Ox Ranch

This was truly a fantastic time. The property is huge and there are animals everywhere. My daughter was able to feed and pet a kangaroo, giraffe, huge tortoises, deer, and several other animals that were friendly enough to come over. There are many activities for those who arent there for the hunting and they are adding more and more. There is a tank/military/WW II museum they the kids loved exploring. For hunters who dont like fenced in hunts, the size of the land and the variety of terrain to hunt definitely provides for fair chase hunting. You will put in effort to find game and the animals just may get the best of you more than once. My son was able to get his first deer after many hours glassing and figuring out just what worked for him. The quality and selection of animals was astounding. The cabins are beautiful very well setup. The food was delicious and they offered pizza and chicken strips for the younger picky eaters. The prices are far better than an all inclusive package at Disney World and my kids and way more fun at the ranch. Everyone is very friendly and get a family feel from everyone.

Great place for a hunting trip :) food is amazing and can be custom tailored to your liking, alchol is free and self service at the bar and in your own cabin. guides are very helpful and will assist your needs all day. best spot I have been to for guided hunts

What a great place! Had a good time. Great food too! We booked on the week day and had the place to ourselves. Got to do a little hunting plus some safari game spotting. Our guide Cody was full of energy and was a great help at making our experience awesome.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST IN THE USA!!!! You would have to travel to Africa to equal the wildlife and ambiance. Foodies, this is the place!! Great fare!!! Staff the best and friendliest, will accommodate your wants. BEST FOR THE MONEY ANYWHERE.

Me and my partner went to OX Ranch on Friday, not really knowing what to expect. We did not know we had to book, but despite that the host we still offered an hour safari in JEEP on the ranch accompanied by a guide. Chelsea guided us during the hike and gave us excellent explanations of the species living on the ranch and their missions. This is the first time that I saw a ranch as well laid out and with a concern of protection and well being of the species that they protect. At OX Ranch, all activities are practiced with the objective of protecting the animals that live there. This is clearly a must in Texas and we will definitely stay there on our next trip to Texas. Awesome place. We had a blast! We did the drive and shoot the tank experience. What a fantastic weekend with my sons. We shot flame throwers, automatic machine guns and of course the main gun on the Sherman tank. The place is amazing. So many animals to see. We also saw dinosaur tracks that were left in a creek bed. The food and lodging was awesome as well. Ryan our guide was great!

What an amazing experience for bachelor parties, I recommend if youre looking for a bachelor party for guys to shoot stuff and do stuff like that this is the place to be. Sam was a really great guy. He was young fun and knowledgeable.so much fun man stuff to do such as shoot tanks shoot flame throwers all machine guns, hunting writing on the Ford Raptor which was dope. We had a bachelor party of eight and we had such a blast. Lodge and rooms were beautiful what that place must have cost a fortune to make but it was so beautiful. I highly recommend going here I was one of the best experiences my life and I truly mean it. Overall the pricing was not bad at all considering if you went to a bar and spent money with the amount of liquor we drank. Owner was a young cool guy everyone there was awesome food was great portions were good, not too much where you dont want to do anything. Overall fantastic time.

Spectacular stay. It is like going on an African safari at a mere fraction of the cost. Me, my wife, and our 11 month old son went to stay in the cabin and hang around the ranch and see the animals. Way more than what I was expecting, and got so much more for my moneys worth.

This place is absolutely amazing! They have anything and everything you could want and more! The animals are fantastic the activities are out of this world and the staff is out of this world! Chelsea is the best and took such good care of us!

Just amazing. Exotic animals, tanks, machine guns, dinosaur tracks, caves, that alone is worth it. There are many more activities than that. Chelsea was our guide and she was fantastic, very knowledgeable and great with children. Can’t wait to go back.

Amazing. This was one of my best trips ever. The local is beautiful, with plenty of exotic animals and activities. The lodging (cedar cabin) was beautiful, comfy and spotless clean. Our guide, Chelsea, was nothing less than amazing, and made sure our trip was unforgettable. 10/10 must go!

Spectacular, out-of-this-world safari experience... right here in our own backyard! Our tour guide, Candace, was the best. The wide range of animals was wonderful. Getting to experience the animals up close, getting to feed and touch them was a dream. Came home with beautiful pictures and memories. Best Christmas gift ever to my parents and ourselves ever!

Went to the ranch with 8 of my buddies for my bachelor party. Ox ranch absolutely took care of us and showed us the best time we could of had. The hunting was great and the food/lodging was even better. Our guide was Dylan and he is by far the best guide I’ve had on a hunt. We will be back every year going forward.

