Ancient and run down... And charming nonetheless. For those who grew up in the 80s or earlier its a walk down memory lane. Nice place to see a cheap flick.
I absolutely love this theater. Ive been going to this theater since I was a child. It is older and not as fancy as the new theaters. However, theres something nostalgic about this theater. The staff is friendly and the popcorn is the best. It still has that small home town feel to it. My kids love going to this theater now. I hope it never closes.
Its an old theater and needs some repairs, but I love the big screen and the big amount of seating. We sat close to the back and could hear the corn popping. Kind of annoying in ways, but it sure made me want some popcorn!
Love this theater! It takes me back. I love everything from the old time Marquee and walk up ticket booth to the stellar decor of the theater that takes you out of this world. No previews so you get right to the main feature. Reasonably priced concessions. High quality digital reels. Locally owned.
Love this theatre! Owners are wonderful and the service is great. You cant beat the prices. I look for a movie there first before ever going anywhere else.
Love going to the Ritz.. Its great when I take all 8 of my grandkids to a show, I can still afford it and we all have a great time. Known the owners for years and they are great people.
This location and the proprietor are AWESOME! Family friendly. Awesome pricing and the refreshments are what you would expect from any movie place. The Ritz has wonderful staff and they ensures good old fashion movie service! The new theaters are fancy and you pay for it. The facilities are satisfactory safe. The newer movie theaters do not hold a candle to the Ritz. The family movie experience here at the Ritz, does include the old time family feel and service and pricing. I choose the Ritz sharing with my children the old time movie experience I had as a kid. Pricing is low enough to take a large family to a movie often. The proprietor is truly serving the public and families. The world is much better for her exceptional quality and the love she has in her heart! God Bless her and the wonderful theater.
Nice little hometown theater. You cant beat the price.
I went here when I was in high school. That was in 1982, I come to visit family in Erda and took mom to the show. Friendly people and very nostalgic for me.
The Ritz is an old theater but still in good shape. It shows a different time period. The seats are nothing like the new theaters but they are comfortable enough. They show movies that have been out for awhile. The best part is the tickets are only $2 for everyone. Concession prices are also cheaper than regular theater prices.
Should be advertised as a museum. Has one good size theater the other one is like sitting in a hallway. Feels like your going to get mugged walking from the weed infested dirt hole parking to the entrance. Park across main street, its the same distance and much safer for you and your kids.
Classic dollar theater. Brings back fun memories.
Absolutely love this place for the history and their awesome local vibe. The late owner was a real character, as well. Customer for life!! BUY CONCESSIONS!!! Its how local theaters make their money. Also support the drive-in!!
Love the ritz its my boys favorite place
I love the old theatre style of this theater
Awesome movie theatre. Been coming here since I was a kid! Seen a bunch of great movies over the years at this place. Good times and good memories! Allen is an awesome stand up guy! Thanks for having such a great old school theatre and drive in!!
Awesome, nostalgic! Cant beat the price.
Great movie theater thats been showing movies for over 50 years
This is a great theater to go and hang with friends out on the night. Alright prices, good service. It is a really old time movie theater that is a blast to the past
Affordable movies in a really cool nostalgic environment! The history in this theatre is awesome! The snack bar is affordable and has good options. Great place to take the whole family for only $2/person. The place is cool, but be prepared-it is in rough shape! The seats are not comfortable, and parts of the building seem to be falling apart!
We often stop in as a family to enjoy a show and popcorn. We are more than happy to bypass the big theater opening weekends for the discounted price found here. It is a dollar theater type place, so dont go expecting 3D cinema. Its older but still provides movie goers an affordable way to enjoy the theater experience. We like to purchase the refillable popcorn bucket to use throughout the season.
It was great cute little thing. The movie didnt try and kill my ear drums unlike big movie places. Tickets where cheap.
The last of a dying breed. Alot of firsts growing up going to the Ritz;) Ive seen almost every major movie to come out in the past 36 yrs in this theater. Still the Lowest admission and snack prices not to mention youll never find a more old school home town feel but great quality theater experience. Keep on keepin on Ritz!
Great family owned theater. And drive in
Great service and a very welcoming vibe
Great for the low fare! The building is old and falling apart but it has a nostalgic feel to the place.
The Ritz is a nice locally owned private Theater. It is clean and has nice seats great sound and not only the best popcorn but the best deal on that great popcorn.A bucket cost 8 dollars but refills are only 2 dollars for a year. Bring it back every time you go. Movies are as also only 2 dollars
Great prices and kid friendly. The prices at concessions are pretty fair and I love to support local. I love that so many people take their kids so theyre not a nuisance if they make a little noise. Great place to take little ones to the kids movies! And you cant beat that price!
Great old theater to enjoy a date and some good popcorn for a very affordable price.
