It was great. Although the pandemic has really strained the fun and involvement we can have, things just arent the same. I understand they need to maintain the establishment but during this time I feel as if the price should drop as a lot of things were not open.
Excellent place for science and discovery, suitable for the whole family. Special exhibits include lego displays of the world tallest buildings plus hands on creative options for the kids. Lots of sections with science oriented experiments. Plan to visit the IMAX and all the other exhibits. Some limits due to COVID, but mostly all on track.
Awesome for all ages. They have adult nights and serve liquor. They also have murder mystery nights! So fun! Even on a regular day there is a lot to play with and learn. I love doing the puzzles! The IMAX is great!! Love the movies and docs they show!
This is a great place to remain rooted in the little joys of science experiments. Children or adults, whoever has an appreciation for science and innovation will have a great time here and want to keep coming back. Membership is a bit on the expensive side but worth it if you plan to go here even once per month.
What a fun place! This has something for everyone. There’s a preschool section for ages 0-5 and a special section just for babies that are crawling. The older kids loved the Eureka section. We watched a demonstration on the first level and the presenter kept the show flowing well and entertaining. The mirror maze was also fun. Definitely recommend this place.
Great place to learn and relax. Great staff and clean. We love going there
Must to visit place. Your kid will definitely love it. It has a lot of science experiments to try on and some extra information for kids which love to know why it works
Great place to spend time.
A wonderful place for kids even we all adults enjoyed it a lot. My four years old granddaughter was so excited and enjoyed a lot. She even didnt want to come out after many hours.
This was no doubt one of my best experiences as a tourist in Vancouver with my family. My 5yo enjoyed this a lot. Many things to learn and experience. The short talks were awesome. The maze was a”maze”ing :) Food was great, both quality and also the cleanliness and tidiness. The only issue was finding a parking spot. I wish they had provisioned more parking place for this great place.
Great place to spend time with 9 and 7 years old kid.
Staff were great, and the reservation process worked well even on a weekend.
Love coming out for a walk on the seawall here.
When Vancouver was chosen to host the transportation-themed 1986 Worlds Fair (Expo 86), a Buckminster Fuller–inspired geodesic dome was designed by Expos chief architect Bruno Freschi to serve as the fairs Expo Centre. Construction began in 1984 and was completed by early 1985. After Expo closed its gates in October of the following year, an intensive lobbying campaign was launched to secure the landmark building, relocate the Arts, Sciences and Technology Centre into the post-Expo dome, and convert the Expo Centre into Science World. With much government backing, the dome was obtained from the province and a massive fund-raising campaign ensued. Donations from the federal, provincial and municipal governments, the GVRD, the private sector, foundations, and individuals contributed $19.1 million to build an addition to the Expo Centre, redesign the interior and fabricate exhibits. In 1988, in a four-month preview, over 310,000 visitors came to see the new building. A year later, the 400-seat Omnimax theatre in the upper section of the dome was opened, extending upon the 3D IMAX theatre which was built in 1986 for the Expo Transitions film series.
This place is incredible, not just for kids, but also for adults. It explains what happens on earth where we are standing. Many mechanical structure to show us how thing works. For kids, they can learn so many things by visiting this museum. There are also free playground outside the museum. The parking space is abundant but pricey. Burger restaurant can be found inside. Hope my photos explain the rest. Enjoy.
Recently before Covid-19 I went here for a sleepover with my scout group and many other scouts it was the most fun I have had in a long time. We got watch a movie we got explore all of the cool puzzles games and physics contraptions all over the place and we got to watch a super fun presentation. The only problem is that this time and every other time I slept overnight there the place has been infested with rats.P.S.the views from the balcony at day and night are amazing
Good way to spend a few hours with friends and family. It’s for all ages. We love it:)
Science World was very fun. There is so much to see and do. The mirror room was a bit. The snacks are fairly cheap there.
It is a great place for kids and their parents to spend time and learn and do activities together. The best in Vancouver for us.
This museum was nice though some of the exhibits were under maintenance. I wish the price would have been reduced for that considering you have to pay for parking. This museum is very kid oriented with some adult catered exhibits. If you have kids, theyll love it, as an adult you may find yourself a little bored after reading the educational plaques throughout.
Great place to visit. Try to carry an umbrella in this weather lol
Science World was awesome lots and lots of different activities and attractions to do the only thing I would love to see is that they had some kind of flyer or brochure especially for visitors who dont live in Vancouver and would like to have a little Memento to take home
Personally, I prefer walking around Science World rather than going inside it. Its spot on the seawall is pretty prime so it’s easy to arrive there and get lost watching the world go by.
