PROS: This theatre has nice staff and is usually clean. They have a lot to offer at the counter and the bathrooms are well maintained. The seats are relatively new and the size of the theatre are just right.CONS: Besides the pricing of tickets and food being to high (common cinemas problem) the place is to small overall. The front counter itself takes up 70% of the lobby. That becomes a problem when theres a lot of people there. They also dont have that many movies playing. Usually the ones that are playing arent that great either. Above all parking is bad, you either test your luck on the street or park in a far away lot.OVERALL: This place isnt that bad if you stroll in, in the morning and wanna watch a movie thats new and you might like, but it does not compare to other cinemas.
April 27, 2019First of all. The screen. It is legit have off the screen. It looks like a wack smartboard that my teacher would use. I’m having an asthma attack at how dusty the seats are...Second of all, I’m very disappointed how the stuff are so irritating. I just wanna watch the dang movie and they keep causing too many mess. And I really hope they fix this volume because I can’t hear anything. If I could give 0 stars I would.
My movie had a very small screen which was not the best. Also there were these three blue glowing dots projected on to the screen which was very distracting. My experience at this theater was definitely not worth the price I paid. I will not be coming back.
The staff is super friendly, and the theater was clean. It is reasonably priced, and I had a lot of fun. One tip, go in five to ten minutes late, because the previews are on the longish side. Its great to support local businesses and it saves you gas. (Or you can walk).
Everyone needs to keep this small town theater open by visiting and seeing a movie there, every now and then. If you live in Tenafly, you can walk to the theater and get some fresh air too ! Enjoy !
Small intimate theater right in downtown Tenafly. Looking forward to coming back to the town to walk around and scout out the different restaurants
It is old cinema with NO parking and you get a neck pain from watching the screen and is overpriced.
Small, dilapidated theater in major need of renovation.Went there recently to see an afternoon movie with my daughter. I don’t go to movies very often, and now I remember why:Chaos at the ticket counter before a movie. People just walking in without buying a ticket. Old snacks, lousy popcorn. Worn out seats. Sticky floors. Dirty walls. The list goes on. Men’s room stinks.Look, I realize it’s a small time theater and not a big AMC fiasco, but that should make it easier to keep the place in tip-top shape. The fine people of Tenafly and surrounding areas deserve better for their money.
Town theatre NEEDS rennovation, the design is very outdated, small and not very comfortable. It is over priced including for seniors. Parking is very good!
The workers are very rude. One young man by the name who I will not mame (starts with an s), proceeded to tell me that I needed to throw out a back filled with my pills, because he assumed it was food. Without letting me explain myself, I quickly asked if he could hold onto it, and he said he would throw it out, and told me to leave. When I was contemplating whether to pay for the ticket or leave, he started talking bad about me to his workers and proceeded to laugh at me. I found this extremely rude, and unprofessional. I am not coming back to this theater and I recommend you dont either, unless you want someone to laugh in your face and act like a child.
Only wish they would refresh the place little bit to meet current local standards...easy say than done I guess
Quaint theater which has undergone renovations in the past and now remains a solid indie house theater, while still show blockbuster current movies. The staff is friendly and the theaters themselves are smallish and comfortable, but some of the sight lines in the rooms are awkward. It feels like a big screen theater that was chopped up and turned into smaller theaters. Thats not how it is in every theater, but the one where I saw Isle of Dogs was a bit off.But I will going there again as long as they keep showing smaller indie and art house flicks...
Clean, good but lights are on during trailers. But nice
Dated community theater. They cant handle crowds, or even more than a few people in line without stessing over it. Theres only one cash register, and paying is state of the art for the 1980s. I try to avoid this theater.
I think this theatres are far better of those in the Paramus mall.
Intimate theater thats been around for many years. Enjoyed going there as a child with my family. Now I enjoy taking my family there too. Its clean and the staff is friendly. Should and picture quality great!
Small local movie theater. Good popcorn. Comfortable seating. Sound and video are of good quality. The only issue Ive had is that the movies listed are not always the movies playing, it can take them a day to adjust the signs. Parking is easy to find, plenty of places nearby to eat, from restaurants to cafes and diner.
The lighting of the screen is a bit darker than a regular theater. Prices are very good and that makes it worth it.
I know. The auditoriums are generally small with older seats, which recline slightly. I wouldnt go there to see a Marvel movie, but it is perfectly fine for something like Green Book. It is part of the neighborhood and easy to go to dinner in time and then catch a film.
Nice little multiplex theater with comfortable seats. Tickets are a little expensive though.
