If you are in Southern California near San Diego you should definitely catch a show here. The performers are amazing. They have some incredible talent and great voices. Plus you can’t beat the outdoor theater. It is a beautiful setting and the seating is amazing.

Musicals and ballet are definitely not my thing, but Ive got a daughter who loves them. So we went to the recent nutcracker performance, and I enjoyed it for real. Largely because the grounds were so family friendly. Plenty of space on the hill to camp out and let the wee ones run around. I cant wait for the outdoor movies during the summer!

Excellent venue! I havent been there in over 10 years and its gone through a lot of changes. The place is perfectly manicured and its very people-friendly. I was able to bring in my wagon with food, blanket, drink, and everything I needed to enjoy a fun show. No metal detectors no security sniffing your thermos, just real stuff. Reminds me of a Time gone by when we used to have liberties. I had an enjoyable evening and met so many wonderful people. No stress, no drama, just people having fun and enjoying each other. I love this venue and will be returning often. This theater is a real asset to the community and surrounding areas. I wish there were more like this.

The stage is great, and staff is very friendly. The orchestra pit appears to be state of the art. We had reserved seats. They were comfortable, but are less than ideal for eating or drinking. Parking wasn’t as much an ordeal as we expected, but it can be a bit of a treacherous hike for some up into the north parking lot. Overall, a very nice evening.

A summer favorite activity! High quality performances and orchestra. Beautiful sunsets. Bring your own picnic, or enjoy the food and drinks there. $22 for general lawn seating on a Saturday and we were able to see and hear everything. Great way to support the arts and enjoy an evening out!

It was our first time visiting and we will definitely be back! What a perfect way to enjoy the outdoors and the arts at the same time in San Diego! It is super cool that you can bring in your own picnic and enjoy it 1 1/2 hours before show time. The grassy areas between the seated rows seem to be the way to go with the low chairs provided by the venue. The sound is excellent and the prices are better than downtown theater and in a by far better venue!

What a unique experience. Nice picnic style dinner with friends and family outside, glass of wine, theater, culture, dessert at intermission, night sky, and a throw to share with a loved one . I think Ill call it date night. There is nothing like it.

A real gem for the city of Vista situated on the north end of town. Plays and concerts are put on year around. Reserved seating available as well as lawn chairs or bring your own blanket. There is food and drink for purchase. A great place to spend an evening. Check it out.

Lovely venue, very professional productions with full live orchestra and surprisingly high-level dancing, singing and acting. Great costumes and set design too, especially for a local production venue. Seats are not the most comfortable but what do you expect from an outdoor amphitheater? Bring a cushion.

Moonlight puts on high quality plays in spacious outdoor theater. The grounds are tiered grass strips to sit and bring you favorite food. Lawn chairs are provided if you dont get one of the theater style seats closer to the stage. Big productions in a home town atmosphere make for a good time.

I enjoyed the Matilda The Musical at the Moonlight Theatre. Wonderful outdoor theatre a pleasure to visit. I cant wait for the next musical a must see to enjoy. The only reccomendation bring lots of jackets and blankets to keep warm.

Moonlight is a very nice venue. Clean, nice staff and they let you bring food and drink in but no alcohol. Parking can mean uphill and downhill walking so keep that in mind,

Great theatre. Fantastic amenities and access to the theatre. There are two sides to enter. Not stringent at all about outside food and drinks. Incredibly friendly team.

Great atmosphere. really good shows and musicals a must see. Although if you attend night show dont forget to bring a blanket gets cold.

This is why we live in San Diego. A beautiful outside theater with great musicals available Spring through early Fall. If you are familiar with Wolftrap in VA this is much newer and nicer.

We went to see Matilda, and what a fun show this was. I loved every single minute of it. The staff was friendly and well organized.

An amazing hidden gem. The shows are a great variety in a family environment. Kitchens For Good provides excellent service with a wide selection of food and drink options.

Unique venue and AMAZING talent. We saw Victor Victoria, and the cast and musicians were spectacular!

The talent and shows offered at the Moonlight have been fantastic. Every season seems to get better than the last. This is a wonderful, outdoor Amphitheater, that is full of energy. Each play is so well performed and the large area allows you to have comfortable picnics prior to the show and during intermission. Food and drinks are offered there with a reasonable choice of wines.

My husband and I have season tickets and love going to the shows. It’s very family friendly and the talent is amazing! We highly recommended it to all our friends.

Superb performances with enormous talent and extraordinary musical direction, but the physical facilities, especially for senior citizens is not good. The sound system is horrendous and the distortion is unbearable. There is overamped clipping that caused me to leave at the intermission. Someone should visit the outdoor Santa Fe Opera where the sound is gorgeous.

Bravo to the performers! Watched Freaky Friday and it was a marvelous performance! Seating on the other hand was not comfortable for me though.

This place is awesome! Great venue, great staff and they seem to always pull in really good shows and performers. I highly recommend the lawn seats (which are assigned to avoid crowding) and showing up early to enjoy a nice picnic before the show. They provide the lawn chairs. No outside alcohol is allowed but they have a bar that serves beer and wine and a snack bar and restaurant if you dont want to bring your own stuff. There is plenty of parking but a bit of a hill to navigate to get into the venue. Great way to spend a nice summer evening.