Bullet points:* This place is awesome* Beat the crowds by going at opening* Bring your lunch* If youre a teacher in BC, you get in twice for freeI just recently went to Science World for the first time in twenty years and I enjoyed it. We brought our 2.5 year old and he had a blast too! Lots of cool things to look at. More importantly, there are really great hands-on exhibits.Come early to beat the crowds. We went during spring break and it got busy a little before lunch. I cant speak for the weekends.Save some money and bring a lunch. There is a Triple Os on the ground floor and a little concession stand on the second floor but the food is overpriced. There are some places that you can plop yourself to have a little picnic. If youre a teacher, Science World has a Teacher Preview Program where you get two complementary admissions within a calendar year. Its a great opportunity to see what resources are available for the classroom.Recommended!
The science world is amazing. We have been to several science worlds around the globe and the one in Vancouver is in terms of wealth of exhibits our favourite. Kind and adult of every age (4-99) will have lots of fun! We especially like the are about recycling and renewable energy as well as the are on illusions and riddles. One can literally and easily spend three days in the science world ... we only had one, which is also why we did not see any of the 3d movies in the dome. Make sure you go to the 1st floor with the area to play with and experience physics and the forces that surround us. Considering the wealth of exhibits, the price ... though quite expensive ... is reasonable. However parking is shockingly expensive. Inside is a burger restaurant that also offers some health meal options. All is clean and well explained... apart from the missing solutions to the riddles. ;)
Great place to go, but does need some updating, went with my parents
Having lived/visited in Vancouver for 20+ years this was my first time here. Even though it is a must-visit destination especially for kids, but dont hold high expectations. Its looks really large and spacious from the exterior, but it was somewhat disappointing in terms of exhibits and activities. Entry price certainly isnt cheap, and requires additional fees for some activities. However, the facility is well maintained with clean spaces and washrooms.
I found the which changed the experience unfortunately. Lego exhibit was nothing special in my opinion. Unless you like seeing different buildings from around the world replicated in Lego, butscience world in Edmonton to be better than this location actually. But I think due to COVID, there were a lot of restrictions on what was safe to leave open and what had to be closed off from the public that was it. It just wasnt for me I guess. Kids had a good time actually building with the provided Lego (which was sanitized after each use).
We visited today while pandemic procedures are in place. I was nervous it was going to be so busy and “full of germs”, but it was my son’s birthday request to visit. Currently you book your time slot online when purchasing your tickets - and when I booked one week prior, there were so many available time slots. We got there 30 mins after opening and for a very long period of time there was only us and what seemed like 4 other families. We basically had the entire place to ourselves. It was clean, I even saw people sanitizing multiple times during the day. While it was absolutely wonderful to be there while it was empty (I finally got to set up the water dams how I wanted it with no one else’s kids wrecking it for me, hahaha) it was also kind of sad. Science World is hands down my absolute favorite place to take my kids - we normally go every 2-3 months. But I want to ensure there’s still a Science World to take them to after the pandemic is over, so please, please, please go visit!
Realpromovers.com and the Real Pro Movers family gather with all our folks at Science world for fun times and great learning experiences!See you again next month :)
Excellent place to visit. It takes more than one day to see all of the exhibits. Worth your money!
LOVE SCIENCE WORLD ALL GLORY BE TO THEE OLORD AMEN ERIN CHE NAIDOO IN JESUS NAME AMEN THANK YOU HEAVENLY FATHER AMEN
This is by far the best experience we have had at a TELUS world of science. Great hands on activities, the outdoor activities were really cool. Some things were unavailable but it did not detract from the overall experience. Very well set up, would love to come back and see the cat and dog exhibit. Worth the trip today.
The Science World was absolutely such a great family day out! It had all the things that a big family needed. We really enjoyed the weight machine in the Eureka room, the mirror room, and the prehistoric room. The downside was that we went on a very busy day and the cafe was very packed.
I was here 3 years ago and most of the exhibits remains the same. Only a small section of the exhibit is different. There hasn’t been much of new exhibits and I wish the exhibits change once a year to keep things fresh and attract more visitors. Parking on Science World lot is $4.25 per hour.
From building towers to dog shows this place is one of my favorite in Vancouver! I’ve been soo many times that I know the place by heart. Honestly fun not only for kids although very kids oriented! I would say maybe avoid going on days that are like holidays for schools if you want to be able to walk around more calmly! I would say science world probably take all day to go properly through all the rooms!