Ox Hunting Ranch is the most incredible place. While William,my husband, and I did not go to hunt, we will go back to do just that. We went to arrow head hunt. Many of you know that Billy, Williams father, passed suddenly in Feb this year. Billy was an avid arrowhead FINDER. He use to take us to his sweet spots on the land he managed as a forrester. It was always so much fun finding pieces of history lost to the earth. This is how we found OX Ranch, they had surface arrowhead hunting... Along with the many many other activies outside of hunting. I fed a kangaroo, giraffe )as you can see in one of these pictures), camel, ostrich, some sort of deer type animal... We went into a cave (where Ricky our guide really got me with a surprise that was hidden inside... Thats when I cursed at em), We spent 2 days 4 wheeling and jeep.riding all over the ranch. We saw animals that you can only go across the ocean to see and we saw these up close and personal!! We were there when they uncovered 5 new Texas T-Rex dinasour prints... Half the time I felt like we were on an African Safari (it helped that Ricky Kay our guide actually is from South Africa). It was an all around wonderful experience. We also got to use these amazing night vision goggles which we used to look at all the amazing stars that your naked eye cannot see. The whole night sky was lit with tiny pinholes of light. Breathtaking. We were there when the Red Stags were in rut, they moaned endlessly day and night. But let me tell you this, Ricky (and his sidekick Duno stinky dog ) our guide, is a true treasure at the Ranch. He literally made our experience one of a kind! What an amazing story he has lived and what an amazing human. William and I hold so much respect and love for him. This man!! Damn him, he pushed me (paitently) to do things I thought I could not do; gave us gifts we will treasure for life. Ricky can spot animals from so far away I think he is bionic! I literally cannot say enough great things about Ricky! If you ever go to Ox Ranch, ask for Ricky Kay to be your guide, I guarantee you will get your target! I mean this man use to do Safari Hunts in Africa... He is the real deal! Food? Best hands down food. With Williams allergies, they made sure he was not served anything he couldnt have and it was all delicious. Ribeyes, lamb, wild game burgers.... It was all delicious and prepared by a super cool kitchen team who love what they do.Office staff? Amazing! Everyone is there to ensure you have a great time and are SO nice...special shout out to Chelsea, another guide, who is also super awesome.Accomodations? Awesome. The Kentucky Cabins are freaking sweet!! Stocked with beer, snacks, whiskey.... Awesome jet tub (which I used every night ), the back porch backed up over the river and every morning and evening you could see herds of different animals bathing.If you made it this far, and were wondering if we found any arrowheads.... the answer is yes!!! Really cool ones too. There are several Indian mounds on this property.....amazing history, amazing Ranch and amazing people.Ricky Kay ...we cannot wait to see you again in March for a proper hunt.

I’ve been to the Ox Ranch twice, and was greatly impressed both times. The Ox Ranch is located half an hour from Uvalde on some of the prettiest Hill Country acreage I’ve ever seen. They’ve created a series of little lakes on Live Oak Creek and have hand-made a one of a kind timber-frame lodge next to them. The lodge has every convenience you could hope for including a pool table, a huge fireplace at each end, shuffleboard, card tables, wet bar, lots of couches and seating areas, etc.Eric (the chef) is friendly and approachable and cooks up some of the most delicious dishes you can imagine. He uses prime beef, venison, fowl, bacon, and all sorts of exotic meats to create unforgettable meals. The food is simply some of the best I’ve ever eaten.Guests stay in old-fashioned wooden cabins under hundred-year-old live oaks that are near but not too close to the lodge. They look like something from a Lonesome Dove set but sport all the amenities you would expect from a 5-Star outfit.The Ox hunting staff are professional, good-natured, and clearly love their jobs. Larry has hunted all his life and has gained a wealth of knowledge he draws on to put you on your game. They have the best archery blinds the world has ever seen that get Bowhunters up close and personal. The game animals are both plentiful and of excellent trophy quality.My kids and I were blown away by the incredible collection of tanks, rifles, mortars, bazookas, and armor at the tank barn. The guys were friendly and knowledgeable as they gave us the grand tour and invited us to climb around on their dozen or so drivable tanks and armored transports from all over the world - including the only remaining “fully-functional” Sherman tank.From start to finish, the folks at the Ox go out of their way to treat you right and make you feel at home. If you’re trying to find a hunting ranch for a corporate retreat or a new family getaway, look no further.

