Granville Island is a great place to visit. Bring the friends bring the kids bring the family. The waterpark is great when its open. On a nice sunny day theres a great park for the kids and running water. The community center is close by with toilets. Youll see plenty of Wildlife with raccoons Ducks, geese and skunks and the occasional coyote. There is also food and a market close by. Remember that Granville Island for the most part shuts down at 7 pm. There are a few private restaurants that stay open late.
Awesome in summer. Perfect location
Trees for shade. Good park. My daughter loved it.
The park is close to washrooms and has lots of activities for the little ones. Check the website to see if the water park is running and remember that there isnt a lifeguard on duty.
Wonderful walk in the nature, nice playground for the kids and all the necessary amenities
Slide is currently shut down which took a lot of the fun out of it
The kids and I took public transit from our North Van hotel to see this spray park after a tourist leaflet we had touted it as Canadas largest free outdoor spray park. After over an hour of travel time, we were a little dismayed to see that it really isnt that large at all. However it was clean and well maintained and indeed free, which is nice. I think my kids at 11 and 9 yrs old were a little too old for it, and it would be ideal for toddler aged kids. There is a nice grassy area for picnicking and setting up a day spot. There is small pond with geese and ducks to watch and lots of shady areas. It was busy, but not unbearably packed. Overall the experience was good, and added to our Granville Island visit in a positive way.
Great fun and wheelchair accessible
I retired here and Im lucky enough to live just a short distance away. I do 10K walks here regularly for fitness and enjoyment. Beautiful place.
Its at the community center. Nice little outdoor water slide when its open. Great to cool off in the summer with the kiddies. Change rooms available. Small playground area, still nice though. If you didnt bring and food or snacks, dont worry the market place isnt far away.
Plugs here are powered, good place to soak up some power and some sun
Nice place to visit over the weekend. Quaint shops. There is also a small pond where there is a family of Wood Ducks. Also a popular brewery. The waterfront is very nice and you can rent/hire boat for rides. I also happened to see a Whale watching trip advertisement board by the quay.
Water park sprinklers on..but not big yellow slide
Good place to spend your time ...
Fun for everyone. The kids loved the toy store. My wife loved the art store. I loved the food.
Beautiful place. Family friendly. Wheelchair accessible. Some free activities. Expensive products but beautiful
A very fun water park: several cool sprinklers/fountains and a water slide. Theres changing rooms in the community center right next to it. The water is very cold though, but most kids dont seem to mind.
It is a pretty nice water park. It is the only one I know of that has a water slide. It is only open on the weekends and there are lifeguards. It is a great tech to position right beside the water where the geese and ducks swim. There is a lot of green area and trees close by for shade. There is also a playground and sand right next to it. If you decide to bring a picnic lunch there are picnic table close by as well. Washrooms are right next door at the community center.
Very nice dont miss it in summer time
We loved to stay there couple of hours before the flight back. Lot of art galleries, studios and workshops, city park around.
Lovely afternoon with 2 grandkids. Beautiful sunny afternoon. We spend many hours to play at the playground. Plus enjoy the false creek while having our picnic
Fun outdoor space to take a break from all the walking around. Our kids especially enjoyed the waterside
Ive taken my daycare group here many years! Its fun and never extremely busy. They do shut down sometimes when there are water restrictions in place.
Great way to cool off on a warm day. Theres a small playground next to it if you want the kids to stay dry! The is also a water slide attendant, so parents may need to go down with smaller children. Wonderful area to just sit as well!
Great place to cool of. Tons of fun for kids all ages. Water splash, playground, sand pit with water.
Fulla Kids ... Happily playing in the sprinklers on one of the hottest days of the summer 2019.
Hard to find parking, lots of people, lots of fun shops, water park with waterslide was the best aspect of the whole visit imo.
One of the best water park in Vancouver! The water slide is awesome and free too! Lots of room to spread out, the dry playground is great too. My daughter loves it there! Do come earlier on a sunny day, it will get very full, especially on the weekend, with tourist too!
Fun and lively place, barely an island. Terrible signposting. Lots of places to eat and things to see, small shops galore
Great for kids
Great fun for kids
Great place for little kids. Clean. And safe
Great place for tourists. The market is interesting and full of goodies
This is one of the best water parks in Vancouver. They have a small and free waterslide here where you can go down with your kid together, or, if the kid is over 107cm, he or she can go down alone. Kids love the fire hydrants with hoses attached to them. Lots of shade beside the park as well as a massive sandbox. Change rooms and toilets available at the community centre next door.
Theres something for everyone to do. Make sure to take a ferry or aquabus ride.
Nice location with 3-hour free parking. Located along false creek and to the south of Downtown. Super funny island with all sorts of activities catering to different ages ranging from kids to elderly people. You could also rent a boat and enjoy family time on the boat! You could grab some local food in the public markets and bring some souvenirs home for your friends. The price is a little bit over the average. Beautiful place and gorgeous views just an inlet away from the busy downtown of Vancouver. All the year round, the island holds various events for both artists and tourists. There are also some famous extra-curriculum programs for kids, including painting, dancing, pottery, and etc.
