This is a very different place if you are just visiting with your RV. There is a mixture of homes, RV homes, RV sites and a lot of concrete. They have two restaurants on the property, the Cafe and the Blue Heron, both have limited hours (if/when they are open). One is open from 7-12p (this was closed during our stay) and the Blue Heron is open from 11a-7pm. The Blue Heron had decent food. They do have golf, tennis, along with a couple of other outdoor activities. I’m sure that those who live here or use it as winter residents enjoy it, however, if you are visiting with your RV and want a different experience, it may not be for you. On this trip, it was only my wife and I. Based on my observations, it wouldn’t be suitable for kids or a young family.

Our Sure Guard transfer switch died on our way to The Great Outdoors RV park In Titusville Florida. They have 8 service bays. They overnighted a new one and had me drop off my Newmar 8:00 am next morning. Done by 10:00 am all in less than 24 hours from the the time I first called them. Enough said (damn)

This is a nice place with nice amenities (Golf, pickleball, shuffleboard, PooL). it is close to shopping (2-3 miles). Is is not a family RV place. This is a retirement RV resort so if that is what you are looking for then this is it. Lots of golf carts and friendly people but no kids. Overall very nice

Good location, gated retirement community, lots of amenities & activities...1500+ resident sites...well kept... which comes with lots of enforced rules to keep it that way. Most older people love it...younger people call it Gods Waiting Room.

Love the details in the care and upkeep of the grounds. People ...everyone guests and employees all wave as they pass by. Feels relaxed with lots to do if you want. The wildlife is very enjoyable... deer, turkeys, eagles, lots of cranes, alligator, rabbits, frogs, fish, turtles, ducks..it was great. We may just buy there. Many buy, then move up a couple of times. Restaurant food was great and so was service. Golfing looked great but we had no clubs with us. Rent a golfcart there and have an adventure

My grandparents have lived in this park fulltime for over 15 years now. Its an amazing community, friendly, and warm. Its extremely well manicured and tended to, from greenery and shrubs to houses and roads. I definitely recommend at least vacationing here!

Great course, members, food, staff, and greens. I would have given 5 stars, but for the fact that the drinks were beyond expensive. Worth the short drive from Orlando. Members purchased the course and the greens are better than the over priced and over rated $100 courses in town.

We love that. My family and I had a very good time there. We rented the spot 21 sunset by the owner, and we had a incredible Christmas. The area is really organized, the bathrooms were clean, with a double room to have a shower. The people there are friendly, the security efficient. We went with our 10 months baby that slept all nights because of the silence. Thank you Great Outdoors Campground for our excellent time there.

My parents are Snowbirds from Massachusetts and they have their vacation home in The Great Outdoors. My husband and I visit them there on the weekends. Its a gorgeous community with all types of homes. Its part of a conservation park so seeing the various wildlife is always amazing. Between the deer, alligators, Bobcats etc its always an exciting adventure. They also have 2 different restaurants in the community and both are great places to dine at. If youre looking for a great community to live in where everyone is super friendly GTO is it!

A good park but for us its a little too big. We have a 1 year old and this place isnt really built for families in mind. I cant blame them but this is just made for an older demographic. Nice Amenities, clean bathrooms, several pools. Its really a great park, just not for us.

Strange resort. Very large, a small town. All services available on site or nearby.Seem to be lacking revenues, as many of the services could be improved or better organized.Golf course is ok, very average condition (but it us April, possibly end of their season...?)They pick up garbage in early afternoon, after squirrels have made a mess everywhere. They don’t pickup after a mess... quite dirty in some sections, but some othet sections are beautiful. They will cut grass around tennis courts when everyone is playing. Debris flying everywhere, a lady player got hit in the face by small rocks. If you are a visitor and want to play tennis, this resort is definitely not for you. Mornings are reserved for ‘club members ‘. Of course you can pay the annual membership, as everyone will remind you.....If you want cable (provided by park), they don’t seem to know that you have to go at ‘Spectrum’ in town to get your free box.Spectrum will also provide very high speed Intetnet, but nobody knows about it at the welcome center.Overall, we will not come back. Park managed and setup for owners, not renters. Many better parks all over Florida.

Nice people answering the phones and at the welcome center. Shuffle boards courts are very nice. Juke box staff are friendly. RV resort is beautiful but not for us. Here are the reasons why this is not a place for us, we are under 55+, no camp store, NOT a kids place at all. Most residents are not friendly and act like they are better then you. Can not really fish due to gators. No splashing or jumping in the pool, residents you will tell you this. Security officer stops kids even if they are 16 and questions them. If kids are under 16, you best be with them. Unless you are by Doggie world there is not many places to walk your dog. Must have a golf cart, things are very far and spread-out. Many older folks fly around the resort on their golf carts and do not abide by the 15 MPH speed limit. Glad I had the one night free coupon. As price is very expensive when you cannot have FUN.

If you are going to spend any time in Florida, and would enjoy 18 holes of golf, 2 swimming pools and absolutely fabulous amenities like 7 day a week garbage pick up,you need to go to The Great Outdoors in Titusville, FL, although you might feel a little lost among the 2 million dollar rigs that abound there ! This resort was the brainchild of Jack Eckert of Eckert pharmacies. If there is a better place to stay with nicer people it would be hard to imagine. Its 10 minutes from the Kennedy Space Center