I have hunted all over the world and I was blown away when I got to OX. Thanks to Carlton and the staff we had so much fun we extended our stay an extra night. While there we turned a kid that didn’t like hunting into a hunter and is nowhere is ate up with it!! It was such an enjoyable time I decided to book a trip again in two weeks for the whole family. We were suppose to take the kids to Disney but with Covid19 that’s not happening and my 6 year old boy that was with me this time already said I would rather go to OX then Disney! So now we are bringing the whole family and I know it will be a blast and safe as all the staff took all safety measures during our stay. Once again thank you for the hospitality!

Just got back from Ox Ranch. I was only there to film some other hunters that were there, did not hunt any myself. The property is one of the best looking places you will see. Driving over the ranch for 4 days, you will notice how much pride goes into the ranch. There is no trash littered on the place, and everything is beautiful. Secondly, the lodge, dinner area, and cabins are top notch. One of the most well thought out, designed places I have been to. The food was no different, very good. And the guides are very very knowledgeable, and very respectful. I have been to a lot of hunting outfits, and this one is at the top. Highly recommended!

The Ox Ranch knows how to take care of its guests! Everything was outstanding from the lodging and meals to the hunting and other activities. Paul and Cody were our guides and they worked hard to ensure we got opportunities to take the animals we were hunting. I cant say enough good things about the ranch and the operation. Book a trip and you will not be disappointed.

Great places 2 relax and have fun. They have a pool, Hot tube, beautiful cabinets. They have a lot of wildlife deer, antelope, birds, and if u want to blow up things u can blow up a tank, trucks. Great places.

I made a Google account just so I could leave a review for Ox Ranch. My family and I stayed this past weekend and had an absolute blast! I cant say enough good things about this place. Its been three days since weve been gone and I am still so sad we had to go.We came down for an Axis hunt for my brother, and was guided all weekend by Buck. Buck was so fun! Austin, Patrick, and Cody were just as fun and nice, too. Buck was very patient with all 200 questions we had about all the different names of the animals, shared some history about the ranch with us, took us on our Jeep excursions to different parts of the ranch, got to check out the Big Blinds, took us to see the Dinosaur tracks, and took us to the caves! My brother and mom also did the army tank tour. Seeing all of the different animals while riding around made you feel like you were out of the state of Texas. It was amazing! Getting to pet and feed the Kangaroos popcorn made my entire trip, and also getting to see and feed Buttercup the Giraffe was just as cool! If you are visiting the ranch to hunt - you will NOT be disappointed. Game is plentiful!The lodge, cabins, kitchen, and surrounding grounds were beautiful. Cabins were very clean and had everything you needed! The ranch fed us an amazing breakfast, an amazing lunch, and an amazing dinner. The chef and the girls that worked in the kitchen were so sweet and kind, and made sure we had our bellies full when we left. On Saturday they even had a crawfish boil that the ranch guests got to join in on the fun! Everyone made us feel so welcome.I could go on and on about this ranch. If you are looking for an Exotic game ranch to visit in the state of Texas - I highly recommend visiting the Ox Ranch! We left with amazing memories, and a beautiful, mature Axis buck that will be processed for many of meals. Cant wait to go back! Thanks again, Ox Ranch.

From the moment I arrived I was greeted and met my PH Rickey May within 5 minutes. I was introduced to the lodge, dining area and then my room. When I arrived in my room it was very clean and comfortable. My PH Rickey May was the consummate professional the entire time we hunted together. An amazingly unique place. We had a group of 8 people hunting for four days. You never know what you’re really going to get when you do book a hunt until you get there; and the OX ranch did not disappoint us. Our cabin was beautiful and clean. Plenty of space, comfortable bed, satellite t.v.and mini fridge. We got checked in, settled in our cabin and our guide Buck took us for a tour/ ride of just some of the property to see the animals and area. The amount of work that has been put into this ranch for what it has become is incredible, and they are still doing more. Buck worked hard for us in making sure we got a great animal for what we were hunting. We hunted, did a tank ride and went to see the dinosaur tracks. The tank ride was not just a ride but a full experience. Very knowledgable staff about all the machinery there; it’s sort of like a museum there is so much to see. Would have loved to gone paddle boarding and swimming but In January just to cold even for a Minnesotan. The food was really good, for myself almost too much, and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. My personal favorite memory will always be Scarlett (the kangaroo) who would come visit us every morning. We will definitely be returning back to OX again.

