This park is a nice place to take a quiet walk. The trail is largely unpaved so I recommend that you wear some supportive hiking shoes. The boardwalks that are spread throughput the trail add a few nice places to stop and admire a little bit of nature.

The park itself is ok but it’s hard to get in and out of as you have to drive through neighbors to get there. The fields are tight but in good shape. Parking is a little difficult

Nice neighborhood and a great park. The park seemed well kept. They were having a soccer game when I brought my three kids to the park area. It was really great to see people out having a great Sunday!

Beautiful park! Beautiful trail! This is a sweet family park that has all you need to have a great time! Waterfalls, streams, moderate hike, beautiful scenery and even a lake and playground area. Lots of dogs on the trails (with leashes) and totally kid friendly. Not stroller friendly although some of the trails are paved or have boardwalks.

Ive visited several parks or hiking trails in Atlanta area. By far, Henderson park is the best park so far. It has multiple trails, long or short, nice lake and nice playground for kids. Dogs friendly too.

This park was great at the beginning of the pandemic. Now there are to many people who bring dogs and dont clean up after them. This is all along the hiking paths and everywhere.

Lots of paved and dirt trails that lead in many directions. We walked all the way around the lake (less than a mile). We also saw geese and ducks by the playground on the lake. Im told there are waterfalls and I know we only saw a fraction of the park but we loved it. If you like hiking small trails, this is for you. If youre not as adventurous, you can always stay on the paved trails. Either way, youll enjoy it!

We needed a spot for a Family gathering an took advantage of the pavilion near the lake. You can not reserve the site so get there ahead of time. Also make sure when you give directions that you specify which side of the park to enter.

Really cool trails and a picnic area by the lakefront pier. The park is tucked away in a neighborhood, so its really quiet. It feels larger than it looks.

Great hiking trails, just really wished that they were better marked, as it is very confusing to navigate using the online map. Other than that, its a fantastic park!

Nice and well maintained walking trails circle around the little lake. They just made new board walk and wooden steps. There is a hidden waterfall in the corner of the park.

Id like this park if dog leash laws were enforced. Ive encountered maybe people with their dogs not anywhere in their sight in close proximity to the childrens playground. So at minimum they arent cleaning up after their pets. Numerous others let their off leash dog run up to a dog on leash which causes an altercation where someone or a dog could be hurt. Many dogs on leash do not respond well to an unrestricted dog running up to them.

First time visiting this gem. The trails are awesome. Great way to get the kids out of the house and connect with nature.

Beautiful park with a paved walking area along with nature trails. The playground is sturdy and relatively new. The community garden is so fun and needed for the neighborhood. Ample crosswalks for those communiting to the park. Plenty of seating along the walking path.

I love this hidden park! Pet and kid friendly. Lots of trails. Cant say so much for the fishing. Havent ever really caught anything here.

A quiet, quality park tucked away between Doraville and Tucker. Pretty sizable lake, trails, a small stream/waterfall, and picnic site. Always a favorite that contains some.of my favorite memories. Perhaps youll make a few of your own. Enjoy!

It is nothing like the trails ok n the smokey mountains but it is beautiful. To the people that complain about dogs be off the leash this is true. The dogs I came across didnt care about other people on the trails, they just wanted to explore nature from what I observed.

This is a great neighborhood park with multiple playgrounds and walking/hiking trails. Bonus points if you find the secret waterfall on the east side.

Renovated playgrounds for all ages (including a zip line!), miles of marked and unmarked hiking grounds, a stocked lake, community garden with a native species trail, soccer fields, tennis courts. Free. It speaks for itself. I really want to give it a 5, but I wish it had a dog park. Maybe Im being a bit harsh, but many people let their dogs run free anyway and there is plenty of room for a small fenced area. Overall awesome park, though.

Its a very large woods surrounded by urban area. You can jog for 45 minutes on wooded trails and not pass the same spot twice. It has a waterfall that is just a trickle normally but its still beautiful.

