Nice trails. Lots of ATVs on the old river road trail. The Deer Path trail and Ridge trail where very quiet though.

There are several trails going off the larger dirt ATV/walking trail. Porcupine and Homestead trail is very good for kids. Make sure you have closed toed shoes as there are some rocks and roots in the trail. Most trails are only about 1-3 miles, however the trails connect for some larger one the further in you go.

Cool ruins of old buildings on trail. Multi use so be careful if hiking.

Great put in for paddling. Current is negligible in the summer. Decent walking trails. If youre in to ATVing, it looks great for that. Im not into that, so I wouldnt really know.

Great place with wide trails. Also a lovely little picnic area with a pretty view of the water. The butterflies were beautiful, but the place was a little buggy.

Very nice park. Parking at 1005 Center Bridge Rd. Didnt visit the small walking trails but did walk along the main trail. Didnt get very far as it started to rain. Will definitely be back to try out all of their trails. If I lived nearby, would be a good running trail. Dirt Parking lot is a bit bumpy.. Boat dock near the bridge.

Beautiful hike through the forest, and ATV trail. Lots of old stone walls, and a few old stone foundations. Evidently we were in what used to be fields and old homesteads, but nature has reclaimed it. Trails are well marked, moderate to navigate with the rocks and roots in them but not too steep. Little less that 1 mile into a gorgeous picnic area, under a shelter, in a meadow on the river. Theres also a composting toilet there thats in a shelter. Used the side by side ATV for getting those who didnt want to hike down to the picnic area

A nice State Park along the river. The campsite on the islands would be a great place for kids to see nature.

My teenage daughter and I went for the first time to hike the River lands this morning. I picked the homestead trail because it appeared to follow the coast for the most part. I truly thought the views would be worth it. I was wrong. Obviously, I should have assumed being in a boggy place this early in spring, that the bugs would be ferocious. Oh well, bring plenty of bug spray! And if you walk fast enough you can kind of outrun them. No views of the water except when you finally come out by the picnic area. And the second reason I chose that trail was due to the historic homestead foundations that was mentioned. We did see one, and a partial one behind it which I did think was awesome. The homestead trail was well marked at the beginning of the hike, but once you’re farther in, it was a guess at times if you went this way or that. The blue paint on the trees was pretty faded and sparsely spaced... thankfully there was wooden bridges over the really wet spots, and for that I thank you. Trail heads do have wooden markers with the trail name on them. Overall, easy hike, glad I went, won’t be back.

Not youre typical State Park, its just a bunch of woods with just a few trails cut in to it..Would rather see picnic tables alongside the river, a park for children, something a little more enjoyable

This is a very large park beside the Androscoggin river. On weekends there are lots of ATVs (I hate ATVs) on the main trails. If youre hikers like us there are separate hiking trails beside the river. Avoid the weekends and you can have the place to yourself. Beautiful

We hiked some trails today, and we had a great time. The only problem was that Google maps couldnt get us to the park. We wandered this way and that. At one point, the Google map provided on the website had us on some strange road a couple of miles from the park. It told us to park alongside of the road and walk to our destination. What?!In the end, nice people pointed the way, and we were able to get there. But if not for the kindness of strangers, wed still be wandering around, looking for the entrance.
