Very well done murals telling the history of Vicksburg. Learned a lot and enjoyed the pleasant stroll through time.
Great park. 2 picnic tables. Lots for kids to do.
This place has great pictures and history painted into the wall.
If you like knowing history of an area its a great place to get a rundown of the amazing things that have happened throughout the years. Also theres a fountain that kids can play around in across the street. Ignore the bugs theyre mosquito hawks they eat mosquitoes.
Very nice murals along the levee, and a park/playground as well! If you go on the other side of the levee you can go right down to the water. There’s also a spot on the wall that marks how high the river has flooded at different times historically. Driving through old downtown Vicksburg to get here is an experience too.
Good place to hangout and walk around.
Peaceful to sit and look at the boats dock and undock. The waves from the boats were exciting to see since the river is up....
It was a good way to highlight history points of vicksburg. Worth a side trip if you are in the are
I really loved the murals and the plaques that told the story of each. Must stop if you go to Vicksburg. There are a bunch!!!!
The sprinkler park and playground are great for kids and well maintained.
It was so interesting to see and read about Vicksburg back in the day. The murals were awesome! If you get a chance to go, its worth the drive and the walk!
Detours to the route. But still beautiful scenery.
A great place to see some art for free. The murals are very nice and we enjoyed looking at every single one. There is some damage on the wall, which is sad.
Murals show the history with the diversity of our Mississippi river culture.
It was pretty fun! I went with some family from Canada and we loved the history lesson the tour guide told us about the murals!
Absolutely beautiful art. There are several murals painted on the wall entering the boat dock in front of the Mississippi River. Each mural dipects a historical place, event, or person in Vickersburg and has a placard below explaining it. Across from the mural is the ild depot museum 2 restraunts and a playground with a splash pad and local youth art on the play structres. If you take the river tour boat the murals and Old Depot Meusum are one of the stops along the route. A definite stop!
Beautiful images of the history of Vicksburg and the river. I wish I had more time to see the entire city better. It looks beautiful!
These are one of my favorite places to take Vicksburg visitors! Beautiful murals depicting the history of Vicksburg located right next to the mighty Mississippi. They are also conveniently located near the lovely Depot which now serves as a museum and across from a newly renovated, City provided, FREE water splash pad and play area for children. You can easily spend a good 30 minutes admiring the murals and then walk across the street to Catfish Row and cool your feet at the splash pad for the heavily discounted price of $0.00!
Truly enjoyed seeing the murals! I hope they last for a very long time for visitors to view from many generations! Beautiful!
Parking was a bit confusing.
Nice relaxing area by the water, plus meaniful murals ️
Beautiful scenes and awesome history to be enjoyed! Take the time to read the plaques! Also an awesome splash pad and playground for the kids nearby.
Very worth the visit. Lots of interesting facts about Vicksburg.
Had a good time learning new things.
Fun park
They are very nicely displayed and well lit. There is a nice sidewalk and it is overall very clean .
What a delightful way to be greeted when getting off our steam paddle-wheeler in this beautiful and historic town. If the weather had been warmer I could easily have spent an hour perusing these large and skillful artworks from one end to the other.
Very nice addition to the history of our little town. Thank you to the City of Vicksburg for this.
So beautiful
Beautiful and so much History
Love catfish rowe you can see the murials from thw park. Bathrooms are relatively clean and now are air conditioned.
So many murals done by so many different people. A nice little walk down a pathway by the river. There are some shops as well as a couple restaurants across the street if you get a fancy to buy something or maybe have a bite to eat before going back into the town of Vicksburg. This area is where a couple of the paddle boats drop their people off for the hop-on hop-off tours of Vicksburg
Lots of tourist parking to pull over in historic areas and read plaques take pictures, etc.
Enjoyed the view,
This is a great service for homeless and less fortunate in vicksburg. They run this thrift shop.it provides jobs for otherwise unemployed