Ox ranch was AMAZING. They have more exotics than I’ve even heard of. The food was exquisite, the cabins were pure rustic luxury. They have everything taken care of for you. Their care of the animals is the best you could hope for such awesome creatures. Everything is clean, well managed, well thought out, the animals are so content and happy and it really shows: they need for nothing. Which is impressive considering the shear size of the herds.The owner was such a kind, down to earth person, and truly wanted us to enjoy our visit. The overall experience was a dream. The activities were out of this world, and those were only made better by the extremely friendly, tentative staff (particularly Chelsea & Glenn). These two are an absolute asset to the ranch, when staff can make or break an experience- they absolutely went above and beyond for us and are such genuine people as well. We’ve never been treated so good by a place of business.We will definitely be back & have already invited other to come as well. We look forward to many trips here. We made so many great memories on the first one already!I’d much rather come here every year than Disney world, honestly. Ox Ranch is what my dreams are made of.

The best time of my life i have so many hunts to plan my guide micheal was the best. It was so exciting. There alot for non hunters to. The food is wortg the drive. Usaly hunting you super burned out it is nice to come in have a cold pitcher of water waiting and food served. The rooms were above and beyond.

We barely scrapped the surface of all there is to do out here. Went with a group of friends and we were going to shoot large guns and maybe ride in a tank. You drive in and immediately feel like your on safari. All kinds of wildlife in a uniquely Texas setting. Ended up only shooting and had a great time. Appears to have family activities, I’ll dig into that and see about bringing everyone down.

Absolutely stunning! My friend and I spent two days here driving tanks and driving all over the ranch, hiking and going through caves. Our guide Trevor was amazing and all the staff were great to deal with. Just a beautiful time and amazing quality of service. Highly recommend and will for sure be visiting again! Anyone who is unsure if it is worth the money - absolutely!

Very unique and cool experience. On arrival it feels like entering the gates to Jurassic Park, with lots of exotic game wandering freely. I went for a bachelor party and we got to drive tanks and shoot big guns. Great place to visit for a big special occasion.

Wow. What an incredible experience at Ox Ranch. Their entire team did a phenomenal job in catering to our needs as a group. Their facilities are amazing, the food was excellent and service top notch. The attention to detail throughout the entire ranch was nothing short of spectacular. The animals are well cared for and have an incredible life. I can speak on behalf of my entire group that we are still in awe at how amazing this place it. Were all talking about going back as soon as possible. Its pricey yes, but you get what you pay for.

Amazing place! Save up for this special trip because though it will cost a bit, its so worth it! The entire staff was great! We had a great time with Austin! We drove a Sherman tank, fired historical weapons, went spelunking, drive through photo Safari, found dinosaur tracks, played classic video games, and hand fed a kangaroo. The food was delicious! This is a dream vacation spot for photography and military history. They will chat with you on the website to plan the perfect trip. We stayed in the Barracks, no TV and kids didnt complain once!

Went down to OX for a 3 day trip with my dad and brother and it was one of the funnest trips I’ve done. The staff was extremely friendly and our guide, FX was very professional and helped us bag all the animals we were targeting. The amenities of the ranch were world class, the main lodge was beautiful and very clean as well as our personal cabin. Amazing ranch and amazing staff 5 stars all the way.

This was our first visit and really didnt know what to expect here. We planned a birthday experience for our 10 year old to shoot two weapons he has talked about wanting to shoot for almost 2 years. This place is AMAZING!Spencer was SUPER GREAT to work with. He helped provide even more memories from his experience.This place is an outdoorsmans dream.Thanks again Spencer!

The Ox ranch stands out again. We experienced extreme rain and flooding while we were there and it didn’t bode well for hunting for a few days. This was no ones fault, but Mother Nature, but we had to get back. Jason and our guides took very good care of us and because of the great customer service is why we will back soon!

Spent weekend here with friends. Cant begin to describe what an awesome place this is. Everything from the land and animals, to the facilities, to the activities and the guides. You feel right at home, want for nothing and just have an overall really great time.

Cody worked hard the whole time we were there, fighting the weather and full moon and when all looked lost he teamed up with other guilds and was able to seal the deal in the last hour. Food was better than I have had any where and accommodation was out of this world. 5 star all the way

My brothers and I took my father there for his birthday to drive and fire a WWII Sherman Tank, and shoot some machine guns. Really cool place. Great staff.

Tanks and guns!

We drove 4 wheelers and enjoyed the beauty of nature and animals all around us. We are NOT hunters and went there to enjoy the experience of being together as a family and seeing the animals and the scenery was amazing. And the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Best ranch I have ever hunted on!! I have been to some of the most exclusive ranches in the State of Texas and this one takes the cake by far!!From the time I arrived, the staff was there to offer up amazing experience after amazing experience. I got to shoot a Russian machine gun, hang out with a kangaroo, nap in a pristine cabin, eat a 5-star chef-made meal and pet a camel all within the first hour of showing up.The owner and staff treated me like they had known me all their lives and the service was top-notch. We did a hog hunt out of a deer stand that tops anything Ive ever seen and Ive been hunting on private ranches in TX for the last 25 years. After that, we did an aoudad style night hunt and saw more animals than I could imagine.Going forward, I will only hunt on THIS ranch for personal and business entertainment. The prices are phenomenal and I cant say enough good things about the staff and property. Take the family or take your clients - either way, it will be an unforgettable experience for everyone!

