Seems like wasted use of much needed library space. This used to be the city library? I dont understand why the current library that has hundreds of visitors is forced into a tiny building where people are packed in like sardines. Meanwhile this heritage museum gets one visitor here and there and gets dibs on the massive building? The library at least offers useful services to the public on a near daily basis. Only one floor of this heritage museum is being used for the public-doesnt make sense.
There is one nice woman there on Wednesday.Made me feel good to chat.Make sure to visit the library and the Azteca store on the same trip. It will be an experience like you have traveled back in time. Cool people at the library, and the Azteca store. All this was free, donate a buck or two.
This museum is a wonderful old Carnegie library. So, if you like history, its worth coming here just for that. The collection inside is a hodgepodge of items that make you wonder if youve come to a rummage sale. However, in talking to the docent and strolling around, youll discover a few historical jewels.
I visited this museum with a friend. We enjoyed looking and reading about Terrell. What we found to be very impressive is the man who told stories of the history of the town. I feel like I could have listened for hours. I hope to be able to go again.
Great little place. Not very large museum but packed with a bunch of great items from Texas history. Terrell is a great community and this museum offers a slice of all the fascinating things about the town. From time period dolls to pictures of the growing town it was a lovely visit for this new resident! My children even loved the visit-- with coloring books and a chalk board to write on at a little table-- they felt like they were a student in an old schoolhouse. Friendly curators made this visit absolutely fun! Will definetly go back.
