This is a great mission and a beautiful shop. When I first met Doug he seemed like a normal person, not like the celebrities I have met before. He was a down to earth man that wanted to get things done. My first tour led to a short trip to volunteer and I’m hooked. I will do anything that’s needed to help push the ship forward. This is my second trip and I am glad the coal tar is mostly done because I hate painting. I did come with 5 pairs of pants in case it was needed. My specialty is electronics, but if I need to cut and sand wood, or spray (death incarnate) aka coal tar, plasma cut mermaids to accent the hot tub, crawl on the planks to paint the hull, dig the sand from the front yard beach, connect 1.5 volt Edison batteries to an inverter and test capacity, vacuum the carpet, mop the floor(swab the deck), install aluminum panels in the tender... It doesn’t matter. The main goal SV Seeker is to DO SOMETHING. Don’t sit on your butt, get up and get it done!!!

I’ve never been there, but would like to make a pilgrimage there to at least see the boat. I’ve watched all his videos and can say he don’t let any challenge get in the way and I can appreciate that. Good luck and God speed SV Seeker

Went and helped this man one day. Went to leave and this man was rude said that I did not help. He offered a cap to my boyfriend and not one to me he said that I did not help. To who ever is helping this person he is just out to get your help or your money.

Been watching Doug and crew for a while on YouTube @ SVseeker channel, but was finally able to make the trip to Tulsa to lend a hand working onsite. Doug is an inspirational and amazing person! He’s set out to build an 84’+- sailing vessel in his front yard... and he’s nearly there! He doesn’t take no for an answer, and there is never a right or wrong way to do anything. “It’s all a learning process. Some ways work better than others! Just don’t give up, follow your dreams and make them real!”Jesebel was there too, of course... and Earle! Got to meet Betty and Jim also! Betty MADE us leave with a load of their awesome swag, which I can honestly say is nothing short of cool! SVseeker Hoodie is my girlfriends go-to whenever she’s home.Keep at it Doug, I’d love to come back and get some more work done one day

Amazing. The workmanship is brilliant and the crew is amazing. Don’t be impolite and just drop by; don’t be inconsiderate. But really it’s such an amazing project and it speaks to many people around the world. Thanks Doug and crew.

Never been to work on SV seeker, though its one of my life ambitions. Videos on welding, casting, fabrication and electronics are slow & steady, natural and well narrated. Forget discovery channel! - discovering things starts on youtube channels and projects like SV seeker.

Highly recommend...but be aware this is a work facility, and people are activily working with saws and grinder. Dont just go thinking you will get a tour or be allowed in without giving SV Seeker a heads up. If you have building skills (metal/wood) get on thier wesite and see if they have a place to volunteer. They are very friendly and helpful and you can learn alot, and possibly teach someone something they never knew.

We came here in hope of learning some techniques like welding, getting a place to crash and meeting interesting people; and that was exactly what we got, but so much more in addition: learning lessons about ourselves, our life and our choices, getting inspiration and motivation. Doug is an amazing person and together with Betsy builds up an amazing Crew. Betsy is so thoughtful and well prepared - so sophisticated Thank you!Möge die SV Seeker immer eine Hand breit Wasser unterm Kiel haben!
