This is a great family place especially for children that are 3-16 years of age. Love seeing the animals and learning new things

We arrived a few minutes before they opened, and passed the time by enjoying the small area to excavate bones in the sand by the front door. This was my daughter’s favorite part of the entire museum, and I think it could be really lovely to expand that area outdoors. When we entered, we were greeted warmly, which is always appreciated. Admission was $13.50 for my five year old and myself, which isn’t an astronomical amount...but it seemed a bit overpriced in hindsight, especially since there were several things that weren’t in working order, not accessible, or undergoing changes. The first room you come to has several building tables and exhibits, a play area for kids under 6 (more like 4 and under) in the very back, a few lighted tables with blocks, a foosball table we couldn’t find the ball for, a Connect Four game, and a mash up of several other stations. This was the area we spent the most time in.While there was more to do in the first room than in the rest of the museum, it was difficult to truly enjoy it all because it’s DARK! I thought they forgot the lights, but it appears that’s just how they keep it. My daughter couldn’t see at all in the little playroom area with the curtains, so that was a total loss, and there were puzzles and such out on the ledge around the play area she wanted to try, but it was too dark to see them. She did find a few hand puppets she got excited about, but when she took them closer to the lighted table to see them better, they were absolutely filthy, and so she put them back. The magnet blocks were a hit though. She spent over 30 minutes building herself a castle! In the next room, there was a brain area and a dental area. I think that the brain exhibit, while small, was informative. The tooth area looked a bit grungy, but they had several sets of dentures and such, examples of cavities and fillings, and a large toothbrush for practice. There was an area where it appears they are adding aquariums, or perhaps they’re removing them...hard to tell. It was blocked off though, so that was a missed experience. There were a few building stations, weights, a vacuum and bowling ball exhibit, an ultraviolet light room, a microscope, and a hallway of geodes and beetles and things. It led to another hallway with a variety of actual animals that had been stuffed, and a room off of that with snakes, lizards, turtles, butterflies, and cockroaches to see.We spent one hour and 45 minutes at the museum, and while we managed to make that time feel full, we revisited many of the same things again and again. There just really isn’t enough to do there to warrant a return trip, or my 34 mile drive...but if you’re in the area and you have an hour to kill, it’s worth the stop.

We love the science center! We go almost every Friday, (I’m a nanny to two boys, and I have a little boy myself). They recently added a sensory room which is nice and has lots of cool things in the room. They’re always updating, changing and adding new things and new exhibits! It’s a great place for kids to run and play and burn energy and learn at the same time! It’s great for the rainy and cold days! The staff is always friendly and helpful and patient with all of the children. I highly recommend visiting! We enjoy it every time we go!

My son had a great time at the hands-on science center but I think it needs a major overhaul. I have been to some neat science centers for children in Chattanooga, Memphis, Murfreesboro, and Nashville and I thought this one was so outdated. I do understand that it is a small town and funds are most likely limited but I can’t imagine e bringing my child here on an annual pass. I think he would quickly become bored.

The Hands on Science Center is an invaluable and unique part of the Coffee county community. Its a great place to teach children the value of STEM fields and human discovery. They have a cheap, but entertaining little gift shop with things like gemstones, geodes, rocks/minerals, edible insects, space shuttle models, etc. Its clear theyre a little underfunded, but thats why they NEED us to go and visit/donate! I cant wait to take my daughter here when shes old enough to appreciate all the awesome science exhibits they have on display. If you live near Coffee county, you have to visit at least once even if youre an adult.

This is a wonderful place for the kids to have fun and learn science in small town like Tullahoma. We got the family membership, which is also good for 300 other museums and science centers across the country. The staff was extremely nice, courteous and helpful. I would recommend all the parents of children under 8 should have family membership so that their kids can take unlimited advantage of this facility!

This place is nasty! They need to clean it. This was our first visit with our grandchildren. And our last. I understand that theres kids everywhere and its going to be messy...but this was just filth. Looked like they had never washed anything down. There was an inch of dust on a lot of the things to do. Lots of things were out of order. It was really just disgusting. Will not go back

My wife and I brought our 8 yr old grandson here and we all had a great time. In fact, despite living over 30 miles away we loved it so much we bought a yearly membership which will allow us to visit here as well as many other science centers for free (although be advised to read the fine print about exclusions, namely the other museums cannot be within 90 miles of your home museum or your residence). Kudos to the staff for making this museum a gem - so much to see and do and the displays are well maintained.

I play pokemon go in the early morning on the way home from work from tepro. Two gyms and four pokestops in close proximity to each other. Visited inside once or twice for a field trip for my granddaughters school. Price seemed a little steep but I suppose knowledge and friendliness isnt free lol. They do allot for children and young teens all year round. I recommend going at least twice with your child. Call ahead of time and see whats planned when for the best experience for your money.

They opened a sensory room for people with autism but failed to make it easy for kids to get in the room. My kiddo is autistic and non-verbal. She does not like going up steep steps and they built a spiral staircase with steep steps. Anyone who had mobility issues were not able to get into the room...

Reasonable annual membership cost. Did you know you can use this membership in Huntsville (1 hr 15 minutes away) to go to the Space and Rocket Museum for free? This museum is a great place for kids to stretch their imagination and have fun. Many cool exhibits! A nice place to have a birthday party.

This science museum had tons of different little exhibits. While it is small, the exhibits are quality. For a two year old there was a great section for little ones to play. The toy animals they had out were great. Looking at the live animals was a great bonus not all science museums offer. The exhibits did seem loved but in okay condition. Some more things to play with in the little doctors office would be nice, maybe some dress up outfits. On a rainy day we will probably be back so I can let my kid run wild again. Price is decent especially for this with kids two and under, I only had to pay admission for myself. All in all we spend about an hour and a half there. I do wish they had a place kids could eat snacks and maybe a vending machine for drinks.

This place was* a really cool idea, with many hands on science experiments including copper currents, polarization art, and many informative games. Greatt place to bring kids! I was discouraged by the cleanliness and upkeep of the place. Some of the exhibits are old and dont work. Also the animal room looked a little poor, and the tanks couldve been a little cleaner. But ultimately it was a great place to let out my inner child and learn a few things!
