Very nice patient people! My wife and I went there for our LTC class. My wife had never used a gun and they were very helpful and patient with her!Kim, the class instructor was GREAT. She is very easy to talk to and seems to enjoy teaching the class and is very serious about it. If you are nervous or have any reservations at all about taking the class I would suggest taking HER class. She is very intelligent and a very strong willed person who wants you to do the very best possible! They place is clean and the staff is very helpful, so go enjoy. You’ll have a blast!!!

Great customer service from Clayton and Ian. From the first time we walked in the door to the last couple months has been great help suggesting different pistols to try. Considering my wife and I were new to gun ranges and guns in general. They made us feel great and didn’t talk down to us since we didn’t know a lot of the terminologyI would recommend everyone to visit them. Prices are great too.

This is one of the best shooting ranges in central Texas! I love to stop in when I can, as their indoor range is clean and top of the line, in addition to being able to rent some really fun guns!

Ruined my anniversary. Came here for Valentines date with my wife. They took my drivers license and forgot to give it back. It’s not something I normally give out so I didn’t think about it when we left. They were busy showing us guns and trying to sell us something. They had my phone number but made no attempt to contact me. A week later my wife and I go to Louisiana to celebrate our anniversary when I realized I didn’t have my license so we couldn’t go to any of the casinos like we had planned. I’ll never go back there again.

Hawkeye was the highlight of my holiday visit to Texas. Nice facility, affordable pricing, polite and knowledgeable staff, and a wide selection of semi/full automatic firearms to rent. My girlfriend and I rented the RPK and it was a phenomenal experience. We had a great time. Brent was very patient with us and knew when to step in to keep us running smoothly and safely. Just a great experience overall.The next time I visit Texas, Im making a beeline back to this place as soon as I step off the plane. Happy new year, guys!

Kim Martin, our basic gun safety instructor was excellent! She went out of her way to teach us how to properly handle and discharge a weapon; as well as all of the basics about aiming and shooting an array of handguns. Overall, the shop portion of the store had a nice selection of weapons for purchase and rent; and the actual range was clean and nicely designed. We will definitely be back!

This is a long overdue review. I have been coming to this establishment with my girlfriend regularly for a few months in fact we purchased a year membership, and both took and passed the Texas LTC course at this establishment. We have been to most if not all ranges in the area and this one is by far the best. The staff is first rate and the facility is excellent

Well run establishment and the staff was great in helping us out and answered all our questions that we had. Not sure why the low ratings for this place. It’s an academy and seems everyone is very understanding that is running it. I will be going again in the near future.

My wife and I came here today for the Friday date night deal. We had a complete blast! We were warmly greeted by Clayton who was extremely helpful and patient with us throughout our whole visit. He talked about several firearms along with his recommendations based on personal experience and customer satisfaction.He gave us a great onceover of each rental weapon, their operation, and the ruleset for the range. One of our weapons was having issues with chambering rounds, creating constant jams and Clayton and another gentlemen were helpful in troubleshooting the issue, and then giving us a different magazine which fixed the problem.Our hour+ date was extremely reasonable in price and we will be making this our local weapons dealer and range. Cant wait to go back!

Went last night with my wife and 2 daughters. The girls had never fired a weapon before so I was a bit concerned going into the experience. The gentleman on the range was gracious and helped us with our grips and gave pointers here and there, but was not overbearing. The sign-up experience was great and the staff was very helpful. They have a little pug there who is also very happy to see guests. I ran a bit late as they close at 6 and by that time I still had the M16 to shoot and the staff was very accommodating. They did not try to rush us out but instead told us to take our time. The gentleman on the front desk also was kind enough to load our clips for the M16. Overall it was a first class experience with some really great people. Thank you for an awesome experience.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I had the best experience, everyone is beyond nice and respectful. The lady I worked with (Kim) was so knowledgeable, and made me feel like family. Im definitely going to to be returning for all my shooting and self defense needs. Home girl hooked it up as far as experience goes! Ten out of ten starts for Hawkeye!!

Nice, well kept, and designed range. We love the place and pug, but cannot understand why the staff never smile whatsoever. Rude and condescending as if you’re taking your business to a rande in the heart of New Jersey. Come on guys - this is Central Texas. We will give it another shot, but will likely remain in Georgetown from her out.

My husband took me for a date night a few weeks ago and we had a nice time, it was my first time and I was trying to figure out what size gun I would like to shoot better. We shared a lane and we shot his the whole time. They sight the guns and so my husband had his sighted $25 + tax. Which isnt bad. About a week ago we bought me a gun and went there to shoot it. Needing the sights adjusted I left it with them to fix it. Just picked up my gun and charged $41 for mine with no explanation. They guys at the desk never seem to talk to me directly and seemed in hast with me when I went to pick up my gun.

