Ive been visiting this gallery on a regular basis for several years now. Nearly every show theyve had has introduced me to art that either delights or makes me think. They very carefully curate their shows to bring great art to Tucson. Sometimes mixed media and other formats, but mostly photography represented here.Admission is free and they are only ever busy on their opening nights. If you want to meet the artists or talk to people about the art, go to those, otherwise most days will let you appreciate the show at your own pace.
Aways something interesting with articulate knowledgeable people
One of my favorite places. Great rotating shows, and curated photography collection .
Always a wonderful experience with a moving selection of amazing images. One of the hidden gems of Tucson!
Wonderful gallery and great staff
I went to this gallery as a Tucson visitor, because I was told they had an amazing photography collection. My informant was correct. I ended going back three times in three days, so I could see everything. The staff were extremely nice. Which is important, because I hate snooty art galleries. In addition, they had much more than photography, and I ended up buying an art skateboard, earrings and a small sculpture. I will go back there every time I am in Tucson.
Tl;dr completely inaccessible. otherwise amazingI went on 10 May 2019 and had an amazing time. The staff was friendly, the pieces were fantastic, and I had an overall good time.However. It is completely inaccessible. It is on the second floor, and the only way to access it is by traversing the two flight set of stairs. I went looking for info on accessibility there once I left and only found a single mention of inaccessibility, and it was in a newspaper article. Not that it was a surprise, as all my fellow disableds warned me that galleries are pretty much always inaccessible, but it sure would be nice if it was on their website.
The photography by Jack Dykinga is a treat for the senses. A must see.
Absolutely loved this place. Went up stairs, was greeted by a helpful staff member. Walked around, looked at all of the photos. There is an area that has boxes of photos, I asked to see one that caught my attention. A staff member was required to go through the photos with me, as she had to wear gloves, and she was informative and helpful. I even found a book there that I later ordered.
Terry the owner is a true expert on traditional black and white photography. He was extremely friendly and helpful. His gallery is a real gem and a gift to all who love photography as an art form.
Very interesting and enter photography exhibit, beautifully displayed.
This gallery displays some truly amazing prints of some exceptional photographers. A real treat for novices to experts.
If you enjoy great photography then this is the place to visit periodically!
Lovely gallery, staff friendly and informative. I went for my artists date today, to fill my well. Good inspirational visit. M
If you are looking to buy some of the best photographs this is the place.
Truly a hidden gem in downtown Tucson. Look for the stairs to the second floor gallery in an historic building just off Broadway. Include Etherton in your tour of the Tucson Museum of Art and the MoCA.
Tremendous curatorial staff producing superior exhibits that enrich our citys arts community!!
Etherton is one of the premier photography galleries in Arizona if not the country. However, it is upstairs in a space that does not have an elevator. It is not wheelchair accessible.
A fantastic professional gallery that specializes (or so it seems) in photography. You have to check this place out.
Bought beautiful jewelry from Taxco at a great price. Thanks Etherton.
Premier photography gallery nationally. A real treasure for Tucson.
