I saw The Robert Cray Band at the music Hall and it was a great show! As far as the venue itself, it is a beautiful, well kept Hall that has fantastic acoustics. The staff was very helpful at the ticket counter and those helping you find your seat did so with a smile. The downside, because the building was built around 1870 the seats were a little smaller than what we are accustomed to today. I am 6ft, 165lbs and it felt a little cramped but not enough to ruin the show. The only other downside is parking. Troy parking is always irritating. Those two negatives are not nearly enough to keep me from attending another event there. I will definitely go back!

I have seen multiple shows here over the years and still cannot get enough of the beauty within this venue. I find myself completely enthralled with the attention to detail off of and surrounding the stage when the entertainment has yet to go on and then pulled back in to the stage once the entertainment begins. I truly feel fortunate to see such great musical talent on such a small, local and personal stage! There are also a number of delicious local restaurants within walking distance to enjoy dinner and/or cocktails both before or after the show. Definitely would recommend.

A wonderful little gem of an old theater. Really get the theater feel, with seating boxes going 3 high on the walls, the carpeting, and the single elevator all scream old time theater. No air conditioning either! Which fits in with the feeling that it is a period piece come to life. Saw Steam Powered Giraffe there and it was great!

Of the many concerts I have seen here what I like the most about Troy savings bank is the acoustics. This is more clear in some concerts than others, but they always sound good. Tickets are fairly inexpensive and easy to purchase.

This was a great, old fashioned theater with outstanding acoustics. The look and feel is something you dont get in many venues. Unfortunately that also means the seats are old and the rows are narrow. You have to buy special cups to take any drink into the theater, which was strange.

Was at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall 11/8/19 for a bluegrass performance by the SteelDrivers. The sound guys for the band completely missed this acoustic opportunity. The singers were drowned out so you couldnt hear the words over the sometimes screeching loudness of the instruments. They relied on mics and the speaker output when the hall would have done the heavy lifting if they had let her. My guess is that theyre so used to poor acoustics wherever they go that they just have a standard set up no matter the venue. Oh well.

The fact that you were closed today should have been posted on your site. I specifically Checked the site before I made the trip - that is the frustrating part!

The Vienna Boys Choir was angeliclly dynamic. We sat in second row center my knees were touching the back of the seat in front of me. I am only 5 feet 7 inches tall. It was painful to say the least. Acoustics are wonderful the hall is nice but if they do not upgrade the seating all prices should be cut by more than 75 percent because no performance is worth physical pain! This was my first experience at the Troy Saving Bank Music Hall.

I have been to a number of shows here over the years. Its reputation is of one of the most acoustically perfect venues in the world. Years ago in the 80s I worked there as a security guard and while a performance was going on n were not allowed to walk around. We had to find a seat or go outside because a squeek from a floorboard will rip right through the place. A fairly small place, intimate. I go there when ever I get the chance.

I’ve been to TSBMH for two shows now. Seats downstairs were nice and enjoyable, this time “best available” left us with seats upstairs, I am tall, as is my father in law, we could not sit in the seats without being canned sardines. I ended up standing in back of theatre so as to not lose feeling in my legs. This sucked. They shouldn’t sell these tickets to anyone above 5’4”. That really stunk.

This beautiful hall has incredible sound, however, for The Weepies show, the house system used was not able to balance the vocals over the instruments. We have attended concerts here for many years and enjoyed both the quality of performers and the incredible sound of the hall. Gregory Porter certainly met our experience with an excellent performance but it appears that Troy Music Hall now allows late seating WHILE the musicians are performing, complete with banging seats and people shuffling around...not just once but multiple times for over 15 minutes after the music started. Add to that people on three sides of us chatting, and using their cell phones to takes photos, videos, and text all while Mr. Porter and his band performed. Ushers walked in aisles during concert but made no effort to stop cell phone usage. And this was a 40+ crowd....really disrespectful to the performers and disruptive for those who came for the music.

Beautiful theater with amazing acoustics. The seats themselves are not horrible. But there is almost no legroom between you and the seat in front of you. I am 60 and could not fit with my thighs straight forward. It really detracts from the experience having to constantly shift back and forth every few minutes. Anyone 56 or taller will not sit comfortably unless you have an aisle seat or are in the front row or a barrier row.
