Very disappointed with the managments reaction to valid concerns raised by members of the community. Would not recommend visiting this club based on that alone, but theres also the fact that there are patrons of this establishment who ignore RACK/SSC basic rules. If the management is not going to police these behaviors and foster a safe environment for the community, then I would highly encourage people to avoid this establishment until that changes.A mutual friend was exposed to a patron of this establishment who did not regard even the most basic rules to be necessary. Consent and boundaries are the foundation of the entire community, and lack of regard for that is selfish and extremely dangerous. When management was contacted, they were essentially told that this club wasnt for them and to sort their own stuff out. Talk about a terrible situation! Someone who has been traumatized in your establishment should be treated with care and respect, and it should be dealt with! Ignoring this is shameful, and tantamount to complicity. Shame on you!

The club is clean, and the majority of people there are lovely. Sadly, one bad apple ruined my visit, and any chance of future visits. Not recommended for newcomers. At least one member is more interested in his art than in safety, communication, or etiquette. Management appears primarily interested in keeping things drama free rather than safe, sane, and consensual. Safe words, appropriate use of tools, and respect for the wishes of others are apparently optional. Would have appreciated a tour, or even just being pointed in a direction beyond inside; it might have changed the outcome of the entire night for my partner and me. (Edit: it appears that my partner was offered a tour about an hour after we arrived, but I did not receive the same courtesy. I do not know who offered her the tour, if they were a club employee or representative, or why I was not extended a similar offer. Please note that, as I did not know the building layout, I did not leave the social area.)I am mentored and experienced in the lifestyle, though my partner is not, and I know how a club should function and how consent should be attained. Complaints regarding the appalling behavior of one member were dismissed by management, once my partner and I worked out what had actually happened to her; there had been some confusion when my partner found me after her introduction, and the member who had taken her aside without informing her Domme (me) used that opportunity to make statements that were both inflammatory and inaccurate.We received neither an apology nor a refund. We will not return, and will not recommend The Body Shop locations unless management and oversight undergo a major overhaul.ETA: in retrospect, I have additional safety concerns about The Body Shop. I had difficulty hiring a ride when I chose to leave, presumably due to the publicity of the clubs location. My partner did not see a single first aid kit as she explored, nor did she locate a restroom or other source of running water. The room she visited was dark, with red lighting, which makes it impossible to see injuries clearly unless they bleed significantly. Neither of us saw any kind of sanitizer or bleach solution, which, like first aid kits, should be plentiful and obvious, and clearly present in every room. What doorways I could see from the social area downstairs appeared too narrow for first responders to readily traverse.Even if I we had not experienced such poor treatment, these issues would have made me wary until such time as I could be shown otherwise. BDSM is potentially very dangerous, and safety considerations must be held first and foremost. Assuming that these necessary precautions are and have always been in place, their availability and location must be pointed out to every visitor at the beginning of their first visit. This is not negotiable.Edit #2: we received a refund about 12 hours after this review was first posted. This, at least, is a small mark in the clubs favor. Too little, too late, but better than nothing. I assume the matter is now as resolved as it ever will be.