The best. I love our Telus World of Science in Edmonton so I used my pass to go to Science World in Vancouver. It was very enjoyable. Their exhibits were layed out nicely. And the activities were fun and easy to get into. The kids area was busy as heck. I wouldnt feel super comfortable with my kids in there. But it did look fun so finding a less busy time to go is recommended if you have kids under 6.Theres a quiet area exhibit which was neat and relaxing.
It wad a wonderful experience to look at exhibit s and watch demonstrations at the centre stage.
It is a wonderful place for everyone to go. From toddlers to elders, everyone can have an awesome experience
Impressive facilities. I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon with my while family ! Great memories
My kid is it 11 years old. we came here Second. My kid would be like to go hear. there are a lot of people. I recommend kids. there is funny place. children love there.
Who knew I would have my best ever time at Science World during COVID when you could have the whole facility to yourself!
Easily accessible. great place tokill time especially with the kids and even adults. prices area bit much and not much staff interactions. would be nice to have more staff interactions to make the experience much more fun! and great scenery around. due to price, and not much upgrade. it is those place you would want to go once every two years or something
Never been inside....but love walking/biking around it. Its beautiful around there.
Very amazing. this place. lots of things to see and do
Amazing spot to visit for tourists and locals. Family friendly and a nice way to spend a day in the city especially if it is raining. Take the sky train to the Main Street station to avoid having to find/pay for parking.
It used to be free when i went 6 or 7 years ago. Went today with the same idea as it was supposed to be for kids and found out that there is a 25 dollar charge now for adults. Very crowed on weekends. Overall its a great place for kids and adults can enjoy aswell but it should be kept at reasonable price for families.
So much to do and see! Fantastic for a family! Lots of IMAX options, little science shows and demonstrations, even tho it was busy we could move around and enjoy exhibits. Very interactive for children!
Wonderful place. We arrived late so, not able to enjoy as much as we could, but had a delightful time there.
I was attracted to come today because of the free admission for Family Day and was pleasantly surprised by how fun it was! Super educational and well-rounded with all kinds of scientific topics covered in all facilities. I think people of all ages from young children to adults will have fun here. I was impressed with how many resources being offered to expose children to coding at a young age. Greatly recommend you to come! With your family, friends or even by yourself. Just be aware that it’s definitely going to be noisy as majority of guests are children.
Great place for kids and their adults. Currently there’s the Lego display where many families were creating together. Family of 4 costs ~$95 so we applied this to an annual membership at the end of the day which was $225 (for 2 parents & up to 4 kids).
One of the Visitable place of vancouver.. Specially for Young one.. Alot of things to learn nd enjoy.. One can easily spent 3-4 hours here.. Enjoying the things.. Movie theater is also there for movie related to animals, environment etc
Very beautiful place to see and go with family or alone. There are a lot of great curiosities and experiences to enjoy and play. There also a movie room where you can watch good documentaries and discoveries about many topics. The kids will love it and have many fun.Do not hesitate on come and visit this excellent place.
Very cool, would repeat. Great for youngsters.
My beautiful child memories reside in this building : )
Was pretty fun, nice and clean event though it was very busy. Had njce staff throughout, the exhibits were very neat. Great place to take the family, interactive things for people of all ages, great place. Things always update, can check it out multiple times.
Great for little kids.I would like to have an interactive map in the entrance to know where I can go.It was a lot of fun.
This is an amazing place to visit. Science world is for young and old. The area where it’s located, on the Seawall of Vancouver, is beautiful to walk or bicycle and take in the amazing views.
Really nice place. So many cool things to see and lots of hands on stuff. One of the best science museum Ive ever been to. Highly recommend.
One of my favourite places when I was a kid and just returned for the first time in over a decade with my toddler and it was amazing! So many interactive features perfect for young and old. Cant wait to make more memories here with my son.
Very good exhibits. Kept my 11 and 9 year olds very interested and intrigued. Had some cool stuff for mom and dad too.
Been going here since I was a kid. Loved it then, love it now
I went when I had inspiration pass from the library
Perfect place to spend your time with kids. So many great facilities that you can stay here whole day (especially when its cold and rainy outside)
Dont shortchange yourself by coming late in the day here! Be sure to come early so that you can truly take in the whole mind blowing experience here! From extraordinary IMAX theater movie experiences to amazing interactive fun exhibits, you will be constantly engaged no matter your age here. There is even an exhibit here that you need to use your mind to control a moving ball vs another person doing the exact same thing! There are exhibits here that explore feats of strength, dexterity, creativity, daring and guile!Every little detail has been well thought out with even an area where the windows can be blacked out with the flick of a switch! My little boys particularly loved the water display area where they worked hard to discover how to build an effective dam to block a constant stream of water with blocks and other materials. They didnt even realize how much they were learning while having a blast! If only school could always be this fun too! There is a decent restaurant here as well that doesnt take too long and has plenty of seating so you dont have to worry about leaving and coming back. This should definitely be on your list while visiting Vancouver. Calgary has Telus World Science Center too, but nothing like this!
