Its a great park. Clean and theres so much for kids to do. It has a skate park, a playground, a walking trail, basketball courts.

This is a beautiful park with lots of space. The ground is padded track so no woodchips, sand, or gravel in your shoes or sandals. There are multiple levels for little and bigger kids. There is a carousel Memorial Day to Labor Day. There is plenty of shade over a good number of picnic tables.

The Thorntonfest took place when I was there. It filled the entire park. It was a very large event. They had stuff for the kids, Talent contest, bands, dog events, police dog demonstrations, food, vendors, car show and more. Was lots of fun with lots of stuff going on. Worth going to next year.

Family favorite park! The playground is good for all ages. There is a bathroom nearby (Im not sure if its open year round), trails to walk around, and a splash pad (not open fue to Covid). We love it here!

Love the lake tons of fish, a field to play with your dogs or kids, a play ground all updated with new equipment. Mostly but definitely not last the doc you call walk out on to and look at the river from an eagle view point. Oh and before I forget they have cycling bike boats for rent from 12 an adult and 5 or 6 for each kid.

Super nice and clean park! It is also a very nice size! There is an amazing park for kids to play at, there are trails to walk on, there are 2 ponds that you can walk around that is nice, and there is also this really big field that is really nice for group sports like soccer and football!

Always a great place to take the kids to play and during normal operations the merry go round and lake activities can be real fun. We also hosted a birthday party here a few years back and that was enjoyable.

This park has a wide variety of playground equipment for little ones up to bigger kids. In the summer it has a water feature that is great for them to play in.

Its definitely the best Park in Thornton, First of all its one of the few places to have fireworks shows on the 4th, one of the best, along with the festivals and holiday celebrations, also great playground for the kids, featuring an actual Carousel that they use to open on sundays, but thanks Covid, it and the paddle boats are closed, along with a lake and the Rec right there, it definitely deserves 5 stars, if not 6, oh and cant forget the skate park at the side entrance....

Super place to take your family and children for a day of fun. Also there are covered patio areas for picnics, with a view of the mountains. Basketball, tennis, volley ball courts all set up waiting for players.The park is very clean with lots of grass areas and sidewalks for disabled. Also disabled parking is available.

Awesome play ground with everything you could possibly imagine to do, several climbing structures, a spring animal, swings (including for those who are disabled), all manner of general playground equipment. Lots of shade, nice bathrooms. No water fountain to be found.

Well groomed and a great place to get a good walk and workout. Great job keeping the area and park beautiful!

Super cool park! So many cool structures for kids to play on! They have a really cool splash pad with a giant spread and they have running trails all around!

This park is very big! There are so many cool things here that my son loves to do, and there are always some nice kids here for my son to play with.

Brand new senior center for thornton. It is beautiful and convenient. Room to park and stretch oneself. Cudos to city of thornton.

Best local park. Just one look and you would agree with me that this park has it all. Basketball courts, playground, field, trails, skatepark, just to name a few.

The kiddos love this place, its big enough to not get boring, with a pond, trails to walk or bike, a theatre, a Merry-Go-Round(only open during summer I believe), concessions (only during season or event), bathrooms(during season or event) and port-a-potties, giant open fields, a skate park, and the recreation center all the while with plenty of parking. And its well kept, and maintained.

I love the water works. In the summer even my husband and i get wet to cool off on hot summer days. Its a very clean park. Lots to keep the kids entertained. They love it and so do we.

Over crowded with people. No social distancing, no mask, no care for others. Not even the geese were safe from a woman and her dog.

We spend a lot of time here. People are generally cool, well maintained, and lots to do. Bug infestation is bad in summer since there is a lake on property. Bring off and youre all good.

I love this Park!! A lot of options in this Park, there are some Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball courts and a lot of open space to do pretty much anything, you can have partys and cook outs and even if you only want to go and let the kids run and play you can do that its very safe and I always feel that I can let my kids run and play with no worries.

Super fun street section. The mini bowl would be great if was not so slippery. They need to sandblast it or do something so it is not so treacherous. A lot of my friends wont go there because of that.

One of the nicest parks in this area, except for too many Geese. Might want to rename it Goose Poop Park

I love this place. So much to do and my dog especially liked watching the ducks on the water. Both my dog and I got our walk in for the day. :)

One of the best parks in the north metro area in my opinion. We always have fun there. Lots of rides for the kids. A big splash pad that gets busy on the hot days. A carousel and paddle boats to rent. Fishing, and walking around the lake. Just a great place to let the kids play and have fun.

This place has been yet the most amazing place I have ever been on a 4th of July!!! The excitement of all the food stands, the amazing people that I was able to encounter there, was able to continue to give me hope for us as Humans...there are days in many rows sometimes that give me lots of concern for who we are as people, the way we treat Earth-(the source of sustainable food, and shelter), One Another-(what happened to treat others like you would like to be treated), my list could go on for hours...however, this evening of beautiful fireworks, children, long in-love elders, and pure souls...Rich foods, some with sugar, some with salt...then many others with- sweet, salty, chocolaty, fruity, oozing and goozing all together foods, that gave the rest of the night the sweet summer remembrance for stories to tell, and ideas for dreams many years to come.

Always clean, 2 great sized playgrounds. Carousel and boats open on weekends for a good price. Variety of sidewalks for runs/walks. Friendly people.