My friends took me here for my bachelor party. Now when the website says adult playground they mean it. I was able to do everything I wanted to do as a man lol. Shooting big guns, fast guns, and cool guns. They treated us like we lived on the ranch and to very good care of us. I felt like the employees and the owners were not just that but part of our vacation. Just people out there having fun and creating experiences with us. Didnt have the greatest experience. My family and I looked on their website to see all of the amenities that they offered. We got there and were told that we needed to book in advance. No where on the website did it say that. Also they didnt offer even half of the stuff their website says they offer.

No PIGS!I’m fortunate to have been on guided hunts from Argentina to Canada. So, when going on hunts, I always keep my expectations grounded. Subsequently, I was blown away by the ranch itself. Simply put, the OX Ranch accommodations are World Class. The lodge, cabins, and the food was the best I have had. The architecture and décor looked rustic but felt lavish.Our group of six booked an all-inclusive pig hunt, and thus our primary objective was to hunt pigs. Three of our six hunters never even saw a pig. Of the other three, there was only one pig killed, one hit, and one missed. Hunting can be like that, sometimes it’s incredible, sometimes you go home empty. But after hunting for two nights in multiple stands and with state of the art night vision, it was clear, the pigs have been virtually eliminated.To save the hunt, one of our guests chose to take a Scimitar Oryx, and that was a great time. The time at the Tank Barn was also amazing and gave me some memories with my friends that I will always cherish.In the end the Ranch honored their guarantee of opportunity and refunded three of our hunters 50%. But after waiting for a year, paying top level fees, and hoping to shoot some pigs, we were disappointed. I can recommend the ranch for a great time, but don’t have expectations of shooting pigs.

Incredible place

Myself and four other friends booked an all inclusive pig hunt at the Ox Ranch about a year ago. For months we checked the game cameras, discussed the best guns to hunt with, dreamed about shooting pigs with night vision goggles and talked about how epic a pig hunt at Ox ranch would be. We arrived in San Antonio Sunday night and drove down to Uvalde Monday afternoon. The ranch was easy to find and beautiful. The exotic and plentiful game animals only added to the excitement and anticipation of the hunt. The ranch was spectacular and the cabins were incredible.We dropped our gear and headed to the range, in time to sight in our guns and get ready for the evening hunt. The first evening we hunted in twos, inside blinds. The diversity of animals was incredible but unfortunately no pigs. That night we were taken to the Big Blind, again no pigs. That morning we hunted blinds individually to increase our odds of seeing something, one hunter saw three little piggies. That evening there was a spark of success, one hunter shot a pig. Later that night we hunted with night vision and guess what...........no pigs.Of course in between the hunts we took full advantage of touring the tanks, shooting machine guns, and I highly recommend the PAC-40 experience. These things were all great distractions but we flew to Texas to shoot pigs. Even as much as Patrick (an awesome guide by the way) hustled to put us on pigs, we still never got into them. For our next pig hunt we will be looking elsewhere and so should you.

I have stayed and hunted this place 5 times now. EVERY single time it has only got better. I hate that some of the others on here didnt see pigs, but we have shot more than our fair share. My wife went night vision hunting this past Saturday night and shot at least 8 to 10 pigs. Highly recommend an Axis, Aoudad, or Blackbuck hunt. Ask for Larry to be your guide!

Best cabins and food. You will see more game in a day of hunting then you will probably see in an entire season back home.

Awesome.! Just freaking awesome.! It was nice meeting Brent Oxley and his crew. Ted Nugent kicked off the first public hunt on his Birthday Bash. The FOOD was hands down.!!! Three times a day, the food was out of this world. Duck, Lamb, Chicken Brest, BBQ Hog, Other Pork, Deer Liver stuffed in Chicken I think, all the deserts where perfect for a sweet tooth. Appetizers where just as good…. Axis & bacon and organic avocado sauce & cheese.!!! My guide (Larry) was on top of his game, and I killed a 15-point buck on my 2nd day. It’s the best hunting ever. I have been a guide in 1994 – 2000 in multimillion dollar ranches and NEVER SEEN THIS STUFF. I think they lost money on me, THANK YOU OX RANCH for giving me the hunt of a lifetime. Troy A.
