Beautiful stage to work on. Small audience and small dressing rooms but it worked out well for the small group we had (about 60 kids performing)

A fantastic venue, not hyped up enough. This place has incredible artists perform, such as Bela Fleck. the Marsalis, and Geoff Galante. OCC is truly developing their arts departments, and its at a great value for the citizens of Ocean County. Please support whenever possible — you wont be disappointed.

Very nice small theater located within the Ocean Couny College Campus. The theater provides a schedule of performances and is also used for performances by other groups. I last attended my nieces dance recital held at the theater. Due to size there doesnt seem to be a bad seat anywhere.

I went to this theatre to see a performance, and I had a good time. I only wish the theatre was bigger, there are some highschool theaters better than this one. But overall it is nice, there is a first and second floor to sit, and the seats are comfy. If you want to see a show, you cant go wrong with this theatre!

We attended an amazing Home Free concert at the Grunin Center. It was a very nice venue with very good sight lines and comfortable seating. There was ample free parking. The restrooms were clean, with enough stalls, and located on both levels. There is elevator access to the balcony level for those who need it. We took advantage of the dinner and show package, which was a great deal, and enjoyed a delicious buffet. The only negative aspect to the evening was that the Center did not allow Home Free to have their customary autograph line after the concert. We were disappointed that we could not get our Home Free merchandise signed by the guys.

Nice place, only downside is the stairs in the seating area, I feel like Im going to fall since there is limited lighting and minimal railing to hold onto and trying to navigate this while there are a lot of people coming or going.

Those who ran the event did a wonderful job. Hats off to the philanthropy. Also, have never been in the company of so many talented teens. One life time achievement recipient had poor production on his film. Too bad. Thankfully, someone fixed it and they replayed the film, but not many were watching...

I was very impressed with the venue. We saw Home Free on Feb. 20th and loved it. The size of the venue was perfect and made it feel like we were there for a private screening. We had center orchestra seats but I dont think there would be a bad seat anywhere. The staff was very attentive and polite. I would definitely come back and see another show here, especially if you bring Home Free back!

What a pleasure! We attended the Grunin Center for the first time to see Home Free perform on February 20th. Thought the Center was a perfect size - accommodating the crowd while at the same time providing a closeness to the stage and the entertainers - much more enjoyable than a huge stadium or arena. This was one of HOME FREEs best performances... wonderful harmony, beautiful voices, and good selection of songs. Theyre not just singers now... they are entertainers! We enjoyed the show from start to finish.

I saw the Country A Capella vocal band Home Free last night at the Grunin Center and the entire experience was wonderful.Parking was free and Lot #2 is right next to the venue entrance, which (along with ample security personnel) was particularly nice for me as a woman with bad knees traveling alone. There was a mix-up with my ticket, but the young man in the box office acted quickly and cheerfully printed my ticket on the spot. The Grunin Center ushers were all very nice and made sure I got to my seat using the elevator and most sensible hall entrance with minimal wandering.Upstairs, I had to pass the dining area where a few people were finishing up with the pre-show meal; and I immediately regretted not opting for that... it smelled delicious! My seat was a good size (Im not a skinny girl) and nicely padded; not once during the entire show did I notice myself shifting about to get comfortable. The balcony is angled such that theres no chance of anyones head blocking your view. In fact, since the centers capacity is rather low, there just doesnt seem to be a bad seat in the house. Even as high up as I was, I was still able to see facial expressions down on the stage.Oh, and what facial expressions! Home Free is a group of animated and delightful performers, who arent satisfied to rely just on their beautiful voices and amazing harmonies to entertain an audience. They made us laugh over and over, not just with the rehearsed comedic bits, but also feeding off the audience and working with our responses. With people of all ages (from kids to seniors) in attendance, Home Free keeps it G-rated. Well, maybe PG, if youre paying attention to some of their dance moves (and it was obvious that most of the women in the audience were doing just that!) I wouldnt hesistate, though, to bring either a sweet granny, an innocent tween, or even a young child to one of their shows. (Although Id bring ear plugs for younger children, as I would for most any concert. Without instruments, the volume is comfortable for adults, but children seated near a speaker should still have ear protection.)But back to those voices! Strip away everything else, the comfortable venue, the friendly staff, and all the laughs, and youve still got Home Free. Five talented young men... okay, five talented, tall and handsome, young men who together equal much more than the sum of their parts. Theres not a weak link in the bunch. Its amazing what these guys can do with their voices. If you didnt know they were a capella, youd swear there were instruments hidden off stage. In particular, its hard to accept that all those drum sounds are coming out of one mans mouth. Adam Rupp, the groups beatboxer, is undoubtedly the worlds most talented vocal percussionist. Adding to the rhythm section is Tim Foust with his deep bass voice. Chris Rupps smooth baritone adds additional fullness, while tenors Rob Lundquist and Austin Brown carry the high notes and provide additional novelty sounds.Home Free is a cohesive vocal band, but everyone solos in this group. Last night Chris brought back an audience favorite Little Bit of Everything, while Rob charmed us with covers like 9 to 5 and Honey Im Good. With his five octave range, Tim gave us his original Champagne Taste and the encore Ring of Fire. Austin lent his bright and soaring voice to the likes of Colder Weather and the original Dont It Feel Good (for which the current tour is named). Adams drum solo had people on their feet.Thats not the entire set list, of course, and some of Home Frees unique medleys and mashups put more than one vocalist in the spotlight, often putting a country spin on songs from the pop genre.... but, I dont want to give the whole show away.Home Free would be fantastic in any venue, but with its excellent acoustics, the Jay and Linda Grunin Center was a great place to see them, and was totally worth the 2.5 hour drive. I would definitely go there again.
