Great place. Allocate at least a few hours to see everything. With kids I spent 5 hours here, including a lunch break, discussed later in my review. Also visit the additional national Park service place right next door, within walking distance, Pearson Air Museum. For a sit-down meal head south over the land bridge and stop at one of the two establishments for some food and then head back and see some more. Kids are free and adults were only $10 or free if your child is in 4th grade this year.
Great for Pokemon Go. If you are super into Forts that are still capable of fort things...Its meh.
This is one of my favorite places to walk. Even with the buildings closed due to Covid, we so enjoy walking around and enjoying the nature.
Packed full of history and a great place to visit. Also good for 4th of july to watch spectacular firework show!
Great place to visit great historical site with lots to see
Lots of fun watching them recreate events from yesteryear
Great place to walk and view the garden.
Went for the 4th of July fireworks show. I highly recommend either purchasing tickets for the prime viewing area or make sure you are as far as possible on the west side of the main viewing area since there is a line of trees blocking some of the fireworks. The display was pretty good, but has been better in the past. I know that these displays are based on a budget and inflation but Im putting my two cents in. There are several food options to choose from as well as an aviation museum for Ft. Vancouver and a highly detailed model representation of the Spruce Mills, and a playground for kids North of the main viewing lawn.
This is a very nice national monument. I went here to say I have been to Washington. I got a stamp for my parks passport and bought a Washington bumper sticker. Bathrooms were cleanly. Staff was very helpful and informative
Beautiful place to enjoy an afternoon. The historic fort is worth visiting.
I really enjoyed going here with friends and checking out the historic structures. They also maintain a fantastic traditional garden out front, its a very nice place to visit.
I love history. I grew up in a house where my family stressed reading. Seeing history is always fascinating. I get to take my kids on my days off plus theres lots of pokestops so they can learn and play at the same time
A gorgeous piece of Washington and Pacific Northwest history dating back to the arrival of the British and Hudson Bay Company days and being a military district first for the British and then the US. Great grounds to stroll and have picnics at and right on the Columbia River. A must see! This is a great place to get an idea of what live was like during the Wild West. What it was like to live on a military post, the cool old houses, famous people that lived here in Vancouver (President Grant had a house here), livery stables, blacksmith, and the fort itself.
Pokemon stops and gyms galore
We really enjoyed walking around this old fort. We found the kitchen staff baking pies and the blacksmith hammering iron. But favorite part overall was the excellent demonstration garden.
Its a nice place. Big park. A lot of Pokemon Go attractions due to many poke stops and gym!!! My fav place to go to for challenge, has picnic table and big space to relax and walk around.
General U.S. Grant was once stationed here! Easy parking. They just need more public restrooms. Great place to go for a walk especially on a sunny day.
Wonderful place for a walk. Lots of pokestops for those who play. Landmarks for those who dont. Worth a trip for sure.
It was a fun experience
The Fort is a great place to spend sometime seeing how the residents in the area lived back when the land wasnt tamed.
Great to explore. You want history? Lots of it here and stories
I always come down here to go for a jog practically every day. The grounds are well kept and on a nice day you can see Mt. Hood perfectly.
Its so awesome to be able to walk through and connect with our local history. The Fort and garden are awesome!
One of our favorite places to hang out, have a picnic and stroll through the historic gardens
Went to the cultural parade today. Lovely park area and safe place for children and families waiting for parade to begin. Want to return soon to see other parts.
Very nice and a great place to learn about the past. Great activities for the kids
An amazing historical site to visit! So many old buildings to tour and see, a great restaurant in the Grant House, and if you play Pokemon Go, this is your place to stop.
Not all that impressive for a national park. Nothing to do there. No camping close by, no bbq grills or good picnic spots. Not enough activities no ranger talks, the staff is rude and stand oafish. Typical west coast unfriendly attitude. SIMPLY PUT.... BORING!
Great historical place, 1st ever Post Exchange
Nice place to walk around and explore. The garden was very nice.
Great place for quiet solitude in the metropolis which is Vancouver.
Fantastic piece of history in our own backyard! The fort is beautiful, the parade grounds are great for picnics and historical value is great for kids of all ages. Spend an hour or a day, youre bound to have some fun while youre there!
We had a fantastic time at the Fort for 4th of July! Great times
Wonderful experience each time we come and spend time. So much history
I just took my grandson to play Pokemon and it was a blast. Loads of folks playing and lots of adventures finding pokemon in a gorgeous park sprinkled with history.
Some spots are gravel. Some paved, lots of area to cover and great pokemon area.
Historic downtown is a nice area for picnics and Pokemon Go. My family goes all the time. Buncha stops.
What a great place to visit, great walking, history everywhere you look and very friendly staff.
We cruised around here killing time before we have to go to the airport a beautiful area I havent looked up the history to it yet but the trees were massive in gorgeous And the homes and other out buildings were very historic looking
Great place to go with the family for a walk. The park is dog friendly and there is always something to do.
Lots to see and do. Great place to take the family.
Lol best Pokemon go spot in Vancouver that I know of
Great experience through the fort, during the summer, the winter candle walk, going through the garden, checking the trading Post, the blacksmith etc... Great staff! Beautiful park
Allow yourself to be immersed in a Time where life was rugged distant and always filled with some kind of obstacle that was overcome. Engage staff they are very knowledgeable.
Lots of info and amazing photo opportunities
Great place to visit to learn about local history. The park is beautiful and is great for walks. It is pet friendly as well!
It was so beautiful and loads of fun! But the vendors could have been a little more helpful like knowing where the bathrooms outside the prime viewing area where located
Great place to go including the museum and ITS FREE!!!!
Best pokemoning in the area.
Always clean and great to walk.
Its historic! Its fresh! Its clean! Its a national treasure. Go and check it out!

This site is beautiful, rich in history and culture. Come and spend the day here, there are so many things to take part in!
Great time for the whole family! Hands on learning. Experience the trapper days
Visited the costume shop, interesting.
Love it all around. So many things to do from the museum, officers row, aviation museum, garden and a park. Plenty of history to read along the way around the fort!
For the historical value its beyond amazing so much too look at. For pokemom go its a must stop. Poke stops all over great amounts of spawns
Very nice place to learn about Vancouvers history and roots. Also a great place for Pokémon go for those players out theres
This is a great area to walk around, their are so many buildings here . They are being renovated it will be neat to see what is done with all these unused buildings
Nicely Maintained Historical Artifact. Great place to spend a half or full day.
It was a great place filled with history and knowledge of world war one and the Hudson Bay Company and when the Army came to the Pacific Northwest
Great history and preservation. Clean and well maintained.
Very helpful in helping us with maps and information on dispersed camping
Nice large area, kids playground and picnic tables.