Employees were kind and professional. Theatre was clean, nice atmosphere. Great price and good treats! Owner is wonderful.
For $2 it cant be beat. Love that it is a local business. In Theater 1 the seats along the side are too close together. If they took out every other row of seats along the side it would be perfect. Seats in the middle section dont have this problem.
The Ritz really is a piece of Tooele History. They are amazing, I love having the choice of a discount theater to take the kids to and make memories.
This outs my favorite place to watch movies. I love the atmosphere. This is a very old theater. I love the prices. The image quality in the big theater screen is fabulous. That good image quality is actually really surprising.
I went to the Ritz the other night with my fiance for a movie date. Unfortunately their tech system wasnt working for them and their tech guy wasnt available. Even though the movie didnt play, I was more than impressed with their hospitality. They felt terrible about the situation, they refunded us, and even threw in a free drink and popcorn. They were very nice there, I definitely recommend it.
A fun old theater experience.
The best theater in town. Great prices and the quality of the popcorn is unsurpassed. Thank you for a great establishment
I absolutely loved going to the Ritz as a kid. Going back as an adult brings back nostalgic memories. Fun place to see the latest movie.
I love this little theatre, and enjoy the original artwork you can view while waiting for the show to begin. Ive been in every theater room I think, and I think by far my favorite is the one with the Crying Room. I love this option in case my little one decides to act up in the middle of the show. I wish every modern day theater had this option. In any case, I hope this theatre sticks around for a very long time.
The building seemed slightly run down, However It had a classic 1900s feel to it that I liked. Prices are reasonable and the staff is respectful. The theater is small, perfect for those who dont like crowds.
Its dirty and the bathrooms are quite bad but overall decently new movies that play there
I love this little theater.
Cheap family fun great service
The screen isnt as nice as the more expensive theaters and I dislike that they only take cash, but for the price... I LOVE IT! Nice not to spend a fortune on watching a movie you can wait a few months to get at Redbox.
Love the Ritz! Has a great retro feel to it, takes you back 40 years and the movie quality is awesome. And the best part is is its only a dollar! Definitely a place that should be supported and preserved.
WHAT A COOL THEATER! It still has its original decor from 1939. If you love vintage this is the place to go. I was in awe. I also was in awe of how comfortable the seats were, and how nice the staff was. The screen was huge and amazing. I have no idea how they fit such a huge screen in there and the sound was amazing. GO SEE A MOVIE THERE!
I love this place
Best place to go on a budget. I remember going as a child, and it still feels like an classic style silver screen. Instead of the larger corporate venues, come here.
I love the old fashioned theatre feel, the greeters that make you feel welcome, and the Cry Room, where toddlers, infants and children who are restless in the movie can go and wiggle, and not bother anyone else. I have gone to see movies there for over forty years. It is obviously an old theatre with older equipment but the owners are striving to change that to bring the technology up to modern day standards. I love it!
The RITZ THEATRE is an older theatre that takes me back in time to the good old days. The price is still low and very afordable showing mostly family oriated movies on the big screen and with great sound. A great place to take the family at a great price
Its been awhile since I was there
Its fun to have a theater thats inexpensive to take the kids to. I prefer the main theater as opposed to the smaller one, but its a freaking dollar fifty! Im not gonna complain about it! I love going in the winter when the fireplace is going. I can take my littlest out of the theater when I need to and sit next to the fire. Yes, the theater is old. But thats part of the charm. Its a really neat old building. our family loves going here. I definitely recommend it!
Love this theater!
Old school. They dont have any new movies anymore. They changed it to dollar movies cause they couldnt keep up with the competition. But its good classic theater. Recommended for cheap movies.
Its a nice family friendly place. Its nice and old school. The employees treat you well and respects you. I love it!
I have always loved this theatre, it has a small town feel, but the excitement of Broadway. And it is only $2 for a movie! It cant get any better than that!
Really laid-back place we went and saw that kid show with the bull in it LOL I dont remember the name but my one year old was teething really bad and so all she wanted to do was run around but it was really laid-back there other peoples kids were running around but it was loud enough space e enough and a super good time for my daughters first movie theater experience
I enjoy the spacious theater with a genuine old-fashioned touch: original curtains, stars on the walls, stage, and chasing rope lights. It feels like a step back in time while enjoying todays movies. I like being able to take my whole family due to the discount prices; I cant pay full price fares at other theaters.
What a wonderful establishment!! Such a great old timey feel, replete with locals and owners greeting all movie goers. A little run down, but none of its charm is lost. Complete with old photos and movie posters as well as a cry room and lounge area!! Simply classic!! A true treat!!
Its nice and affordable, I just wish the chairs were a little more comfortable and the arm rests went up. Its hard to bring my grandparents here when the chairs are so lumpy and their backs hurt when they get up..
We love the Ritz!!! What a fantastic way to save a lot of money and have fun with the family!