My wife and I had a private shooting lesson with Chuck last week. He was an excellent instructor, bringing over 30 years of law enforcement training and experience to his class. I highly recommend Chuck and the team at Hawkeye Academy in Temple.

I have been to Hawkeye more times than I can remember since they first opened. When I first started going I always enjoyed my experience: friendly staff and a nice facility. However, it seems to be going downhill each time I go. The staff is rude when I first walk in, they seem almost irritated that I am even there. One man in particular (no idea what his name is) always talks to me in a condescending tone and gives the impression that he has no desire to be there or help anyone. A lot of the time there is no range officer when Im in there for some reason and I always end up having to sweep my own casings out of my lane with the floor sweep they have laying against the wall. Im usually there after 5 so maybe Im putting a burden on them for having a day job? With that said, there are a few employees and range officers that have made the experience very enjoyable! Also, the little pug they have running around is awesome.

Very helpful staff who are more than willing to help people new to shooting a weapon as well as those who have done it for years. Very good prices on their new and used guns. I will be a repeat customer.

ImI liked that I could holster fire and rapid fire...Dropped off my 1911 for some new sights.While I was shooting, the return spring on my M&P .40 broke, their gun Smith took it in the back and had a replacement. I was back on range in less than 15 minutes no charge!Good people, will be back for sure.

It was nice I took my daughter with me but she said the employees needs to be a little more friendly.

Went shooting for the first time in a while, and im glad we came here! Staff was nice and ready to help. I used the fully automatic AK74U; and the mags were loaded for us which was nice. An instructor was also next to me just in case. Next, we rented a Glock 43 but quickly ran into problems. First, the gun did not fire when I pulled the trigger, but that could have been the round. I tried again to fire it and it went off, but the Glock failed to eject the spent casing. There was a problem with the extractor, but the staff was glad to give us another weapon and a new case of ammo with no extra cost. Chuck (a great instructor there) came out with us and helped us with grip, and explained the weapon etc. without being intrusive. Also, be sure to bring hearing and eye protection. Overall, I highly recommend coming here!

Finally got to make a visit to this local range. I love to support local businesses, especially firearms related. Upon entering we were promptly greeted by a lady at a counter. I appreciate being recognized instead of the usual look from gun stores as if we are intruders so this was definitely a plus. The men behind the counter though took no notice. The shop is very clean and very modern. We immediately felt we were in a quality, well thought out and organized shop rather than something just cobbled together. On line I saw where my membership in Texas Law Shield would get me $5 off range time, but when I showed my card, we were not offered the discount. The range fee includes and initial target which I really liked since I had forgotten mine. The range itself is excellent, clearly marked, lighted and clean. The lanes are truly quality, not cheaply made dividers and the target return system is outstanding. One thing I found odd though, I was assisting my novice partner and was told by the range master that only one person on line at a time. I understand only one person shooting but I could not understand why a coach would not be allowed. Odd too that just a lane or two away was the exact scenario but they were not discouraged from two people on line. No matter, not a huge deal. Shooting experience was overall great. I will say I am concerned that the rule is to pick up NO brass. I get it, anything forward of the shooting line, but at my feet or behind me? Not sure what that is about. Since you have to use factory ammo, that would be my brass since I paid for it. When we finished we cleaned up our mess (and the range master removes the target so you can just leave it up as we were told) and left. At the check in counter I had a few questions which were answered, mainly on calibers I can shoot which amounts to anything smaller than 308/7.62x51. I found that odd too since you can rent an MG42 which shoots the 7.9 Mauser, much larger and more powerful than the 308. But their range, their rules. Best thing though is that when its hot or too stormy to shoot outside there is a reasonably priced place to shoot in the area. I was considering a membership as I shoot often but with the unusual rules, Im reconsidering it. Nonetheless, this is an outstanding facility and very much welcomed to the area. I wont give up and will try it a few more times before I decide on membership or just going elsewhere. The aloof counter staff, brass issue and inconsistency in rule enforcement keeps me from giving them five stars. Well see how it goes in the future though.

My first time at an indoor shooting range. People were nice and werent like that old man at Webers on 57th in Temple. Ill definitely be back to Hawkeye.

Its a great place. I like the people and environment there. Where else in temple can you fire full auto firearms. There prices are alot more reasonable then webers wish they did a layaway plan guns. So I can stay under the wife radar lol.

It was alot smaller than I expected but we tried to make the best of it..... So as you know they charge by the hour and FYI bring your own eye wear and tear plugs....the worst part was we was in between 2 other people and the security guy called us put saying we supposedly shot at the ceiling but honestly how can he tell if it is or not....so we left early.... I should have left after walking in since noone acoknowleged us in the first place... Definitely wont be back

The range is pretty busy location is good for locals to use to hone their skills. Price is normal for the area.
