This is a nice little museum with a variety of information about route 66 and all the surroundingareas. Good place for a walk down memory lane.
This roadside attraction is fee free and managed by volunteers, and is a little gem of a place that reminds us of the lost era. The artifacts are amazing and well maintained.Overall, an outstanding and well decorated place which deserves much more accolades, especially being the non-profit venture it is. (Note: Previously stated as Family owned. Updated this misinformation after response from the owner).
Just had to share my superb experience here. Every volunteer is so engaging, interesting, and enthusiastic at this delightful museum. All lovely people. It has a wonderful collection of Route 66 items, along with those of its Western heritage, local telephone exchange equipment, radios and other a myriad of other things. Thanks to Lou, a US Air Force veteran (who was based in the UK for a while), I learned the origin of the car transistor radio. Its financed by donations and sales in its shop; so do put some money in the pot or buy some R66 related merchandise to let it continue its work.
I cant believe Ive lived here for 20 years and never visited this Museum. Its a cornucopia of so much history in our area. It made me realize how old I am since I recognized so many of the objects including an outhouse. My friends and I couldnt have felt more welcome! The docent there was amazing! Its a completely free museum run by volunteers but donations are appreciated. Ill definitely go back now that Ive found this fantastic Museum in the high desert.
Nice piece of history, entry is free but its worth dropping some money in the box or buying some souvenirs. Lou and Bill were an absolute hoot, make sure you have a chat with them when you stop in!
Small museum filled with Route 66 memorabilia. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. The museum had so many items that jolted my childhood memories. Most kids today would not have any knowledge of many of the items here. Great museum to visit. Have been to museums across the country, big & small & this is definitely one of my favorites.
Wonderful museum!! The volunteers make you feel so good and provide a lot of information and personal histories. A nice place to visit
This was such a great find. The staff are the friendliest and show a true love for Route 66. They welcomed us, showed us around, answered questions and told us about other great stops on our trip. Plus, they let you sit on some of the displays for pictures like the old Ford model T. We will definitely be back!
When you walk into the museum, you might be welcomed by Lou, one of the tour guides. He will greet you with a nice smile and will give you directions. Lou likes to talk to you about the history of route 66 and his own personal life. Lou was in the Air Force which makes the experiance a whole lot more interesting. The entrance is free and there is gift shop too. There is lots to see and the museum is mainly themed to Route 66 Over all, my experience was great!
Well worth a visit, very friendly and helpful staff and route 66 memorabilia, its also on the original route 66 road
Nice free museum to visit right off I15. The people running it are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the route. Lots of old memorabilia.
Great little museum with lots of Route 66 memorabilia. Gift shop. Souviners
Pretty cool museum, not very big but it has a lot to look at and the cost is FREE
This place is awesome. I stopped by here back in October to find a Geocache, and ended up inside for over an hour. There is so much history about the historic Route 66 as well as local history and automotive history. It’s amazing how much stuff they can fit in this place. If you have the time to stop by, I highly recommend it, and make sure to give yourself plenty of time to wander around!
Great place to visit! A must see!
Got to enjoy seeing some old stuff from many years ago and I love the tour.
Great info. Lots of cool items in the gift shop. Would definitely stop by again
Great place to find out the history of Route 66... Nice friendly atmosphere. ..
A great little museum to visit. The car park isnt the best for motorcycles. Theyve laid pebbly gravel which makes manovering more fun.
This place is an absolute must see. There is so much history there AND the admission is free, although they do take freewill donations. They also have a great store where they sell many cool items about Route 66. It is definitely worth the drive.
I grew up in the area, so tons of cool memories...
Doesnt look much from the outside, but definitely worth a visit, the ladies that run it are all friendly and know lots about the history of Route 66. No charge for entry but chuck some cash in the collection box to help keep the place running
If you enjoy history, youll love this place.
Very cool place to stop by on the way to Vegas! Staff there is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Super cool to see all of the old and obsolete stuff theyhave at the museum. For older generations it will bring back wonderful sweet memories. I truly enjoyed it. The docents are very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Go and have fun. Oh, also great Route 66 memorabilia for sale. Dont miss it.
A very small museum but if youre in the area you should stop by and check it out (theres no admission fee but please consider donating and buying some souvenir).Staff here was friendly (I think most are volunteers) and they have a Model T you can sit and take a picture. Walking through here, you do see some history (they even have a Motorola phone from the early 90s) including telephone switch board, washing machine and fridge. They have some cool souvenir and reasonably priced. Hours of operations vary so do call ahead.
Awesome place. I especially love all the info on the history of Victorville and the high desert. Very friendly, knowledgable staff.
Fun time with several photo opportunities.
Worth a visit, everyone was friendly and a good place to buy some Route 66 souvenirs. A real shame that a classic diner cant be incorporated into this, it would work really well, even if it was just shakes and coffees.
Was great the people are friendly and the volunteers that run the place was very thorough and respectful and entertaining
A small unimposing building pack with so much history. When we went we met two German couples visiting dressed in 1960s apparel, an added plus for our visit. This place had so much history... cars, restaurant settings, books and other memorabilia. Entry is free but donations are accepted. More than one visit is required to really see everything. Lots of Roy Rogers stuff also.
It was a really nice place the people that work there are very nice.. it really a throw back to see how year ago where so different.
This is a must stop and see. Not only do they have a great museum with so much to see and much of it hands on (you can sit in the trucks etc) but the staff are so incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I could spend a few days looking through here!
Great fun and really different. Well worth a visit. Plenty of Route 66 souvenirs
Very interesting things on display, if you like retro/ old things and technology then you will enjoy it
Very cute. Staff very knowledgeable
Had a lot cool stuff, pictures, books, info, souvenirs, gotta go back for sure.
