Vermilion River Reservation

My family and I checked out a new place today... We went to Vermillion River Reservation- part of LCMP. Beautiful property and plenty of space to spread out. We hiked the creek since it was dry, had a lot of fun! Found this hollow log... You can see straight through it, very cool!

Nice park for walking, sight seeing or pictures. LCMP does a great job with all of their parks.

Park kept very clean! And my kids just loved all the space to run around and be crazy. The river was pretty neat too! Such a picturesque place

Very peaceful and quiet when we visited with family. Several open areas to rest in .Beautiful view here near the waters edge.

Went to a fall wedding here. Ceremony at the amphitheater and reception at the pavilion, just beautiful.

Beautiful setting. Great that we had electricity and plenty of room for social distancing.

Great place to spend the afternoon with your family and friends. Access to the river, picnic tables with grills, hiking tails, play ground, amphitheatre and dog friendly. What more could you ask for.

Always nice.Park is clean and well managed. River, cliffs, rocks, and trails are a memory to cherish.

Cliffs were awesome. Water flowed out of the cliffs as if they crying. Kids were playing in river having a fantastic time.

Mill Hollow is a great place to share nature with the kids and get out and exercise. And hunting for turtle rocks is great

Nice playground, good clean bathrooms and a beautiful view on the river! Plenty of picnic tables in shade and sun as well as pavilions. There is a lot of park to explore here, I have only scratched the surface while passing through on a road trip.

Love to go down by river and skip rocks in creek.

Love walking the trails and soon will be fishing for steelhead in the river.

Love this park! So many great things to do, like hiking, fishing, playground equipment, frisbee golf, sledding, picnic areas and playing in the river, just to name a few.

Our kids love it here we always make a day out of it. Excellent place to go

The water was bath water warm. Nice scenery and shallow enough for the kids.

The bathrooms are so hot it feels like you cant breathe. Otherwise a great park.

This park is great for picnics, hiking, crayfish and its shale creek-like river which isnt much like a river at all and usually only inches deep throughout, and crossable in many places. The tall shale cliffs along the river are the most unique feature among the parks in Ohio. Ever since I was a small child I could stand and hear the shale falling bit by bit and echo throughout the cavernous ridge, and it still is to this day. The only caveat I have is this is advertised as a water trail. I strongly suggest rescinding that recent claim of water trail because it is NOT possible to kayak the river here! I wonder what compelled the park system to make that claim? The only time the river would be a water trail is during severe flooding. The Vermilion river is only passable by kayak further north of the park.

Great family location. Playground for kids and hiking trails with a nice river to cool off in the summer or enjoy a nice breeze and flowering trees in the Spring .

Good place to fish, hike, wade in the water, skip rocks, walk your dog, take you kids, have a cook out. Staff seem friendly

The Carriage House was spot on. Fits 50 plus people. Has a small kitchen and fridge for use. Nice set up! The Pavilions are really nice with plenty land to set up and play games, toss football & room for volleyball...

Good view, no problems with anything.

You can fish, hike, swing, swim. A little of everything for everyone

I always love the Mill Hollow cruise, such a beautiful drive and all the cars are amazing, love the music. The door prizes and the raffle, love it. See ya next year.

A very nice clean park to picnic, hike the well mark trails and enjoy the river. Being dog friendly is a added plus.

Nice place to get away, lots of space and parking, good hills for sledding, restrooms and great river access. beautiful rock formations and cliffs. If you have never seen this it is a must do!

Amazing, beautiful. This is one of the nicest parks to visit when I was a kid going up and an adults.

My childs school was involved in the Pioneer Days event. It was excellent. The guides at each booth were wonderful, and most of them were very gifted in making it interesting for children. It was very well done and engaging for both students and parents alike.

The trails are usually clear and not very muddy. Although mostly in shade, the trails drain pretty easily and have never been a real issue.

Wonderful place to enjoy with family and friends. Its a beautiful park!

Everything has changed. Water has receded so low. Pond is filthy. This place used to be so beautiful.

Quiet clean peaceful and a beautiful River View

Nice park. Has plenty of trails and the river is pretty nice. They must have been doing some tree clearing or something because the tractor tracks tore up ground and there was trees and branches in some of the trails. 1of the wooden walkways have been tore up for awile. Plenty of parking.

Ive been coming here for 30 years. I love watching kids, that have only swam in pools, slip and slide as they wade the river.

Vermillion River Reservation is a beautiful, clean, family park. I attended a wedding there, and we couldnt have been happier. We will definitely be coming back here again.