Performances and sets are absolutely fantastic! If you have little ones, Id suggest purchasing the lawn seating (big one on the hill). This way, you can have your picnic and then set the kids exercising before the show starts and during intermission. Toilets by the main entrance (right of the stage) get pretty crowded during intermission, dont forget theres one by the other entrance (left of the stage). It gets pretty chilly. If you forget to pack a thermos of hot cocoa, no worries, theres a concession stand.

Absolutely amazing! I was so impressed by everything I experienced last night when I took my daughter to see Beauty and the Beast. The facility itself is amazing - also the band, the cast, the props - everything was so animated and top notch. I loved it and will return!

One of San Diego Countys great cultural ammenities is Vistas Moonlight Amphitheatre and the Broadway musicals produced there under the stars every summer.

Such a wonderful outdoor venue! We saw Mama Mia tonight and it was FABULOUS!! I wish there was a similar venue like this closer to where I live. Lawn built-in seating, (chairs available for lawn seating). Food is available for purchase or you can bring a picnic to enjoy, but alcohol must be purchased in the venue and will be confiscated at the entrance (bags/picnic baskets are searched).

I live going to the Moonlight. The productions are always fantastic and the atmosphere cant be beat. I really like that they now provide chairs for the assigned lawn, it makes life so much easier.

Weve enjoyed the Moonlight for years. Its a beautifully designed facility, combining aesthetics with practical functionality.Its very user friendly. People are invited to bring their picnics, sans alcohol, which is sold on site. Qualitywine. There is a restaurant on site, which requires reservations and meal selection few days before. I think they still sell snacks.The venue provides low backed chairs for lawn sitters, and the regular seats are comfortable too. Good ADA access. Even the restroom lines move quickly!Every seat has a good view, the acoustics are very good too. Staging is excellent. Actors are professional with terrific singing voices.The evening can get a little cool. Many people bring a blanket to snuggle in.Its a wonderful evening in Vista CA, which also has the best weather in the USA.Try it, youll like it.

This is one of my favorite places in San Diego OVERALL! The shows are always good, they have a live orchestra, the space is awesome and you can bring your own food and have a pic-nic on the lawn before the show starts, bunch of people bring tables and blankets...its so beautifully friendly and informal, but the quality is certainly up there! Prices are unbeatable. Certainly worth the long drive from downtown.

Amazing outdoor stage with stadium seating and also a lawn seating area. Doesnt seem very handicap accessible (unless there was some optional pull-up area I didnt see) but I thought it was weird that you have to park all the way at the bottom of the hill and there was so direct path to the theater...so everyone just cuts across the dirt/grass. It was rainy & this would probably turn to mud. The paved path winds around so far that no one would reasonably use it. Just a heads up to anyone who has trouble walking. Also it was a bit chilly in December, dress warmer than you think!

One of the best places to see a play in town. I look forward to the shows every summer, along with the wonderful ambiance the venue brings to the show. A definite gem of the San Diego theater. Definitely recommend reserved lawn seating to fully understand what makes this venue unique. It is an excellent place to bring a meal and enjoy the cool air before the show as well as set up a small table and have a bottle of wine.

Incredible amphitheatre! Cant believe I had never been here before. Went here to see Intergalactic Nemesis, and was so fun! The food stand has delicious, reasonably priced food. Be sure to bring your own blankets if its going to be a chilly night. So so fun!

I broght the family (2, 4, 84 year olds included) to a show, and it was a wonderful experience. We bought 2 reserved seats with 2 reserved lawn seats to be directly in front of the seats. I wasnt aware that they are Not aligned, so beware if you attempt the same. Luckily the group next to us shifted and we had a wonderful time, the kids had a little space with that configuration.The show we attended was the Nutcracker performed by kids troupe, so not the normal event here but the venue is gorgeous, I highly recommend this place and I cannot wait to go again.

Just saw Mamma Mia here a few weeks ago and it was amazing they did such a great job! I always try to make it to the different shows they have. Great place. I always go with the lawn seating bring a little picnic and enjoy a night out with family!

One of a kind. Great place to see a show or music. Reserve a lower level seat or brace the upper grass area for families and kids. They provide some lawn chairs for the upper area, but its limited. Bring a blanket as another option. They have good food options otherwise bring your own. Parking lot is close by but they offer a shuttle if you dont like walking across a dirt/rock area.

Have seen a couple of performances here. Like that you can bring a picnic. They sell food and drinks (beer and wine ). Good prices on seats. Good sound system,. Parking is on a dirt lot and it can be a dusty walk to the theater. There is some lighting along the pathway.

I have seen a handful performances here and all of them were splendid. Highly suggest!

This is a beautiful venue! Bring your jackets since after dark it can get chilly. Not a bad seat in the house though! Such a beautiful setting.

Great sound /lighting, and terrif shows

My husband and I have been attending performances for 20 years. We have NEVER been to a production we did not enjoy and cant rave enough on how well the productions are put together and how impressive the talent of all singers and dancers are. No disappointments here!

I have never had a bad experience in the 10 year Ive been coming to the shows. The actors are amazing.

You can always find amazing talent at the Moonlight! The shows are first class and the venue is relaxed in the cool outdoors.
