had a great time at this place! The royal flush slides were fun but chilleeee I think It needs to have a weight limit cause I think Im too heavy to go at that altitude and that speed my whole body hurts and knocked the wind out of me both slides I went down..pretty sure I will be bruised.. but still fun..but I dont think I would do those again! Everyone was very nice and helpful! The bbq stand they had there was very good. The store with sunscreen and other supplies was closed as well as some other amenities due to covid, so come prepared. It is BYOB which was nice. We came on a monday and it was not a lot of people at all (the way I like it). The lazy river was very nice and surprisingly longer than expected, especially since there wasnt alot of people there...we had alot of space and alone time., between other tubers. The cooler tube was very helpful to carry our things, just make sure you bring a cooler..they provide free ice. The water in the lazy river couldve been faster but relaxing nonetheless. The beach was nice and clean. We didnt do the surfing or the cable park but looked fun just dont have experience in that and didnt have time for a class, which made the place not as eventful for us, but I would reccomend to anyone who just wants to have a quick getaway.
Surf park is awesome. Very well designed. More waves per hour than any other spot on the planet!
The park is nice, looks like they constantly are making improvements. The cable park is run pretty well. The surf park is not perfected yet......when the person in front of you falls or doesnt catch their wave, they are then in the way, preventing you from being able to ride your wave. Lot of money for very little action. The water is a LOT nicer now that they switched out the filtration or whatever they did, its no longer slimy feeling.
The surf park is awesome.
We came for a girls get away and had a fantastic time! Cameron, Mikey, and Brody were all incredibly helpful and accommodating. We stayed in Cabin 6 and it was perfect . Highly recommend! The lazy river was relaxing and fun. There are no waves or rough spots so no fear of your cooler getting wet. If you rent a cooler tube you can easy place a bag in with it without fear of getting it wet.Cabin 6 was great! The lofts were cozy and the main beds were comfortable. The view on the porch makes was the cherry on top! The kitchen was better than expected with a full size fridge and stove.Bonus: Lemur watching on the little island on the cable park! So adorable!
Nice little water park to hang out and relax!!
Lazy River went and what I thought it was relaxing but crowded wish I could have done more
A little too much crowd. Not bad.
We really enjoyed it. Its clean, asks guests to use no profanity, clean music, etc. Its a bit expensive to get in, especially for just the last river. They need more external signature for directions. Very well kept. Polite and friendly staff, all of them. We will return. I really liked that its not teeming with little people too. Lots of families but not geared for littles, love that. More benches please.
I surfed Nland in Austin when it was open. My expectations were based on the Nland model of one wave every 4-5 minutes. BSR blew Nland out of the water. The expert session pumped out 3 sets of chest to head high waves every minute or so. I was exhausted after 2 sessions. Nland you caught maybe 3 or 4 waves in an hour if you were lucky. BSR I caught prob 10 or more in an hour session with the rotation between the other surfers. Ill definitely be back.My only constructive criticism is that for my front session, there was no instruction from anyone at the park. If it wouldnt have been for the very friendly group from Virginia to tell me where to sit, when to paddle, etc, I would have had a much more disappointing trip bc a wave park wave is much different than an ocean wave.
I had so much fun here! My wife was excited to see all the Magnolia stuff in Waco, so I hopped over to the park to catch some surf. The waves were better than I expected. I didn’t think they would have as much speed as they did. It’s definitely a faster break than the videos show. I sacrificed a few waves getting the hang of the right take off spot, but once I did, it was super fun. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Driving out from Austin was easy too. Also, I had to rent a board. They have tons of “super” brand boards as well as “Tomo” and “Slater Designs” if you don’t have a board with you, don’t be afraid to rent. The pricing was right. The water was warm. My first session had 9 guys in it and I got plenty of waves. The next day, I spontaneously booked a session and lucked out getting a session with just me and one other person. I totally surfed my brains out for an hour straight.Go here and score!Oh and find the photographer. He sent me a bunch of photos of my session for only $50.I almost forgot to mention...I was super paranoid about the water quality, but the new filtration system had me blown away. The water was super clean. Someone said it was almost drinking quality. I can tell they’ve taken extreme measures to make sure people are safe and have a good time. Well done! I’ll definitely be back.
This place is awesome!!! Had a blast on the lazy river!!
