My son and I biked around for about 30 minutes wondering where the skills areas were, but all we found were a couple of basic trails winding through homeless camps. The trails may have been marked at some point, but there’s no longer any indication of where to go, and there are several trails that branch off at various spots, so it’s easy to go down the wrong path. By the time we figured out where the trails that led to the skills areas were, my son was too frustrated to check it out. We saw 0 skills areas, 4 shopping carts, 1 broken baby stroller, 1 old mattress, 1 passed out bum, and 2 more bums that looked like they hadn’t slept in a week. Not sure if I’ll waste any more time coming back to figure it out, when I can just hit a regular trail and know it’s going to be fun.
Good place to ride fun for all!!
This is a mountain bike park but it is still under development. A local mountain bike group is responsible for getting the ball rolling on this project. However it is open and what they have done you can ride on. The desert vegetation is largely preserved and the pre-existing paved bike route for bike commuters or recreational bicyclists goes thru and is unaffected. One caution, the desert scrub forest is frequented by homeless people and encampments. Not to be politically incorrect Ive had a few nervous encounters. I carry pepper spray (havent had to use it) and recommend having a companion. If I encounter the same individuals several times Ive been known to hang a grocery bag of food and snack items on my handlebars and give it to them. Most homeless individuals dont stay long. The city police every once in a while move the homeless to better facilities but new residents move in and policing is sporadic as our men and women in blue are stretched thin a lot of the time. So just be aware.
There isnt really anything there. Theres a few jumps w berm. Seem to be mainly a track but hard to find all of it. The pictures of it and whats really there are different. Great idea too bad it was such a let down
Great place for every skill base.