Its good for sights and the other places around it.
So much fun and facts about the desert! Dont forget to donate so they keep the doors open!
Its a museum on rte 66. Some interesting items. Lots of random old things as well. very talkative staff. Could be good if you dont have to be somewhere soon
The people living and working here are so happy, they speak a little portuguese and already visited Brazil
A group of us went over and had a wonderful time looking over everything and seeing tons of items from old cars in the 20s and up. There are many pictures there to see, inexpensive items to purchase. I cant name all the great things you would never expect them to have out for public viewing. I had pictures on my cell phone but they are gone now.
So interesting! Great collection of interesting artifacts! Fantastic staff! Reasonable prices on souvenirs!

Shows the era...worth a quick look..
Kinda cool mish-mosh of relics from a bygone age. A nice blend on nostalgia and kitsch.
Great place for a bit of history and nostalgia
Nostalgiaporn I loved the volunteers and all of the items...you gotta sit in the truck & definitely play the jukebox
This place is a mandatory Route 66 experience. Heading to Vegas? Stop in. Traveling the road? Plan on staying awhile. Looking for a day trip from Los Angeles with your kids? Make this just a part of your experience
It was amazing seeing the biggest and oldest steam engine go through Victorville
Awesome. Lots to see. Be sure to take picture on the Ford Model T
Very interesting part of Americana. Super nice lady works there that provided great tips about places to go on the route and life in Victorville. Look forward to exploring the route further and seeing America as it once was.
Really nice museum. Friendly, helpful volunteers. Be sure to buy a souvenier, that how they stay afloat.
Cute little museum across from the greyhound station.
Great memories of oh so many things. Sure miss those years. Volunteers here are so kind. Make sure you have a couple hours lots to look at. Free to the public. Free parking. ADA compliant entry and restroom. No ADA parking spots but large front concrete slab entryway.
Loved it! The staff was fun and friendly and we got a tour that was full of so.e rich and interesting history. Definitely worth the time and plan on going back in the future
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We learned things about the past from them. I would highly recommend this as an historical site to see.
A great collection and very nicely displayed.
Was a great little place to visit. Many interesting things to see. Brought back a lot of memories. Free to visit - donations accepted.
A must stop by on the way. Free entry.
The people there were great
Very welkoming place! And we lesrned a lot of new things from one of the staff (supposably owner). I never knew why a pickup truck was called a pickup truck! Do you want to know? Well then visit the museum!
Really enjoyed the museum. Came for a car show but was very surprised by the museum. Highly recommend if youre a route 66 fan.
So many great antique items to see. Nice t-shirts too
Great scenic drive old cafes with great food great sites to see some memories still intact
Laid back little museum with a staff so helpful and knowledgeable. Some great pieces of history. Can be seen in an hour or less.
A small, but delightful museum. Lots of antiques. Fun pictures and things you young folks would not even know what they are. Like a rottery phone.
Its cool I like the history
I was unlucky... Museum was closed when I tried to visit
It was great to see all the memorabilia and history here and the staff is super helpful and friendly. Had a lot of fun chatting with Patty, shes got a lot of knowledge about everything local and route 66 related! Would definitely recommend a visit if youre in the area
Tiny little gem. Pass through if you have time, the volunteers are really knowledgeable and will give you great insight
Very interesting the history of the famous Route 66. When wartime rationing and travel restrictions ended in 1945, Americans took to the road in unprecedented numbers, and Route 66 entered its golden age.
Super informative staff. Lou is a legend... what he doesnt know about the local area and route 66 is probably not worth knowing. Great opportunities for pics and gifts. I only wish we had put more time aside to spend longer in there. Defo be heading back to catch what we missed out on. So much to see in there. Truly amazing place!
Bill was very helpful and informative. Awsome place!
Very friendly atmosphere. Small, but interesting.
Brought us back to a happier nation.
This one is great. Lots of memorabilia displayed in a relatively small space. The staff are extremely friendly. I talked with 4 volunteers who work there. Three of them were veterans which gave us something in common. Everything from a display booth from a 1950s style restaurant to a VW microbus with all the Peace and Love slogans on it. And painted flowers as well. Other pieces showing both the history of Route 66 and displays about the local area. Highly recommended. The only downside is the limited hours. 10 AM to 4 PM on Monday thru Saturday and 11 AM to 4 PM on Sundays.
Great idea! Museum and a great store!
A destination stop .. must see
A fun experience with friendly local staff with endless stories to tell and many unique photo opportunities
We were greeted by our guide upon entering the museum. The display of items dated back to the 1920s to current brought back a lot of memories when I was younger traveling Route 66 from California to Indiana. Loved it all.
I love this place, step back in time and remember when! Friendly staff great layout of route 66 time machine! You will take pictures and theres a 50s juke box that plays hits of back then!

Route 66 is one of the most stunning highways in America.
I got a lot of learned experiences here ;)!
The attendants are very sympathetic and the museum very interesting.
Enjoyed seeing memorabilia, maps and stories of Route 66 including historical info on the Victorville area. Great gift shop!
Volunteers were helpful and friendly, and there was memorabilia galore.
A terrific remembrance of life on THE ROAD. From a model t to a VW love bus, from military memorabilia to the typical dinner, its all here (and dont forget Roy Rogers and Dale Evans!) I loved this stop along Historical Route 66.
So many neat things to see!!
Great little museum.
Lou is a volunteer here and he made the experience for me! From stories of his own experience to stories from the items in the museum, he really helped to frame my understanding of the pieces of Americana in the museum. I definitely encourage people to check out this free museum.
The store was closed the time I went but its a good place for pictures
A walk down memory lane/Historic
We go there every time we come to California cheap trinkets for giveaway to friends. Awesome people.
