Nice campground, well kept, clean. Sites are strangely laid out and some are far better than others. Fishing but no swimming, too many slimy weeds

Not badd for a state park because of the drought the pond was Very small and close due to bacteria. Enjoyed my side and trails.. Annual visit for wife and I

Campground very family friendly. Facilities on site were really clean and nice. Only downfall was there was no swimming area as advertised. The swimming area was more like a swamp... i would never let my kids swim in that water. But other than that the sites are big, clean, and bathrooms are nice.

We camped late July of 2020 here! Due to Covid booking was limited as the state parks must operate at a 50% capacity. We booked campsite #17(the only available one). The site 16 and 18 were already occupied. However, there was absolutely no trees or bushes between the 3 campsites. Basically zero privacy, and these sites were pretty small! The interestingly there were so many empty sites throughout the park and we couldnt figure why this park was keen on keeping people so close to each other!!!I had read negative reviews about the beach and the quality of the water and now I understand the concerns. The pond is not swimmable; specially for younger kids. The smell was rather awful. Apparently the pond water had been tested and passed the test for safety! Maybe so, but goodness there was no way to walk or to swim in that water. As for the bathroom, the staff were there to clean it; after all our camp site was facing the main bathrooms so we could easily see everything. But the campers came short on doing their share fair of responsibilities! What was great about this park was the tall trees (obviously not in our campsite) and the many owls we saw on the branches. Its clear that the state tried to preserve the nature as much as possible in this park, and we greatly appreciated that.Would we go back? Most likely, no!But everyone has a different experience camping. Try it and you may be very pleased ....

No signs or a flag saying swimming was closed due to bacteria... and the guy sitting at the booth that watched me and my kids go over to the beach didnt feel like saying anything... some nice people walking their dogs let me know before we went in, thankfully...I was hesitant to go in before we were told anyways, because of the condition it was in...I know this has been an issue this year, but posting information would be helpful... we used to love this place, and came here all the time...

A great place to picnic, swim, and grill. A good place to camp. It is a very clean a good atmosphere. This would be a good place to meditate because you are surrounded by nature so it is very peaceful. A awesome place to bring the kids. You do have to pay for admission to enter but its not bad I think its 8 dollars if your a resident of mass of not its 15 dollar a car. Im not sure how much for camping though.

Bathrooms are not kept clean & paper towel dispensers do not work. No amenities whatsoever. Signage within campground is poor. Strictly for tenting, not even pop- ups should be attempted.Camp sites themselves are quite nice and spacious, so thats why I gave 2 stars instead of just the one.

Overall great! Would have liked to know one of the bathrooms was closed before I tried to use it. For a place that forbids alcohol, there were a lot of beer bottle caps littered around my site along with cigarette butts.

Amazing place, nice scenery, good spot to camp with friends for a week. Rangers were very lenient when things got loud at night. Most of them even leave after a certain time so youre left on your own. Obviously dont do things you shouldnt be doing but... You are quite secluded.

It’s a good place to take kids to make some picnics, trails and play with. You don’t need to pay nothing, no parking lot, and don’t need to pay to walk in the trails too. It’s a beautiful place to take some pics and be conect with nature.

Ive been coming here for years. I like it because its close to Boston, but when you arrive youre in the country. Good size sites, many with tall swaying, wispering pines above. Bathrooms and shower house are very clean. Staff have programs for kids and a community fire pit. Lots of hiking. Several spots to swim including Damon pond and Vinton pond. Its not the White Mountains or the cape, but great for a quick one or two nighter!

I love this ace. This is the first State Park that I camped in when I first moved to Massachusetts in 2004 and it certainly wont be the last. Massachusetts has the best State parks in the country. People come down from New Hampshire to camp in Massachusetts State Parks and they they go back to New Hampshire and complain about their taxes.

Ok for tenting, pop-ups, and class B, but stay away if youre in a class A or C. The roads are very narrow and twisted as they go through the trees. Sites are small and many have random trees and stumps which limit vehicle parking.

Overall a Good Park and Campground. Facilities are kept as clean as could be expected. The campground claims to have some of the most spacious and private campsites in the state, but it seems to be the opposite in my opinion. Some of the sites seem to be a alittle bigger then average but there are very few that are private. Very little ground brush and bushes exists to give any separation from site to site. One of the reasons I go camping is to be out in the natural environment, not necessarily with random people. Shower House is fairly new and is in very good shape overall. Not a whole lot of hiking trails in Pearl Hill S.P itself but there are other State Parks in the area to explore. Older gentleman at the gatehouse was very professional and respectful, even with a request to change sites. Overall a good basic state park but be prepared to meet your neighbors !!

If being Stalked on your own Camp Site by Police for no reason, who did not identify themselves is camping to you, than have fun.Going to this Camp Ground gives up all your rights, I would avoid and go to a Private Camp Ground.Theres no need to Pay money to be shaking down by the Police simply for being there. The Mangers are very very Rude...My Tent was up, and tag hanging from Window, so I do not know what gave the Cops the right to quietly stalk around my Camp Site for over 3 minutes and not identify themselves. They say someone was driving around, so, yeah, makes no sense...I left a day early and the Park refused me a refund.