They not only have great new trail maps but also reblazed the trail. It is nice bc you can get pretty lost - wasnt in a rush, but I can imagine someone could get quite turned around. Search Friends of Henderson Park for map online.Clean except a few pieces of trash at playground. New bridges built. Lots of sewer connectors - lake probably smells quite robust in the summer. We have had quite a bit of rain recently, so spots were quite muddy. Lots of spots for hanging a hammock. Shocked to actually see deer tracks.Some days, we can go an entire loop without seeing someone, other times, quite a lot of traffic but plenty of paths are less frequently used.Dogs are SUPPOSED to be on leash but an older woman with an accent had 2 pit bull mixes off leash and uncontrollable. She claimed she had them verbally restrained. I told her Dekalb County requires all dogs to be on leash of 6ft. She said the board gave her permission to have her dogs off leash. Hate how some jerks think rules dont apply to them.Police officer in parking lot - had been concerned about reports of break-ins - certainly nice to know they are present. Easily hiked for over 3 hours.

Wonderful park to engage with nature. The park has tennis courts, soccer fields, playgrounds, walking trails, community garden, and fishing at the small lake. The one drawback is that the park does not have bathrooms. It does have a couple of sparsely located port-a-potty.

It’s about 10 min from my place. It’s a little bit inside the neighborhood. There’s trails and a huge soccer field. Lake Erin is right in the middle of the park. Love this park!

I drive down Henderson Mill Road quite often because I live nearby and use it to cut through when I am heading into Tucker to run errands. I have seen the park for more than a decade but never ventured in to explore. Now that I have a two year old, I decided I needed to explore with her. I saw many photos of the pretty trails through the trees and even nearby water, including the lake and a little waterfall. But, I was especially interested in the playgrounds.I initially parked next to the main entrance and the soccer fields. I quickly realized I was in the wrong parking lot for the playgrounds. We walked to the right of the parking lot and past the soccer fields, then up a small hill to see the playground that is next to the small parking lot, not the main park entrance to the soccer fields. The playground was awesome! It has a zip line! The playground structure itself is for older children so I helped her explore it for just a few minutes and climb with my help. But, she definitely needed a place for toddlers. This playground was super cool, though. Cant wait to bring her back to this spot when she is taller and older.On our second visit, I knew to head to the opposite side of the park and enter from Livsey Road off of Chamblee-Tucker Road. At the dead end of Livsey Road, we turned left onto Henderson Park Road and followed it until it ended. You pass several parking lots before you reach the end of this road. This brought us to the lake. Exactly where we wanted to be! Here there is a very large covered pavilion and two different playground structures on opposite sides of the pavilion. One is for older children and the one farther in the back past the covered pavilion is for toddlers and small kids. You can also go down to the lakefront here or onto the boardwalk dock. My little girl loved the playgrounds here and I especially like that they have a parent/child combo swing. It is so much better than having to stand up and push your little one the whole time. It even has a phone holder so you can take selfies or photos of your child while you swing!!I would highly recommend reading reviews and descriptions of the park if you have not visited before. It is a very large park and the trails are all over the place. I havent began exploring the trails but Im looking forward to some walks in the woods as a family. I want to see the waterfall.The playgrounds are in great shape. They were clean and had a good variety of things for children to do.

This does not have good directions for the trails. The trails are single track and nice however it is really easy to get lost. Very nice park though.

Henderson Park is a great park to hike, take your children to and fish. I came to the park to fish since there is a large lake here. I believe this park is great for hiking because I see a bunch of people always walking and hiking here.

Best hike we had in a while. Be ready to take photos of the awesome lake. Great for kids. We saw a duck with ten ducklings. Ever so cute and met a friendly lady walking her dog.

Great trails and views. Good size lake. Clean place. Easy hikes good for all. Also has playgrounds for kiddies and pavilions and grills for get-togethers. Plenty of parking.
