Very friendly and knowledgeable. Enjoyed looking around
I’m a guy who loves to try different wines. Mostly dry to medium dry reds. I just open a bottle of 2018 Valiant Ref Blend. All I can say is OUTSTANDING!! Thanks and keep up the great work of wine making!Rick C. Upstate New York
Passing through Vermillion and we noticed a billboard for the winery/distillery and decided to stop. They have a small little shop focused on wine, pretty much what you would expect. As we started our tasting, the owner came in and the overall experience increased greatly. He was engaging and made us feel appreciated for stopping in. After sharing a couple laughs, I decided to buy a bottle of the Full Saloon. There was also a bottle of the Apple Brandy purchased. A great experience and glad we stopped by.
I have been playing here for many many years and it is still one of my favorite places to play in this area! As an entertainer its an easy load in and you dont need a ton of equipment because the room is small to medium. Always elegant and the staff is very friendly from the owner all the way down to the newest helper. Highly recommend if youre planning an event. they are also a winery and a bed and breakfast so theres lots of things to choose from there! Small to medium wedding receptions seems to be what we do the most of there. Give them a call! - Joey / WOW Entertainment Inc.
If youre ever in the area great place to stay super nice staff would highly recommended
Beautiful view - very relaxing - good wine
I was in Vermilion a few days ago and I stopped by a store that carried some of your wines. I got my hands on the Buck Naked Mead. It was fantastic!I actually work for a food ingredients brokerage and I think we may have some products that might interest you if you had any interest. You make great stuffNate - Harlan Johnson and Associates
Very helpful and friendly. Thank you for making hand sanitizer for your community in the midst of COVID-19!
Nice view of homes and a steel shed. Came for the wedding reception and stayed for the glass found in my potatoes. Thats not a typo, a chunk of glass/decorative glass rock IN the potatoes they catered at the reception. The wine is probably good, maybe skip the food, they pretty much denied it stating they only used metal even though it was right there on the plate! They said we could get another plate at the buffet line...
This review is not about staying at the winery but about the wine itself. On a recent trip to Deadwood we spent a few nights at an RV park (Fish N Fry Campground). We purchased a bottle of South Dakota American Red Table Wine. After being on the road a couple of days we decided to open the bottle. This is the worst red wine we have ever tasted. It was almost like it was totally bad. After arriving home, I contacted Valiant Vineyards to share with them of our issue. To my dismay, I have never even received a response of possible explanation. With that, I share with each of you.
My husband and I had our wedding reception at the vineyard two years ago. The staff was great, and very accommodating. Adrienne was very patient and helpful throughout the planning process. The food was amazing! Our guests still to this day rave about how good the food was. We ordered the pot roast and the turkey, they were so tender they practically melted in your mouth. The entire experience was incredible, my husband and I joke about divorcing to have the experience of another reception here. The pricing for the reception was very reasonable, it would have cost five times the amount where we live.We recently stayed again at the vineyards, as before the staff was friendly and accommodating. We did a wine tasting and a tour with Adrienne. The wine is so good you would think you were in Paris. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was delicious! We would recommend Valiant Vineyards to everyone who is looking for an amazing wedding/reception location, a weekend getaway, or a place to spend the afternoon sampling phenomenal wine and talking with a wonderful and knowledgeable staff.
Their customer service could definitely use some improvements in communication—professionalism was lacking. My guests were not the ones holding the elevator. It was their own staff because they were moving tables. Granted their employee recognized that once the elevator came down. Still no apology.Second complaint, use less salt in your food. My guests complained about the saltiness of the food, and I had to agree. It was disappointing for the amount of money that was spent.Third complaint, the room that we had smelled like a moldy basement.Fourth complaint, the weather was rainy and cold and 2/4 of our tables were outside on a deck with no heating source. On a positive note, the view off the deck was pretty.
This place is great, I cant say enough. From the wine tasting to the hard stuff, as well as the bed and breakfast. Wonderful!
Love love love this place! Its like home away from home. Such awesome service, like family to us.
Great rooms. Really good wine. Incredibly nice people. I guess this is really western states hospitality...And they make their own rum, vodka and whiskey...Awesome !!!
We used this venue for our rehearsal dinner. Food was fantastic! Staff was very helpful. My niece was tired and fussy. We knew lemonade would perk her up, but we werent sure if they had any. They mixed up a special pitcher just for her! The area was quiet, we were the only ones there. Group of 30.
Friendly, fun staff, cool shop and wine! Erin and the rest of the staff welcomed us in and made us feel like treasured friends.
Excellent choice of wines. Free tasting. Very cool to see the first winery of South Dakota.
Good wine. As far as the tasting experience, I felt as though they were surprised we stopped in. Not exactly a touring experience, it felt like we were in their way. But again, the wine was quite good.
Great wines, if a little pricey for SD
Very personable people from the owners to wait staff to maid service.
B&B rooms are great and the breakfast was amazing. Choose this place over other hotels in Vermillion for the first time, Im glad I did!
