An amazing place to grab drinks with friends. Theyre taking social distancing very serious and are doing what they can to have a safe place to hang out. I was honestly surprised by how good the food was also. I would highly recommend the elote hotdog or pizza.

Walk up bar service was ok, typical bar. We only got the elote dog since we werent feeling the atmosphere, not to say its bad we just wanted somewhere quieter for this outing.We saw there was a back bar based on other reviews, there is and isnt. The back bar is not staffed. If it is supposed to be, we waited for a while before walking back to the front cor a relatively long wait for a couple basic drinks and a hot dog.The hot dog was awesome. The bread was crispy and the hot dog was warm and juicy. Toppings were top knotch.

Had a hot dog here and fell in love with whoever was singing the karaoke. They werent a good singer. The werent even good looking. The hot dog was just that good! Come for the chill staff who happily participate in the draw here. Stay for the great beer selection and, of course, the hot dog.

Such a fun, positive place! Everywhere I looked, people were having a good time. Only negative is everytime weve come, my hubbys crown and coke seems a bit watered down. But my lemon drop shot was fantastic!

We went for the 1st tonight we heard they were lgbt friendly and Justin was our bartender I honestly loved that he treated us right and made our drinks with care and asked wat was our preference of drink and went out of his way to make us feel good and even recommended his next preference and it was better than our 1st!!!! We had 2 drinks apeice and I got a lil too drunk but they made me feel good by giving me and husband some water before we left they really take care of you even if u get too far gone. Really Wana try theyre food missed out bc of covid they close that part at 9

The worse service ever. We walked in, sat down, and were completely ignored. Sat there for 15 minutes watching workers doing whatever. A young man walked by that was doing something on the individual tables. He told us to go up to the bar and they would wait on us..

My husband and I need to come more often to decide if we truly enjoy it or if we just didnt come at the greatest times. The first time we came was on the evening of July 4th. The place was super empty compared to how it was this past Saturday. My friend and I signed up for karaoke. We hung out there for over an hour and never had our names called. Again... the place was super empty so Im not sure whether we were purposefully skipped or the patrons who were there just signed the list a million times. It seemed very unfair. This last time we went it was so busy it was standing room only. Thats not a huge deal, but again karaoke seemed very unfair because the same people were on the list multiple times. I think if youre going to have that many people or even a few people like the first time you should make sure new patrons get to sing before the 2nd and 3rd time someone else goes.

Ive been a few times and enjoyed myself each time. I would say the last time I went was a little rough with the tab. I wouldnt suggest leaving it open, close every time you get a drink. Reason being, we got our tab and it was $141. We were there with friends, but the only people on the tab were my husband and I. I assure you we did not drink that much.We did have some craft beers that were about $9 a piece and a couple shots for us a our other 2 friends. Looking at the ticket, there were drinks that werent ours on the tab. Not sure if this was an honest mistake or someone new, but it was quite upsetting.We asked to have it fixed and were told, theres nothing we can do. At that point, what can you do? If they refuse to fix it, then they got their upsell.Probably wont return on my own desire, but will if a friend would like to go. Again, if I do return, I wont leave my tab open.Service was quick, workers were nice, atmosphere and people were cool. Semi clean, bathrooms could use some help.

This has been a great bar in Waco for years. The karaoke nights are a blast and the place has become even better since the expansion of the outdoor area.

The atmosphere is great but the awesome, secret gem of this place is the food. Mac and cheese is not just for kids, at least the three cheese version here is not. Anyone would love it. The pizza is perfect. From the crust to the sauce, cheese and on up to the toppings, you just cannot go wrong. We have been either in afternoon or early evening when it is less crowded. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Place is a great hangout. Good selection or canned/bottled beer to go with their draft selection. Big bar, several pool tables, darts in the back arcade, and a nice outdoor area in back. Bartenders were friendly and inew a bit about their extensive selection.Happened to be there for karaoke and that did not disappoint

Most of the time laid back and fairly quiet but kicks up quite the party on Saturdays. Thursday nights and Friday nights can draw a crowd, too. Attracts college and older crowds. Kareoke on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Try the Elotes Pizza.

First bar to ever stop at in Waco. Awesome little dive bar not just for the college scene. Some pretty nice art work inside, well lit and the music isnt too loud. Pretty decent craft beer selection (mainly cans or bottles). Great customer service & very nice staff.

Waco is not exactly spoiled for bars so it isnt hard for one to stand out. And oh man does Truelove ever do that. This place is like a second home. Whether on a sleepy weeknight where hushed locals haunt the patio or a thriving Saturday when new and regular faces fill the strobe-lit main room for karaoke, this is always a welcoming, happy place to be. Social club is an apt descriptor.

Very Austin like Atmosphere. Very Interesting Artwork posted around the place. Huge Selection of beers. Fairly younger crowd. But with karokee night, there are a few mid-20s and us older folk there. Has a back patio. Excellent Owner.

It was me & my Husbands FIRST TIME in True Love Bar & Its the BEST BAR EVER. .its LAYED BACK. .music not too loud but loud enough. .The Bartender made me feel AT HOME. .she let us taste test. .ended up getting her SPECIALTY Pink Titties & not to mention she was BEAUTIFUL. .The FOOD was AMAZING. .I had the Roast Beef Sandwich with the DIP. .omg. .MY Husband had a BLT & A delicious Margarita with a salt rim. .WE PLAYED 2 GAMES OF POOL. .It was SO FUN. .Ill DEFINITELY BE BACK. .

Went for Dad jokes comedy night. There was a long line up of comedians. Pretty entertaining. Dont be faint of heart. These jokes can get bad. Got hungry and ordered a pizza. Very tasty. Would recommend it!

This is a great locally owned bar where you can go for a nice night with friends. My favorite part is the back room which is much quieter and away from the hustle and bustle. If you are looking for a bar to dance at, this is not for you. But if you are just looking to have a good time with your friends you have to check it out. Great signature cocktails and the bartenders are always very friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for more of a crowd, go on karaoke night or Thursday night for the college crowd.

Its like a nice version of a dive bar. Not much outside space unless youre okay with getting cozy and breathing smoke, but the place is open and clean and theres always something affordable and tasty on special.

I met an absolutely amazing person here, very thankful for this.Unfortunately I had my wallet stolen at this establishment last night. Yes karaoke is AWESOME. Coming from Denver, CO maybe I just forgot how grimey people can be or maybe its just Texas? The lack luster staff didnt make me feel at home.Overall I would have given this place a solid four - criminal activity and an underlying feeling of unwelcomeness heavily disappoints.Go there, enjoy the karaoke, have fun - be mindful of the shadows.

I always wanted to go here to see what the buzz was about. until I heard about how a certain situation was handled, about a man putting pills in a womans drink. the fact that security didnt call the cops and kicked an innocent man out for false accusations by someone who just wanted her likes and shares. I wouldnt feel safe at a place where accusations like this are taken lightly. what if said accusations had been true and the security let a dangerous man get away? I dont know about you but this place shouldnt be open if this is how light they take their customers safety. but plenty of good bars in Austin ave!

Good beer selection

This is my favorite bar in town, and Ive been to all of them. Super awesome staff who are great at what they do. LGBTQ friendly, woman friendly, man friendly, liberal friendly, conservative friendly, whatever friendly. The regulars and staff try to maintain an atmosphere where everyone is accepted. There are three cardinal rules: respect the staff, respect the other patrons and respect the bands. Follow those and you are in for a great time.