Cool but overpriced. I wasnt expecting anyone to help us since it was our first time ever surfing but they actually gave us some tricks and helped us for the entire hour.
Amazing facility and awesome surfing! Wasnt able to do any of the cable tow lakes or waterpark, but they look really cool as well.
I’ve been sitting in the shade enjoying the music for 3 hours while my son rides the cable lake. Everyone has been super nice, helpful, and encouraging him to try new stuff. Restrooms are clean. Always a good place to spend an afternoon.
Unreal little wave. Great spot in the middle of nowhere! Worth a day trip, hotel rooms were great.
Great lil surf trip to Waco, staff and facilities were amazing.
Its dope. Expensive, but worth it
Love this place. This is where you will want to go over and over again. Lazy river and water slides were a hell of a good time.
I had an absolute blast. Before going I read a lot of reviews on Google and Yelp and to my surprise I seen some pretty bad ones. I had sat in my mind I was going regardless. Once I got there it was just as awesome as I had hoped. Its kind of about how you said your expectations, Id agree that this place probably isnt the most conducive to smaller children but I did see lots of smaller children there having a great time. There is a DJ and other people are playing music. There are people drinking and some people drunk. But this isnt your typical water park. If you know ahead of time what youre dealing with I think you can plan accordingly. The slides were amazing I was able to go off wearing my Snapchat glasses and bring a GoPro. The lines werent long on the day I went not sure if it was just a slow day or the overcast had something to do with it. The lazy river did bog down at some points but was still super relaxing. In my opinion the water was super clean and refreshing. Not only do I recommend going Im coming back next year with a group. If there was one thing I could say I wish was a little bit better it would be the customer service at check in. Its kind of a free for all and no clear lines. I waited in line for 15 minutes to check in and once I got to the front was told since I wasnt with this party group I had to sit in another line. Only to find that two customers later the party group was gone and she started helping regular people. Other than that great time.
This place is amazing, hospitality is great, the vibe is always great. The waves perfect everyday, the surf guides are helpful and super cool. Surfers paradise for real!!!
If you surf or wakeboard then nothing I say will do this place justice... You get it... Youve seen the countless pro videos on YouTube, Stab, etc... You either havent been yet because you cant afford it ... Or your sponsor has planned the trip and youre just waiting for your turn. Ah BSR... The vibe both in the water and out was exceptionally chill and friendly. I just ask that you figure out how to keep that vibe as you grow. So many miles from California and yet inundated with so many visitors from that state alone.. In the words of one of my favorite Californians: Ill be back!
It was awesome!
Great fun.
Such an awesome place
1st off I love texans hospitality everybody there was awesome And very friendly
The waves are incredible. The staff in the water and on the beach are super friendly and helpful; so are most of the surfers. Theres a lot of positivity and encouragement out in the water; you will almost certainly get some tips from the staff and surfers that will help you progress quickly.Be very honest with yourself about your skill level when choosing between Beginner, Intermediate and Expert. Even if you already surf a few times a year, or if youre somewhat experienced and its been awhile, Id recommend starting with Beginner. It has a peak thats about thigh high and you can ride every wave if you want; its a good way to get your legs back under you.If you find the Beginner to easy, go ahead and step up to Intermediate. You wont get as many waves per session, but they are unbelievably fun!As of writing this in early July, the surf park is still very new, and a bit of a work in progress, but for the most part, it seems to be continuously improving.
I went with my son - to try the Surf Pool. and he did the Royal Flush. Overall it was a very good place and specially the ability to surf. I did the intermediate session, to catch the wave is quite tricky - as unlike the ocean it appears very quickly and breaks a bit, however overall this is an incredible technology. I would suggest the following improvement: 1. Shower in the area of the Surf - Pool. They only had a hose - also restrooms were in a trailer. For the price you pay - this min.facilities should be there. 2. The selection of boards - it would be great if between the soft tops (beginners) and hard boards (experts) - there could be some 7.5 to 7 - Hybrid boards or one that have more flotations for older surfers or low intermediate (high beginner). 3. Finally - I would suggest to pls consider options of having ONLY sessions with waves to the right for example. MOST people are right (not goofy) - so I would suspect there is some demand for this -perhaps when you sign up - you can ask people if they want 50/50 ; or 100% - etc. However overall great place, the price is very expensive (at least for us) - father/son - it would be great to have a Family Discount - and first try to encourage more people and family to try it. 4. Also a surf bus from Dallas would be great.
