Amazing distance on the outdoor range, very friendly place and a good price. I am from out of state and this was the perfect place to get warmed up and dialed in for my hunts. I might need to come back for a quail hunt sometime!For anyone looking to hunt privately here I saw a nice sized doe on the property while we were setting up to shoot, so definitely give this place a look!

A great place to go shooting. Since its a private club you feel like you have the whole place to yourself which is really wonderful since its a lovely area. The rifle range out to 700 yards gives you plenty of room to stretch your rifles legs out too. I dont think I can go back to shooting at public ranges after visiting here.

This place is great! Been coming here to train our dog on birds and the guy who owns it is always ready for us when we get there (even though were often a few minutes late from our commute from Dallas.) You cant beat the price or the distance from Dallas, but on top of that, hes always available and helpful every time we go out to train our dog. Couldnt ask for anything better!

Had a great time with a few friends in a super relaxed environment for a reasonable price. Pistol, shotgun and rifle are all okay to shoot and the rifle range goes out as far as 700 yards. It is all outside and not much shade, but otherwise an ideal place to spend a few hours outside shooting.

Great place for family outdoor family fun. Just went back after not shooting for a while. Walter has made some amazing improvements to the place! Loved the battery operated skeet thrower (foot control so you can shoot solo too). It was really nice to be able to shoot skeet, then handgun, then rifle all the way out as far as you would ever want to take a shot at an animal. I cant think of another range nearby where you can do all 3. I have hunted duck on his property once so far, and there were more than a three man limit to be had that morning. Looking forward to shooting some upland birds soon. Best shooting experience in the area and I highly recommend.

This place is awesome! I live in Dallas and the drive is decently close and very easy to get to. Walter is very accommodating and very easy to get a hold of. I usually send him a text with my desired range time and he usually responds within an hour to advise if the time is available or not. I can only go on Saturdays or Sundays and I have yet to be turned away. I am preparing for an upcoming rifle elk hunt and his long distance range is definitely helping me get dialed in for my long distance scenarios. The gravel road and the dirt road to the different yardage markers are very well maintained (I drive an Infiniti G35 and have no issues driving down either of them). Thank you Walter for such a great place and I look forward to coming out there again. Looking forward to a duck hunt or two as well this year out there.

Walter was very welcoming for our first visit with our young setter pup and he had even helped us with some suggestions from Rowdy about what we should do with our 9-mo old Setter. The field was great. We look forward to getting back out there very soon!

I was here when the place started. A really great place and the owner, Walter, is really great. Went out of his way to make sure everything was good. It being a residence makes a very homie feel. Very comfortable place.

What a great place to go. Took my young Brittany out for a morning quail hunt. The birds flew strong and Walter was a great help. I will be back soon and often. Highly recommend.

I always enjoy hunting at Poetry Shooting Club. Its close and accommodates a variety of birds. Walter makes sure hunters are happy and encourages youth hunters to be exposed to the outdoors. Made for a great opening weekend to duck season!

Although I have not hunted, I live on the premises of the Poetry Shooting Club and witness the hunters that come out. Walter Patton (owner) is very accommodating to hunters, whether it be providing equipment, privacy, or advice. He is very enthuisiatic about quail hunting and teaching others the joy of the hunt.There are other activities besides quail hunting. Duck hunting is usually pretty successful. There are lots of deer for the deer hunters, feral hogs, and three ponds full of bass, catfish, and bluegill.Oh. theres also the 700 yard gun range that keeps the air ringing with the sound of gunshots all year long!Overall, Poetry Shooting Club is a great place to go to get away from the rat race of every day life.Try it- youll like it!

This was my first experience hunting and tried out quail hunting at Poetry. They were extremely helpful and patient with us. I would definitely recommend new hunters to try it out Poetry.

I was there today and it is a great place to shoot, escpecially if you want to shoot long range. This is my new favorite range. I will start visiting more frequently.

Walter, the owner, is very pleasant to deal with. We used the longer range targets at 500 yds; he also has targets to shoot out to 700 yds. Its nice to have the whole place to yourself. Just call in advance and book a 2 hr slot. Ill surely visit Walter again next time Im in town and wanting to go shooting.

What a fun place to bring your rifles. They have dirt backstops set up every 100 yards from 100 to 600 yards.

Love that we can shoot all our guns (pistol, rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader) safely and with the place to yourself. Weve kept a membership 2 years in a row now.

45 Minutes away from Dallas and finally a place where I can shoot my guns in peace and enjoy it to the fullest with no stupid rules.