Horrible people go to this horrible theater. Kids running rampant, sound stinks, seats are subpar
Good local cinema.
Nice place to go to see movie
CleanGood acoustics. Senior discounts.
Great little theater in the heart of tenafly nj. A lot of good restaurants near NY and very friendly owners and staff. Also very clean
Went here to see a movie and the place is run down. However the reason for the 4th star is because there was a bunch of kids in a theatre below us and they were making a ton of noise. The manager had to come yell at them several times. It honestly sounded like a whole class of kids.Long story short as we were leaving the manager came up and gave all of us a free ticket to return. Honestly the noise was only for about 10 mins total on and off. That was very nice of him to do. Shows he values his customers and deserves 4 stars.
I prefer the Bergenfield location. The staff was very nice and polite. The theater our movie was showing was on the second floor and there were no doors to keep the outside noises from coming in. Theres no seasoning area which is standard for theaters now.
Nice and clean and comfortable too.
Very VERY rude and racist the woman was rude and would not allow me in the movie
A small local movie theater. Has up to date features. Clean, good concessions, friendly staff.
Nice small quaint movie theatre. We went to see Chappaquidick
Love this cinema. Great staff. Nice 50s vibe to it.
So glad Tenafly theater opened back up. Very nice staff!
We have to support this old cinema .
Comfortable seating. Brand new.
Film was not shown in proper format with heads cut off, credits cut off on sides and an estimated 20% of picture lost. Manager would not give a refund or pass and stated it was supposed to be that way.
Good selection of films. Theater is a bit run down. Mens Room stinks of urine. Popcorn is mediocre...
Good neighborhood movie theater.
They need to renovate this place way to old
All excited to see beauty and the beast on the big screen and tenafly had the movie in the smallest theater. So disappointed had to watch it looking up. I went home with not only a crimp in my neck but will never return.
Great selection of indie movies, fair ticket prices, and friendly staff. Go for it!
Very old school theater. I go here to support the local town theater, not because the experience is that good. Old screens, bad sound system and bad seats, but the atmosphere of being in a theater this old is cool. See movies where there isnt a lot of action since the sound systems arent good.
Tiny theatres but all new plush seats and spotless clean and friendly
Most things were fine except for the fact that we could see the pipes and everything on the hallway. Also, our auditorium (located at the end of the hallway) was very small and had very bad view. I advise that you use Bow tie Closter.
I think is much better theatre that those in the mall, where are always pack, noisy, unconfortable. Before Im going to one of those corporation theatres I prefer to support this family theatre, believe me you going to enjoy a lot more with your family, instead of fighting for parking in the mall.
Small 4 screen theater with a vintage vibe. Comfortable seats.
Small theaters with comfortable seats that slightly recline and Dolby surround sound.
Great local theater and very few kids.
Seats could be better for the price
Old fashioned, friendly theater.
Small theatre, pretty comfortable seats, usually not crowded.
Small, comfortable seats, nice location - beautiful downtown Tenafly.
Small theatre but nice.
No frills local theater.
Great movie experience. Needs a mortgage to buy at the store
The worst popcorn - dont eat it. Tastes like it came from Costco
Very cool little theater
A bit out of date, but still a nice local cinema.
Nice place
Cozy and clean with very comfortable seats.
Great
Its time for remodeling.... Every time I go there it reminds me of the theaters when I was a child - small and uncomfortable.
Nice movie theatres
Water is 450
Simply the most delicious Macrons.
If youre not looking for frills and ambiance and really just care about seeing the movie. Bare bones, dated but shows the movies. Kind staff.
Small theater
Friendly staff
Get the family plan, go evenings.
Small theaters but ok
It was overall a good experience besides for the somewhat rowdy crowd
Yes. Would go back. Evening Only.
Legit kicked out for 0 reason no refund
Cozy cinema
Small, crowded. Movie broke.
Cozy cinema.
Im sick of this place.
Fine cinema.
Nice movie theater
Not very clean and the sound system was poor.
Geez... You can hear the other theaters and they are tiny, service is terrible, and expensive compared to what you get at an AMC.
Expensive, really old, small screens, uncomfortable chairs
Comfortable. Small.
Cozy and comfy
Small and comfy
The best movie theater yet!
Its ok not a big theater and i think they are still using the the 1990s technology
Ridiculously small screens. $36 for two tickets, a small popcorn and a small water.
Good place
Better than the theaters at the mall, but not the most comfortable theater.
Small theaters, but comfy seating.
