Beautiful tribute to a Wonderful Entertainer and American!️

Fantastic displays that were engaging and discussed the background of Red Skelton. Some of the writers behind the scenes turned into big stars like Johnny Carson!The museum director Anne Pratt started us off our tour and was very friendly!

Definately worth the visit. The man was one of a kind. Interesting assembly of his history.

Well worth the time to stop and go through it. His birth place is there too. Would go again and recommend it.

Fascinating museum about the legacy of a great entertainer and that era of popular entertainment. Very clean establishment, located on the Vincennes University campus. My youngest was at first afraid of the clown merchandise and people (we visited during a parade), but he soon got over that when he realized how friendly everyone was. If you are in the area or visiting on-campus, I strongly recommend stopping by and seeing a slice of history and entertainment.

History.... I did not know anything before going to this little museum. If your in the area a two hour must do. Its fairly new and the staff is well versed with the historical accounts

You wouldnt expect a place like this in tiny Vincennes, Indiana. This museum is a great tribute to Red Skelton, good for children and adults. With interactive exhibits, numerous video and audio displays, and an amazing collection of memorabilia, this is a top-notch museum of any kind! Worth a trip from anywhere!

This place is over the top!! We stopped in Vincennes, Indiana on the way to Wisconsin on a business trip and seen the billboard on the highway and had to stop in. My wife is a huge Red Skelton fan. I am glad that we stopped!! The administrator Doug was so awesome and very informative and a super nice guy. They had alot of Reds original paintings and original outfits that he wore in his skits. There are interactive areas of the museum for the kids and the adults alike and are fun to do. They have a very nice gift shop as well with some very unique treasures that you will want to take home with you.. The museum is a must stop if you are heading up North through Indiana. You will love the museum if you like Red Skelton and the comedy of that era. Its full of memories and laughter that everybody can still enjoy today as well as yesteryear. He was one of the best comics of the century. Plus his childhood home is about a block away from the museum.

Had a really great time visiting here yesterday. My parents took me to see Red when I was little.

My mom and I saw an awesome show put on by Artrageous. Here are two of the paintings they did on stage while singing and dancing. We loved it!

Very interesting. Lots of exhibits and interactive activities. We were pleasantly surprised. I recommend this museum.

We happened upon this place while in town doing genealogy research, and we really enjoyed it. There are multiple displays of Skeltons authentic costumes for many of his beloved characters, and each display has a sample video of that character in action. There are lots of pictures of Skelton throughout his life, and stories about his youth and private life. This is a very well done museum and also a beautiful performance venue.

It was a really neat museum. My family and I learned a lot about Red Skeltons life and it had some neat interactive stations.

If you like Red Skelton youll like the museum. Its pretty small but full of great items including some of his original paintings. There are also some interactive displays and buttons to push, etc. that help keep kids involved.

I loved this place. I didnt expect it to be as nice as it was, and was happily surprised to find that I thoroughly enjoyed myself during my visit. There are many items belonging to Red Skeleton on display here at the museum. Anyone old enough to remember this master of laughter will enjoy all the reminders of a simpler, more honest time when laughter didnt include obscenities and foul language. Back when the masters of comedy could muster up a laugh just using facial expressions. How lovely it must have been back in my parents day...

This is a great place to enjoy the golden age of comedy with one of the greatest. It is awesome to know that someone that came from such humble beginnings can make it if you just want it bad enough and catch a few lucky breaks along the way. The museum is great, has a lot of Reds old costumes, video footage, pictures, etc. A must see for young and old!!

I love these place. It has a lot of his wardrobes and a lot of DVDs and stuff and who he thought was funny a must-see place if you can get to it. The parking lot is big enough where you can get a motorhome or an 18-wheeler in it not for overnight parking though

We go every year our grandkids get so excited for the parade and all the activities.

Very good directions to get there. My husband said i was in for a disappointment, however we both were enthused and impressed. The desk receptionist was very helpful and friendly. If youre ever in the Vincennes, IN area - do stop in. Its worth it and the price is right; what a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours with a lot of laughs from the past.

I am a distant cousin of Red Skelton (via my 2nd great grandmother, Betsy Jane Skelton) so my sister and I took special delight in visiting the museum. It was a wonderful trip and I would go back again in a heartbeat!
