Lovely views are free - shoot your own island panorama, a peek inside is $5/ person (possibly a recommended donation, and a bit less for kids). Taino artifacts, colonial history, messy US Army bombing range heritage and fun colorful modern art are worth the modest entry fee.A good way to spend an hour in a refuge from the scorching sun. Half of the place is empty though, so dont expect to be overenriched by history or culture, especially if Spanish is not your forte.

This was an enjoyable experience for a quick day tour. Its free to the public as well. We were staying at an Airbnb just down the road from here and walked over. The small Fort offers a small type museum with a few artifacts, pictures but the panoramic views are beautiful. Theyre great for selfies scenic photos. I would recommend to go early because it will get very hot and uncomfortable

The fort is definitely worth going to see . I enjoyed the view and the iguanas were the best I seen on the island. The art inside on the walls was extraordinary. You could spend a short time learning the history of vieques or a lifetime. The art inside the fort ranges from present time to the beginning of civilization on the island and some of it is for sale.

While $5 is a little much for how small this is I realize it must go towards the staff and upkeep of the building. Good views and beautiful local art, and a nice exhibit on the history if Vieques. Dont need too much time to walk around, good rainy day activity or quick stop of youre in town

The visit should not take you more than an hour, but its worth it. Its free and you can wander around as long as you want. You will read most of the story of Vieques and see artifacts of different eras of Vieques. The outside have great views, including cannons. I walked from Isabel II. Its about a 10 to 15 minutes walk that includes some hills.

It is not the easiest place to board the ferry. Traffic is crazy with everyone jocking doe the perfect spot to pick up or drop off passengers.

Gorgeous fort from the colonial era. The collection is very nice including native artifacts, modern paintings and old paintings. Views from this site are spectacular. The staff is willing to answer your questions, however the museum is self guided

This is must see place on Vieques. There are beautiful views of the island, and its a place full of history. The guide is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the fort, the island, and Puerto Rico. Theres a museum on the second level with a lot of information and artifacts. A gift shop is on the first floor. Its a tight entrance at the gate going up the hill to the fort, youll want to go up the road, turn around, and come at the entrance straight on. Dont try to turn into it.

A must see on Vieques. Its very basic but gives you a nutshell of the history of the island and has some interesting artifacts. They operate off of donations so take a few bucks and go learn a little about the island you are enjoying so much.

Pleasant little stop that gives you some history you might not have known otherwise about the island. Just wish there was a bit more to it. Also seemed like there was a good amount more to the fort interior that you dont see. Still, a good way to kill an hour.

Worth the visit if you are in Isabella Segundo and you have a spare 20 minutes. The old fort walls are impressive. The main building is heavily restored and stucco covers most of the architectural features. The museum exhibits are small and sparse, but its a nice collection of precolumbian artifacts. Great views from here.

Museum was closed, but spectacular views and a really cool stop for the family. Got some good pictures and a wonderful view of the northern part of the island.

This is an old Spanish fortress. Canons are still present. When we were there the museum was closed, but just walking around the grounds is lovely.

The most beautiful and important place in VIEQUES

There was no guided tour although there were several employees. The place is very well preserved. Spectacular views.

Nice place for some history of Vieques Island. Sites are beautiful from the fort. People personal atended your visit and glady answers any question. Great scenery from the fort walls. They even have a small gift shop. They recently are working on new painting at one of its halls. Come and visit so you can enjoy some history as well!

The Sunset was sureal! The best I have EVER SEEN, and I lived in Hawaii for 4 years. A MUST SEE in Vieques. There is a small food cart with amazing Bacaolitos and other fried fare. We were there during the Vieques cultural festival which was an amazing time. Overall great place to stop by and watch the sunset.

The small fort is a nice side trip while on the island of Vieques in the main town of Isabel II. Built in 1848 by the Spaniards to monitor the British boats leaving nearby British Virgin Islands. The fort sits on top of a hill with panoramic views of the ocean and nearby island of Culebra and Puerto Rico. On a clear day you can see St. Croix and BVI.
