Didnt find this place by accident. Its in the city center, tucked away off of the street, not a lot of room, so get there early! Heard the Vienna Big Band, loved it!

A wonderful experience at Jazzland. Im not an expert but the music was great, atmosphere incredible and overall, a very authentic experience. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get a taste of Vienna, class and talent.

It is a nice and cozy place with it being a wine cellar or something. It is a tad bit difficult to find, but you need to just open the papered up door and descent down the stairs. I visited during summer and it became quite hot. Also, it is a place where you go post having had a dinner elsewhere.

We saw a quintet perform here, world class musicians, and fantastic atomsphere. BTW, the food here is actually quite good, which is a nice little surprise.

What a magical place! We were in Vienna for the weekend and stumbled on this. Live jazz in an OLD basement, one of the originals. The Jazz was superb and everyone was welcome. All ages and styles. Its first come first served for tickets at the door, so get there early if you want to secure a seat. The guy on the front door is funny!

Really cool atmosphere and great music! Just two things to point out: drinks are quite expensive considering you pay entrance (about 4€ for the entrance and also about 4€ for a beer). Also, when we entered jazzland, the guy charging us the entrance didnt mentioned that the concert was finishing... Could have been more nice and warned us about it.. (So please, check the hours of the concert before going down, theres a paper with the concerts and the hours at the entrance).

Had a great night here, cosy and warm venue and fantastic music on the night we visited. Its not that easy to find in the dark and but dont be turned off by the entrance.

Looks interesting have the atmosphere, up evacution of more than 50 people with more than 2m height might not meet the fire protection standarts? what a pity anyway we didnt have cash, calling your nancy friends to do the dirty job wasnt the best approach...

Cool club in a cool corner of Vienna

They had guest perfomers from USA the night we visited. Entry was 15€ which is just for the performance. Food are average of cafe prices there so are the beer. But those are just accompanying stuff for the great jazz performance.First jazz club for us and it was really nice. The owner was there and he was really friendly and highlighted some stuff to us as he knew we were tourist and the staff were all friendly. Frankly everyone in there including the patrons were friendly. Recommended for anyone who loves music to drop by if its on the way.

A lot of people when I visited and a very friendly atmosphere. Music was great and ordering was possible from my seat. Really cozy place located in kind of a cellar which made the experience more authentic.

Small, friendly but a little cramped, this is a must visit if you love jazz. Arrive a little early for better seats and enjoy a few drinks before the performance.

Jazzland is a classic and the jazz there is also more of the classic kind. It draws mostly an older crowd and it is really hit or miss with the music. There are a few bands that play there all the time probably because they are in the scene. Some of those bands are great and some not so great.Either way though, you will have a fun night there. So it is worth going even on the days when the band is eh.The place itself is strangly organized and I recommend sitting in the other room by the bar, not where the band plays, unless you really really want to see the band.

Arrived 8pm doors locked, drunk outside offered me a drink out of his bottle which was kind . Went on for meal elsewhere called back 9:30 still could not get in unless there is different entrance. Will try another year but was really looking forward to a good jazz night .

What an amazing experience!

Outstanding service, good food and live music. Small club setting, great acoustics, as its in the basement/crypt area of an old church. Only hard part was finding it, then we saw a 9 piece swing band play for 3 hrs for 15 euro each. Check this place out if youre in Wien.

One of the oldest Jazz clubs in Vienna full of memories, situated in an old cellar. Beer, drinks and snacks are a little pricy compared to other places, but you pay for the music here. Depending on the concerts you have to pay an entry fee. Great music if you love Jazz!

Went here on a Wednesday evening to hear a swing band that was relatively unknown. After reading other reviews we arrived shortly after seven, to find there were only two other couples in the place. Unlike other reviewers, we found the lady at the front door quite friendly, even though we were tourists. It did almost fill up by 9, but there were still some decent seats available. We ordered the schnitzel and the Cevapcici. Both dishes were ok but not that special. To drink (were off alcohol) we had soda with elderflower syrup. Delicious. Cover charge was 15 Euros/ person. Dinner for 2 was about 33 Euros. The band, The Cotton Pickers, was excellent. A great evening.

Average music, mediocre beer, unusually unfriendly staff—a rather disappointing experience.

Ive gone to Jazzland a handful of times and was only disappointed once, because I didnt like the music, so thats on me. The atmosphere is awesome! You have to arrive early on Friday and Saturday nights to get a seat, Ive seen many tourists get disappointed at the entrance. There are very few seats. The food is ok, the beer is as usual in Vienna. The scene and artists are very close to the audience and sometimes it creates an amazing chemistry. I highly recommend. But check out the time and band playing, so as to not end up listening to something you do not enjoy.I need to point out that when I brought friend with me and we were obviously tourists, the person selling the tickets was always unnecessary rude. Servers were always on point though and the owner always a cheery polite guy. I think there are a couple of staff members who do not like tourists; dont let your experience get ruined by that! The irony is that technically, most of the artists are also tourists.

This place is a must do to visit! I went here one night during a 2 month European trip and the band playing was an 8 piece ensemble that played 1920s jazz with the band leader being from California (where I was visiting from.)Dont miss this place.

Best night we have had in a long time!!It is not the most welcoming place to tourists in appearance and the staff, but it made it so much better not to have annoying tourists around.We were lucky enough to see a gypsy swing trio with a guest violinist. The performance was delightful, the company excellent and the high ish price worth it for the experience.

Really great location with a good selection of events. Viennas most famous Jazz club. No reservations so make sure to be there at 7pm when the doors open.

Authentic jazz cellar. Look closely for the entrance around the corner of no 29. Good beers, good wine. And when the Cotton Lickers are playing (with Marc Osterer on trumpet and Hubert Bründlmayer on drums) fabulous jazz!

I was just going to some jazz koncert with friends, my expectations were neutral, but it was awesome, concert of band Together was really good, atmosphere inside is relaxing and friendly and looks that majority of audience is composed from +40 locals