Cold water combined with a miniature slide, best part is its free! A classic play area for the small to not so small, but young at heart kids in the group.Play area also has a attatched park and play area for those who want to stay dry, as well as a duck/geese pond.Hoses and other water emitting apparatus are abundant and the kids will be challenged find themselves without something to do.
Great place for kids especially young ones. 1 water slide and lots of sprays.
The waterslide is the main attraction and is just the right size for little kids (and big kids, too!)
I think that this location is meant for tourists. Great park, but usually very crowded. Accessible by bike, car, and wheelchair
Looks like such a fun place. We went to the childrens festival and the waterpark was on in the morning when it was too cold to use. We came back after a concert and it was hot and we were ready to play. The water was off. I called the community center and they had some strange excuse that they are only in charge of it on the weekends and someone else was in charge. The waterslide is never open. My kids were seriously disappointed bc every other spray park is open by May long weekend. Do not recommend.
Nice park, suitable for children. there are a public market for those want to discover canadian culture
Great kids space whit playground, spray park, and water slide.
Always stop here no matter what the weather. Great atmosphere to calm the soul and relax.
This place is excellent! It just be the best water park in Vancouver but its not always packed which is great. Lots of different water attractions to keep the kids entertained.
The experience that happened to me was something out of a 3 star Netflix film. Allow me to explain:So this little boy who was wearing nothing more than a poo covered tutu said that the slide is what caused his mother to become a slice of cheese. So I decided to go on it for fun. The supervisor who had five octopus tentacles and a hair on the tip of his bellend said it was OK to go. As I began my decent down the slide I felt a 4 inch stick creep its way into my rectum. The stick starts to speak Spanish to my prostate. As I reach the bottom of the slide, Will Smith shouted ITS REWIND TIME for then it happened again.
If you can manage to find a free parking spot and navigate your way to it, this water park is great for little ones.My partner and I took our almost two-year-old and he loved it. There is both a water and dry park. Theres also this great little fountain bit that flows down a channel into the sand for kids to get all muddy in.On a hot day, the shaded areas are hot pieces of real estate so make sure you park yourself and plan out where you sit based on where the sun is in the sky.
Playground and big waterpark make this a great place to play
My kids love this park. Is it very busy especially during the summer months but the location is worth the crowd.
The water slide is my 3 and 5 year-olds favourite thing on Granville Island - and is free of charge to use.
Take your friends and family definitely a fun place on a hot day
Wonderful place to shop for meat, cheeses, produce, flowers, cafes, IPA beers, and shops! 9-2-2019
I guess I expected more of a contained shopping area but the shops are somewhat separated (except for the market area). Aside from the splash park area, this wasnt that great for kids and the parking/traffic was terrible. We found a parking spot but the garage wasnt well-marked at all and we only saw it on our second circle of the island. This would be better if they built a large parking garage on one half the island and closed it off to traffic on the other side. My kids loved the splash park but it is better for older kids (5+) because its easy to lose track of the little ones (they can easily disappear over to the playground/pond/slides, etc.).
This is a beautiful area all together. The park is so much fun. Great playground and also a large sand/water play space that your kids will love! Bring a picnic, towels... Washroom close by in the community center
Kids loved that there is a free waterslide!
There is a little kid water park area and a big kids one too. Also a free water slide during the summer times. Playground with dirt/mud area as well. Recommended.
This looks like a fun place to hang out with the children and get wet in the process.
The donuts and small farmers market are amazing
Nice place too shop eat and ingioy the ocean theatre and more
Very nice water park with big water slide. One had to be 42 to ride alone. If shorter, can go down with an adult.Big water park for older kids and a little one for toddlers on the side.
Awesome little water park. Although I havent been there for quite a while.
Nice family place miss some equipments
I visited here in the winter but I am imagining it to be fun.
Lovely
Its rare putting a hot dog ingredients in Japanese food
Great way to experience the False Creek water front
A fabulous place for kids, wonderful water park, a dynamic playground equipment with water all year round, great parks and fields for running and Picnics. If you have a day in Vancouver and kids, take a little boat to Grandville island and come here for the day. Great any season, especially non rainy days!
Excellent scenery and a biking area by the water
Not very fun but still have a hood scene
Good place to rent a boat.
A nice and small park with picnic branches and a barbecue place. Located near Granville Island and has a great view.
Tons of fun for the kids. Water park, water slide, toys, swings, sand pit. Geese aplenty and a grassy field for picnicking
Good place for tourist
Fun family day outing or even for an evening out with kids. Lots of stuff for kids
One nice bigish slide for kids to play. Lots of sprays. Its free with nice playground adjacent. Very popular on sunny summer weekends. And its on Grandville island. Need I say more?
We are in love with this place! My son went down the slide about 150 times. And its free!
Great for kids and its free!
Little kids too small to go solo can go with an adult. No wait times when weather isnt perfect sometimes.
Great place for kids.
Was at drop in playgym. Clean. Lots of toys - even a bouncy castle (!!!) And only $1 to get in. Great deal. Highly recommend!
Great place to bring your young ones to cool down!
Always a fun place for the kids :)
Best free waterpark for kids
I walk here at least 4 times a week and I never tire of its beauty.