I just moved to Tooele and wanted to check out some of the old buildings near by. So we went to the theater (Ritz) and Im actually extremely shocked and extremely satisfied with my experience. For $2 to see what would typically be a 8$ ticket price anywhere else.. Was a steal. The consession snacks were great and budget friendly. And ultimately the theater was a rad experience! Little worries about the roof though. Tons of leak spots that havent been repaired that could fall and hurt /potentially kill someone.
They have Mtn Dew there!!! Ive never been to a theater that has Mtn Dew!! What a treat that was. I washed the Mtn Dew down with a buttery popcorn and I was in my own seventh heaven! The movie was good too.
They usally have one kids movie at five and one adult movie and is only 2$ per person
Never had a bad experience here. If you havent been here it is defanetly worth a visit you will not be disappointed.
It is so cute and fun, I love the paintings on the wall. Sure its a bit old looking but its a great way to spend time out, and its very affordable.
Old style theater. Brings back good memories. Cheap tickets. Owners are great people.
It is a great place to see movies at $2.00 per person, families cant go wrong.
A very nice cozy hometown movie theatre. The admission price is super-cheap and the prices for snacks are even a little cheaper than the multiplexes. A real bargain for anyone that appreciates the full movie-going experience.
Great hometown dollar style theater... thanks guys... people open your eyes and be thankful we have a cheaper option in tooele!!! Otherwise close your mouth and drive your ass to SLC
Amazing deal for a fun evening out. I love the old feel to it. Its fun and affordable to take all my kids.
This theater is truly a service to the community! The price is unbeatable (you actually can afford popcorn, drinks, snacks)...great movies...and classic surroundings (there is even a cry room)--friends from other States and I talk about this place and how great it is--retro, fun, inexpensive...the owners are great people!Part of our history, and I hope it continues in Tooele for years to come!!!
A great way to take the family to a movie without breaking the bank.
This is my favorite place in Tooele! The cheep tickets are nice, and it has the best popcorn in the world! I would highly recommend it!
This place is very very cool, the popcorn is the best! People who say this theater sucks are sadly mistaken. I love how old and nice it is (from the 1930s!)This theater beats the current corporate competition by simply delivering great service, delicious food, and an amazing retro atmosphere.
Fun folks. Exactly the atmosphere you
My favorite theater in Utah. Old-time goodness, and you cant beat $2 movies. Absolutely LOVE this theater!!!
It is an awesome place to take your kids without breaking the bank.It is old, but that is part of the charm, the popcorn is great and the movies are awesome and the sound quality is top notch, i am very thankful for this to have this theater in our community.
We go here often. Its very old but very cool. The staff is awesome.
Main theater is not too bad. The smaller theater is TERRIBLE! The speakers sound like its coming from a bullhorn in the back of the theater. The screen is the size of most peoples televisions. And its LONG so if youre in the back, you cant see very well. Well only go to movies here if they are on the regular screen. And its definitely a $1.50 experience, not worth any more than that. :)
I love that I can take my family to the movie at a discount rate. The employees are always friendly.
I love coming here! Everyone is very nice!
Love this little theater
Love the Art Deco. It has a Cry Room, every theatre needs one. The price of $2 just cant ngs e beat.
Great theater fantastic employees had a great time there watching a movie
Really nice employees and nice old fashioned theater
I love this little theater, a cheap price for the best popcorn in the world and a movie experience right out of the 1950s.
I love this theater because its very close to where I live & they have their movies moderately priced!!!
You get what you pay for. The tickets are wallet friendly, but the place is falling apart.A friend took me there to see Interstellar, and he only paid $6 for three tickets. I was a bit put off by the size and condition of the screen (which had some very obvious physical damage - but, it wasnt very noticeable after the film started). The main problems are the speakers. I highly recommend bringing earplugs, because if you visit here frequently, you will get hearing damage, almost guaranteed.Interstellar was waaay too loud - and my friend told me the last film he saw there (in the smaller screen) was waaay too quiet. You just dont know what youre going to get, I guess. Then the seats -- well, I could only fit in the middle row. The seats were child sized, and Im a pretty skinny guy; so, if youre a bigger person - forget it!So - one star establishment with an extra star for the low prices.
Its a nice old family movie theater.
Best staff and they are nice.
Oldest theater in Tooele County. Looking for more screens? Go to a multiplex. Into nostalgia? this theater hold history and charm.
All shows only $2! I love taking my kids here.
The owners are wonderfully nice people and the theater is comfortable and fun.
Great Hometown Theater have popcorn and a drink
Place is small and cute. People were allowing their small children to run around screaming. When I went to complain he said the only thing he could do was to turn it up! People have a little respect!
Good place to watch a movie, and great price.
I love the staff is so nice
Nostalgic theatre, pop corn is fresh, snack prices are reasonable, and ticket prices are cheap.
