Give yourself 4 to 6 hours to really enjoy this place. The tour was good and the house was beautiful. Children under 5are not able to go into the house so plan accordingly. The master bedrooms were turned into an Native American artifact gallery and a display for time piece setting furniture. I think it would have been better if we could have had a glimpse at what it would have looked like during Pansies residence. The upstairs is now an Art Gallery. So even though I loved the Native American artifacts it makes more sense to locate it upstairs. Our Guide was good but there were quite a few questions he could not answer from our group.I really appreciated being able to wonder at our own pace through the grounds, stables and milking quarters. They were as impressive as the interior of the house.I would highly recommend going!

The gardens and trees are beautiful. The house is not open yet for viewing due to Covid 19 but they allowed us to see most of of the other buildings around the main house. The visitor center was very helpful in walking with us since I have a mobility scooter and did not have access to everything that easily.

For only $11 to have a walk around with my fiance, it is an absolutely affordable price for what is offered to see and take pictures of! I will definitely be back!!

Its so beautiful here! Aside from the fact that slaves were forced to work here and that the original owner fought for the confederacy... Otherwise this is such a lovely place. Self tour is cheaper but you wont be allowed in the main house. Gardens, a hedge maze, horses, a cemetery, lots of history.

A truly lovely and gracious home, set on a jewel of a property. The rules are No pictures, and dont touch anything, which was a little hard. Why? Well there is a library. I toured with my mother, also a reader, and we both had to put our hands behind our backs. There was a carving of a dog, and it was hard not to pet it. There are so many beautiful things to look at, and of course, you want to touch them, too. This was a private home until 1978. Its comfortable and gracious. The upstairs has been converted into an art gallery. If you enjoy paintings of dogs and horses, you will enjoy it. I saw a portrait of an Irish and an English setter, and the English had exactly my own dogs expression. If thats a standard by which one judges art, this was an excellent collection.I didnt tour the grounds, though I wanted to, as it was very hot, and my mother was getting tired. What I saw was amazing, just gorgeous. I mean to return when its a little cooler.

It is a special place. Amazing for its time. All of the items, artifacts, history, and focus on animals, nature is what made it so special. I loved it! But some areas needed work. Mold was strong. Picnic tables in disrepair, we brought our lunch and had to sit close together because of the condition of the only table could actually sit at. Oh but the view was grand.

Pretty darn cool. Self guided walking tour through grounds... mostly a hunting estate that used to be a plantation, so I didn’t see any signs of the previous cotton fields. But it was so beautiful. Couldn’t do the main house, as the request 6 and older due to the hour long guided tour, and we had 3 under that age... next time though!

What a beautiful example of a southern plantation. After the 1890s the plantation was primarily a hunting/horse raising plantation. The tour mainly focuses on that part of the history, carefully not talking about how the plantation was run before that. It did leave us wondering as to the rest of the history. We also were curious about the staff people who worked there after the 1890s. Of course, these are questions we thought of on the ride home!! Drat! However, if youre looking to see what a place like this looks like & how people lived in the time period, it is a beautiful place to visit. It would have been more satisfying if they had been more upfront about the complete history of the plantation.

Nice beautiful grounds. The main house was okay. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, but he raised his vioce at me a couple of times and I didnt appreciate it. Once because I put my finger on a wall to see if it was real marble because it looked fake, which it was fake. Then again, because he was showing us a room and I couldnt see it because the doorway was taken up by him and two others. So I thought I could go to the other open door to the room to see it and hear him talk. Mind you the doors are roped off to the room so you cant go in, the doors are open so you see in and he could see me from where he was standing, but he decided instead to yell at me to stay there. I wont go back or take visitors back to this place. I drove an hour and 15 minutes with guests to see this place. Thought if I liked it I would take future guests. Not now.

Pebbles Plantations is an interesting home built in the late 1890s, most of it destroyed by fire and rebuilt in the 1920s. Very large house with gardens, barns oncce used to house their dairy cattle and milk business. Later the barns were used for horses. The house features some original features and furnishings. It also has one owners art collection of paintings and sculpture. The majority of this is of animals, hunting scenes. Hunting is very popular in the Thomasville area and it still has over 70 private plantations. Would have liked to know more about some of the homes antiques.

What a cute place! Pebble Hill is located just outside of Thomasville, GA, and was an easy drive for me from Tallahassee, FL. Very beautiful setting, just visited for a family members wedding. The air conditioning in the church did not work well and the ceiling fans did not work (or no one showed the bride and groom how to work them as we tried many switches). The bride and groom had to provide all decorations and there was no signage provided by the plantation the day of the wedding so thankfully for cell phones guest found there way through the maze. The air conditioning worked well in building used for the reception and bathrooms were well maintained.

If you like Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, this place is for you. When my wife told me we were visiting a plantation, I improperly assumed that it would be an ante-bellum plantation. Not a chance. While the history of the plantation starts prior to the Civil War, it isnt part of the story. The story starts in the 1880s when the plantation is purchased by a rich Ohio family. Then proceeds the Rich and famous summer palace story and tour. I gave it 3 stars, due to the knowledgeable docent.