Lots to do at this massive park. Miles of trails to walk/run around the huge green space and lake. There is a pretty new playground which attracts a crowd most days.

Nice park. Lots of goose poop! They have an auditorium that I believe they do shows and movies in the summer. Large open grass field where many sports are played. Right next to the rec center.

Pretty sweet place for the kiddos. Gymnasium is super cool. Kids love it. Good for B Day parties!

Great park to take the kids

Great place for a family reunion with lots to do from paddle boats and fishing to a large playground and an awesome splash pad! They also have trails to walk and basketball courts along with tennis courts. Plus the actual Recreation Center is right next to the park. If you have a skate board they also have a skate park and the City of Thornton keeps it looking great at all times! I almost forgot you must check out the huge mural in the underpass that runs under Colorado Blvd just to the east of the Rec center so there is so much to enjoy!!

My kids and I really enjoy riding our bicycles to this park. They have a nice BMX area with ramps and drop in pool. They also have a great walking/running trail. They have duck paddle boats and a stage area.

This park is awesome! It has a lake and you can rent paddle boats there. I believe its $6 for 30 minutes, but am not positive. On Sundays, sometimes Saturdays, theres weddings in the Park area so little ones end up on the playground in their suits and their pretty little dresses. You can reserve table areas for parties. theres a vendor there who sells hot dogs pop candy. Running water in the bathrooms!! to the east of the playground, theres a basketball court. To the east of that theres a pretty good skate park. Lots of pretty flowers. Be careful where you step, theres lots of geese there too! Youre not supposed to feed them.

Izy son loves the pool and its not usually overly busy if you go on a week day. If your a thornton resident with rec id its not too 3xpensive but the hot tub almost neverzs open.

A fairly new play area, with a fun water feature that always has kids playing in it when its hot out. The play area is quite nice. And they also have an amazing old carousel. Along with paddle boats and nice walking paths. Gets crowded over the weekends.

This is one our favorite parks. Its always clean and well taken care of. The restrooms are also clean and stocked. My son also attends the preschool inside the recreation center and they have the best staff ever. Theyre friendly and attentive. My son LOVES his class. This rec center is always.offering community events and has an all around great environment.

Wonderful park for kids and teens alike. The actual playground of the park is awesome and can entertain ages 3-11 without difficulty. There are also wonderful restrooms, tennis courts, a skate park, and basketball court. These all beside a lake with a long path leading all the way around it. Only complaint I would have to say is that at times the park is crazy busy, but that only proves that it is one of the best for miles.

When we went 3 weeks ago, because of COVD19 activities were restricted.

Kids love playground and skatepark.. also pool was on top of their list this summer..walked lake too.. lots to do even when busy..

Absolutely love this park. Something to do for every age group. If only some visitors were mindful of their trash! I found empty containers around the kids play area.

This rec center and park are the best in the area. There is so much to do for both kids and adults. They are so thankful to have a place like this in our community.

This place is great for any day, they have plenty of outdoor space plus they also have anything you need indoors. From a gym, large pool and other activities. Pool is probably the greatest attraction, due to the fact that it has a wave pool, lazy river, slides and more. really recommend this place for the whole family.

Amazing park, makes you proud to be a Thornton resident! Big outdoors kids playground, skatepark, tennis courts, walking/running trails, paddle boats, merry go round. Great, cheap place to go if you have kids!

Im actually here right now at this park. On the south side people are flying some kites while the playground up north is full of kids having fun. And parents also. Multi-cultural fun going on all over. Sometimes I just sit and relax from a hard day.

One of the best parks in the area. I play tennis there regularly. Great courts. Nice, big playground for the kids, plenty of space, and a very popular skate park. Huge green areas for very large community events.

Carpenter Park has everything and more that could be reasonably desired from a park: splash pad, shelters, giant fields, tons of trails, shaded and extensive playground, boathouse, merry-go-round, stage for movies and bands, and Ive probably forgotten something. Expect crowds at peak times and lots of daycare busses in the summer. Maintainence is great. Watch out for lots of goose poop when its goose season and docks are gross with all the nesting birds there. Expect multiple birthday parties on warm weekends. Its a super park, especially for families.

Great place to bring kids! Water park and playground equipment was varied for different age groups. Its FREE99, and the picnic benches and shaded areas are a plus.

Great place for health based cheese sandwiches! They also have a gym!

This park is almost always busy and the equipment up keep needs work. They have lots of fun things for the children to do.

Great park with a good street course, ramps, and multi-level obstacles. One bowl though, but decent sized.

When you get all the construction done the rate might go up.

What a cool park. Cannot wait to go back. Only complaint is near the playground there is a trashcan that seems to have a beehive near it.

Huge park with nice trails. Very dog friendly (leashed only). Great playground area from what it looks like. Also some really cool art in the stage area.

City of Thornton events are well organized, city staff is everywhere to help. Very fun and safe thanks to city officers interaction with the community. I love our city.

This park is huge, and on every 4th of July, all day long has food courts, live bands. For the whole family, with fireworks to finish, well groomed,place, also has playgrounds, skate park fields forever. For games, parties, also very nice rec center. With swimming!

This is a clean, safe park. There are family-friendly events throughout the year. There are nice trails, play areas for kids, and a fun pavilion.

Have had a number of beautiful times here with family.

My grandchildren have so much fun at this park.