Very happy with our experience! The first day we were one of the first people on the surf side and Jeff (manager I think) took time to learn our names and give us advice on the waves. Everyone was super helpful and nice and the facilities are awesome.
Major improvement from last years experience. I honestly didnt leave a review last year, we went on 3 different occasions to surf the expert sessions, horrible customer service, totally disorganized, water quality was strange and murky and issues with bacteria.BUT... we just surfed 2 expert sessions last Friday and OMG have they improved their process, we were greeted by 2 very friendly receptions for the checkin, they provided clear instructions prior to the start of the surf session, great for new customers, the water quality was amazing, great new water filtration system rocks, even the waves quality was better. Love this place, plan to come back monthly since I live 1.5 hours away.
It was great.we will be back soon.we would like information on your cabins.Thank u
This place is awesome. Its worth a visit, but plan on spending some cash. Is not cheap at all. A food truck and bar and grill are on site with limited options. You can bring a cooler with food, but they will charge you to bring it inside. Maybe be worth it if you enjoy a picnic. That said, Im not in a hurry to get back. Id rather save money to catch waves in Mexico.
Next best thing to going to a beach. Loved it.
Really cool place.. Had a blast..
The facilities and employees are very nice. You can go and have a lot of fun if you know what you are doing. As first time visitors, we were found ourselves confused at times. Unfortunately the left hand often times didnt know what the right hand was doing. The girl at the front desk didnt know what the packages were. I had to drill for information. The bar/grill is extremely well done, but it closes at 7 which is way too early for those staying at the resort. The grill people claim there room service if you want food after 7, but there is no one to answer the phone, and the kitchen is shut down at 7 so there is no way to get food. The employees seemed confused as to what time the different pools and bars close. One employee working at the pool bar will tell you you can take your drink out of the pool area while later another will tell you, you cant. We found getting a straight story about rules/policies very difficult. The facility is in need of a general manager to train and oversee these young employees. The surf director did a great job organizing the sessions. Basically, you have to bring your own food and drink or plan on going into town for dinner if you plan to stay the night. The rooms were clean, but pretty small for $300 a night. My family loves to surf so we will go back, but we will be better prepared next time.
Fun!
Great fun. loved the lazy river & watching people go off the slides, lol. It’s great that you can take your own food & drink! Parking can get a little crazy. Bring chairs or blanket to sit on... you’re going to want to stay all day.
Gnarly waves and yee its hot. Service is spotty, tho people are very polite.
The! Best! Time!
Place is Freakin Awesome..I have traveled all over the world for surf and I will definitely b back for more. The wave is pretty amazing
Awesome place with awesome employees. The surf resort is epic!
Had a great time on the Royal Flush and the surf pool. My only recommendation would be a better board selection. Bring your own board if you can.
Pleasant employees, the lazy river is pretty awesome. The biggest slide is NOT for the faint of heart.
Best wave pool open to the public
What an experience, Great Surf, Great People, Good food and an even better vibe in the water. Cant wait to go back! Yes, they are still working out a few details and still have parts of the park under construction but it was still totally worth every dollar I spent! Thank you Mr. Parsons!!!
Good place to hangout with friends... Visit weekends. Have lots of fun.
Great for entire family for any interests from lazy river, to big slides, to wakeboarding to surfing
Went to Intermediate Session, had a lot of fun. Waves were about 3-4 feet (trough to peak), a great size to get acquainted with the setup. I was on a domesticated shortboard (Lazy Boy 60, 41L, I am 180lb), found the waves easy to catch, unlike NLand.Twelve people in the rotation, 3 people per set, I got to go 9 times (5 rights and 4 lefts). Great vibe in the line-up, people cheer for each other.Fairly pricey but the number of waves you get is equivalent to a solid 2 hour perfect conditions session for me. Will be coming back for more!
Great place to find waves in Texas, people helpful and friendly. Will be going back, for first time surfers I recommend you do a 2 session day..
Cleanliness of this place... A man died after visiting here. He contracted a brain eating amoeba. Poorly maintained swimming pools...
It was good
What a hidden gem! Definitely going back!!
Secret spot. No photos or videos aloud. Territorial locals. Also, sharks! Lots of sharks! Surf at your own risk.
Rip good buddy....died after going here.
Had a blast
The wave pool was awesome....The service was great...Cant wait to return
