Awesome trails for kids and adults alike. Difficulty is easy. Very quiet but since its nestled by homes you can hear the stray lawn equipment at work. For this crazy time, the nature center staff did a great job of pandemic-proofing the experience. Come here to get a piece of your sanity back.

Ive known of this place for a years and have always wanted to visit but timing never worked out. I was finally able to make a trip with my son over the weekend. We arrived later in the day (4pm) on a Saturday and the parking lot was about half full. (Despite this we rarely saw or encountered other people) There are about 20-25 parking spaces in the lot. Upon leaving the lot we noticed that (as expected) the center was limited due to COVID. Many things such as the nature center itself and bathrooms were closed, understandably, for safety purposes. The trails were clearly labeled and very straight forward. There were lots of one-way signs ensuring that people dont or shouldnt cross paths while walking. You follow the trails which may lead you into another trail or back to the parking lot if you choose. There were clear signs all over the place so itis nearly impossible to get lost. I also noticed chairs at certain intersection which I assumed are manned during the busier times to encusre compliance with the rules. The center offers the typical nature/outdoors experience all while being very close to NYC. The view of the pond area is very nice. There were two birds (an owl and a hawk) in the enclosures. We also noticed two deer during our walk. Admission fees are $2 per person or $10 per family which can be given by a variety of ways including Venmo, Paypal and a CAsh Box. All of which are contactless. Overall we had a great time here. I would love to return post-COVID to check out the nature center.

This is a beautiful, peaceful place. Several trails of varying distances winding through woods filled with chipmunks and birds. There is a butterfly area, as well as a few owls and a hawk that live in the nature center. It costs $2 per person to enter, if you arent a member. Currently, due to covid-19, it is contact less payment. Drop your cash in the box as you pass the entrance to the first trail.

Nice park with a decent amount of trails and no nuisances to speak of. Some of the trails become narrow at points but theres is no need for any extraneous exercise since its mostly flat with no obstructions. Saw plenty of deer, chipmunks, and squirells but I also went in the morning so no one was out to scare them. Overall a pleasant experience that is worth the cost of admission (2 dollars for me)

Very cool place. Wife and I were walking and saw this most amazing artwork made of different color leaves. What a creative mind. But anyway, I really love the energy of this place. Come by and walk the paths or see the Raptors (birds of prey). Or visit the nature center and check it out.

Great summer and spring break camp! My son learned so much, made great friends and cant wait to return! The staff are well trained and more knowledgeable than your ordinary camp. There is a focus on science/STEM in the camp and a big campfire roast at the end of the week. I prefer the peaceful walks through nature and Im glad they have a no dog policy because we can let our toddler run around. Also we usually see deer if we have a long walk. Remember that the deer will avoid an area if they see/hear dogs barking. Im glad they are creating an environment that is welcoming to animals...

Had a couple of birthday parties for my daughters here. Excellent learning adventure. Everyone always seems to enjoyed. Trails have storylines making early hiking fun for the kids. Love the lake, an oasis in the middle of it all. Stay long enough and you will spot snapping turtles, some of which are huge. The nature center itself provides animal exhibits as well as rehabilitation of birds of prey. Awesome place.

This place is nice slice of nature embedded in the town. There are a nice variety of trails to walk along with different difficulty ratings. There is also a small butterfly house where you can do go and feed butterflies. A great place for a day trip. The parking area is not large so arrive early to get a space.

Had a great time on the Full Moon hike with a bunch of friends on Friday, April 19th. Our leader Jill was all Millennial adorable with fun facts about the Pink Moon and interesting info about the foliage. The hike was more of a walk - easy and accessible to different ages and abilities. There is a very cool Victorian mansion in the middle of the woods. It was a nice experience and I will keep an eye out for activities in the future or to just go for a walk in the woods.

Don’t go with your dog.!!It is believed walking your dog on a lead on the gravel path way will disrupt the Tenafly Eco-System within the nature centre. We were instructed to read the pamphlet that would “explain” so in short a dog running through the wood traumatises squirrels and chip monks, and can off-set the delicate balance that is theTenafly Nature Center...Really !!we are that PC that now squirrels and chip-monks experience trauma from dogs on or off the lead ..just stop it ! OK BTW; who determines a level of mental capacity of the squirrel or chip-monk. ( I want that job )I continued my walk with my dog on the leadUpon my return to the car I was met by a TNC Rep. who informed me again.Maybe someone should explain to TNC the carbon foot print when it comes to publishing / printing . Lol for worse than my dog walking through the woods. So dog lovers beware ! You may get chased away by some snotty up-tight Bergen County type . To funny, thing is they were serious .

My friend had her sons Birthday party here and it was such a pleasure to be part of it. I was late because I didnt expect the bridge to be packed on a Sunday afternoon as it was. However, I made it on time to enjoy the best part of the party when the Staff brought out real animals for the children to see, and if you love Animals, you can understand my excitement about it.It was actually the first time I saw a Hawk real close, I was about 1 meter away from it. The park have trails, the longest one is 7 miles long which I plan to walk.If you care about nature and want to help, you can make a donation for the Aviary fundraiser that the park is creating. This is a small nature treasure in NJ and so easy to get there, is the first exit of the Palisades Parkway.

Nice getaway from congested Bergen County suburbia, a 5 min drive from my house. Now I dont have to drive 45 minutes up to Harriman, Bear Mountain or Sterling Forest state parks to get in a hike. Although these are easy mini hikes. Perfect for getting into shape or getting a quick one. This is the first time I tried it, went for a half hour or so before they closed. Will have to explore some more.

This is a beautiful place to enjoy nature, only 40 min drive from Times Square brings you to this great nature reserve, you can admire a lovely red tale hawk named Rubi and two beautiful owls deemed not able to survive in their natural habitat so the Tenafly Nature Center keeps them safe and pampered. If you want to spend a day in nature this is a great place.

So close by and yet an oasis of forest. The butterfly garden is wonderful. I dont love seeing the caged birds of prey, but I hope and assume that they are injured and therefore in captivity. Not just a zooish type thing for human observation only. The trails are great with hidden, little sitting nooks.Enjoyable!