Great that they are back open. The wonder world is still not open, but still a great place to learn
Great precautions put in place. So happy to be back!!
Great location to learn science facts in a fun and easy way.
You need at least 2 good hours to enjoy this place with your family
Its Amazing, inside Theater is very big good surround sound, enjoy, knowledgeable
The many different attractions within the Science Center were very well done and were interesting enough to keep my family occupied for about 5 hours. This is definitely more geared towards children but can still be fun for adults. I would definitely recommend getting a ticket to one of the showings for the IMAX theater that they have. The screen is so big that it can be difficult to see everything all at once.
Take our grand children often. We all like the place.Recently came twice with two kids and they really had a great time. The Maze from Chicago is awesome. Several other newer exhibits are quite interesting.
This place looks gorgeous and is super fun. I bought their membership to take my 1 year old baby to hang out in crawlers area. He loves every single minute of it. Totally worth the investment.
The Pixar display attracted us. Turns out most of it is computerized technology on how things work. This was not for me. The statues were cool though. As for the rest of the place, good for kids. Its too bad that the staff work to keep the place clean when visitors throw their paper towel on the floor next to the garbage bin.
Fun for a few hours. If you have little kids especially theyll have a blast. The food is is okay, they do have a Triple Os downstairs for lunches as well. The activities are pretty fun and educational!
This place is perfect for kids all ages. Lots to see and explore while learning cool science. Would recommend getting the annual pass as single entry ticket can be pricey.
So much to see and explore, love the newer garden aspect outside! We wanted more environmentally focused and outdoor learning fun! This place is understandably expensive. Alas, as locals, I choose less extravagant outings with my littlin, as she is happy running outside and exploring nature. Nonetheless, a fun place for an all day experience, very busy / amusement park like, but, without the rides ;)
A wonder world for the children. It is the place to take the awe out of the children. Decorated with different science games the place let the children learn science while playing. This place is full of knowledge for the new buds.
This is undoubtedly one of the best experiences Ive had in Vancouver, its great for both adults and kids and youll want to take as much time as possible to get to know more about each exhibition... you wont get a day to know everything completely, so I recommend you set aside at least two days to visit it or leave very early a day from home to get to know whats in the place and familiarize yourself with the history of everything thats here.
Havent been to Science World in a long time but was there for the Elements Film Festival. It was well organized as Science World is a great venue especially because at the base of the omnimax theater we could play on a lot of their interactive exhibits while we wait for the theater to open
It was a great experience, but if you only come here for a few days it is not on the must list for me.
Great place for the kids. must get the membership. totally worth it. They have something new all the time.
A place to be recommended for children that will get amused by the interfaces and activities over there. The kind of mini kids seminar seemed so interesting and engaging that the kids were interacted with and even participated to make them understand what they were trying to convey. All kids should get a at least a chance to visit this place.
A fantastic experience for my family. So many interactive and fun educational exhibits!
Awesome place to visit for kids, lots entertainment stuffs.
Went last Monday with a friend and his son. Lots happening, so much information and variety and activities to choose from. The magician (Shawn Farquhar) was superb! Even has a great view of False Creek.Only thing I thought was poor form (cheap and cheeky) was no re-entry. At nearly $30/adult, with a stamp and dated ticket - why no re-entry? We were hungry and wanted hot food. There is a Triple O’s on the main floor, and a candy/chocolate bar counter elsewhere, but on this day, no hot food was available. (fire truck had arrived and left as we arrived). Perhaps if I’d asked someone at reception, rather than a young worker by an exit door. But the young gal was firm and didn’t permit exceptions. If you eat before you go, you shouldn’t have any issues!
We were in town from the interior and decided to spend the day here .. had a great time ! Lots of stuff for inquisitive minds old and young alike .. my favourite exhibition was the mind waves race!! There was a couple great demonstrations in the science stage as well as having triple o’s in the building to eat at as well as other strategically placed kiosks
Nice place for bringing kids nothin very special for adults. It is really well organized and serviced.
Best place for a weekend getaway. Lots of activities to do. Had an amazing time
One of my most favourite place for night photography.
The Omnimax Theatre was Awesome! We went during Spring break so it was crazy busy. The exhibits were fun and informative. Loved the fossils & skeletons, the infrared harp and the Ripleys Believe it or Not exhibit. A great way to spend the day!
