Sapowet Marsh

So beautiful here. We kayaked amongst a handful of egrets. Their everywhere. When you walk in its nice to swim too. I saw teenagers jumping off of the bridge near by. We checked when high tide would be. Ill definitely come back here. It was so peaceful.

Small, not alot of people, some cool bird watching. Sadly, you should bring an empty trash bag with you and pick up what others leave behind. Its so peaceful.

What a lovely small spot.You can park there if you would like to enjoy the scenery.When i parked, i saw some people Barbecuing. I am not sure if that is fine to do so there nor i encourage it for this spot doesn’t seem to support such an activity. And for some reason if you still want to bbq, please make sure you do not leave any trace— yes, carry your trash with you.Other than that, I would say its a lovely spot to park a bit on your way to your main destination.

My original rating was 4 stars but last year they placed boulders to stop cars from being able to drive further onto the makeshift beach area so now parking is difficult and our car is no longer easily accessible while were enjoying our time by the water.

Very quiet family place

This is a DEM managed wetland and ocean beach that is a ticking bomb. There is too much conflict between waterfowl and small game hunters and public who park near the beach to watch sunset and take a walk on the beach where hunters setup. There is goose hunting field which is also shared by small game (rabbit) hunters. One requires total camouflage, other walks around with 500 sq/inch orange vest and barking dogs. There were incidents where small game hunters would shoot at geese landing at waterfowl hunters decoy setup, with illegal lead ammo. Public having access here and seeing birds shot in the air is not a pretty scene either. The area needs to be partitioned accordingly and each visitor should enjoy the area without bothering the other.
