We went on a Monday and it was so peaceful, (the person that works there says weekends are a lot busier). The worker was very welcoming and informative. The animals are used for special needs children in the area. You can spend maybe an hour max, so if youre in the area, its a cute place to stop by. Theres also a little chocolate/gift shop (chocolates are okay). My 5 year old enjoyed it.
My niece and I visited the farm for the first time today and we really enjoyed our time there. There are signs on pens that encourage visitors to interact with particularly friendly animals... we brushed a cow and a super sweet water buffalo. We petted a zebra and an adorably friendly donkey. We both went into a chicken & turkey pen. We also petted a bunny. We were allowed to feed goats and lamas. We got a kick out of the loudly snoring pig. There are a few other very cool birds at the farm and a big camel. The owners cleaned pens and watered the animals while we were visiting with their animals. The owners answered questions and were very friendly. They seem to care very much about their farm. At the end of our visit we washed our hands at a hand washing station. They also sell delicious chocolates, honey and sell soaps and lotions. Overall, we were there about 1 hour and had a lovely time. The animal pens are clean and I think they are doing a wonderful job with animals that were injured in nature, are old or needed re-homed. We will definitely visit again.
This is such an amazing place. Everyone here is just so nice, warm and inviting. The animals were all so cute. We cant wait to go back in the future.
Very nice experience. Extra parking in the back. Keep in mind that this is dirt parking. When entering visit the front barn where the chocolate shop is and check in to pay $10 per person for the zoo portion. There are clearly labeled enclosures for which animals are appropriate for petting and which ones are for viewing only. All animals have names, there is a wide variety ranging from birds to sheep and even a Zonkey (Zebra/Donkey). Lani was very kind and gave us an overview before we began our tour.
Cute place to go to. They charge to get on the farm before you get to the animals $10 for adults and five for kids. Small to a certain age are free. Not a bad price. There are a couple of the cages you can actually go into. Some animals that you dont normally see were there. I saw a zebra and we got to pet it!!! I thought that was pretty cool. You can also touch the bunnies and chickens. At the end you get a delicious chocolate sample and theres a cute little shop. Theres also a little cafe and nice outdoor seating. I spent about 45 mins there but can easily spend more time there if wanted. Very cute family friendly farm!!! I highly recommend
Great time exploring with the kid!! We loved petting the chickens, pig and bunny!! Feeding the animals was equally as fun. My son would have loved to stay there for hours! Shout out to Lani and Valerie for being fantastic hosts!! To top it off... the chocolates were divine!!! Thank you again!
What a beautiful farm! The animals are so friendly and you get to feed some of them! Such a fun experience!!
Lots of fun for the kids n good foodWell worth the visit
Great fun place in Temecula next to the wineries. Enjoy learning about animals, getting to play with them and eating chocolate. They make all of their chocolates in house and theyre delicious. Too good that we are them before I couldve taken a picture of them. Once youre done head over to the wineries for some delicious wines
Wonderful little zoo to experience amazing animals that are friendly. The kids loved interacting with the animals and good info on the brochure about the animals. The owner does a great job of telling kiddos about the animals and general rules before going out to the actual zoo. At the end of the tour, there is a hand washing station and you get to sample some delicious chocolate. The drive to the site is beautiful as well.
It was a very relaxing experience I enjoyed petting the animals and getting to know them Also all the workers were friendly!
So much fun for me and the kiddos. Chocolate was amazing!
I came here with my family and we absolutely loved it. The animals are adorable and Valerie was so amazing. Lanis chocolates were delicious! Cant wait to be back.
Cute, quaint little farm.We got there at 9am on a Saturday, had it to ourselves for a good 30 minutes before people started to show up. Ashley was our guide and she was awesome. My parents have a mini farm of their own so we havent attempted this place for fear our 6 children would be bored easily because theyve grown up around a farm. NOT THE CASE.The kids absolutely loved it. We spent about a hour here, they have a great selection of animals to see. You cant pet all of them but thats ok. Not all animals want to be touched but it was so fun to see the different types of animals they have. All in all, wonderful experience. Id even pay more. The chocolate was a hit as well.Would recommend to anyone looking for a little adventure.
Super friendly owner and employees. But you can only pet animals while in their pens and if they come to you. Not like a regular petting zoo. Over priced for whats available. But super cute animals and nice people.
Nice field trip for my granddaughters so close to home. You can even go inside some of the pens to pet the animals!
Nice place to bring the family. Friendly staff members and very clean areas. Animals are adorable! You can stay as long as you wish on your visit
Adorable! Great prices! All the animals have cute names. Can feed some of the animals too. Extremely friendly staff and you even get a little chocolate treat at the end.
Was a cute little farm for the family. And they have a chocolate store. Was yummy
I found this place randomly on maps. I am happy that I did. The staff and volunteer were knowledgeable and friendly and the animals were also super friendly lol. The free chocolate at the ending was he icing on the cake.
This place is small but cute they have some animals that you can pet. Their chocolate store has a great selection definitely a plus.
Cute place and cute animals. People are friendly and take great care of the animals.
Kids loved the interaction with the animals. Staff was great and very attentive. Would greatly recommend!
We had such a great time here today ! We took our 20 months old and she loved being able to touch and feed the animalsIt’s $10 per adult and kids under 3 are freeThe animals were really friendly and we spent around an hour thereThey also provide a sample of the chocolates and they are delicious, we had to buy some !Great way to entertain the kids and the staff and owner are really nice
Cute little zoo, small but fun
Best experience ever!! I loved all the animals n the chocolate is delicious
Went here for second date, had a wonderful time. Very friendly animals! The ladies in the chocolate shop were very informative and very kind. just $10 per person and very worth it. Rare experience.
Found this place online and kept it a secret for a surprise trip for the grandkids. From the website and reviews, it looked like a fun little place. My grandkids (12 & 9) love anything to do with animals, so this looked like a great idea.I cannot stress how horribly disappointed I was...almost embarrassed to have built this place up as a surprise day trip. The lady who greeted us and took our payment was nice and friendly. She gave us an overview of the animals they have, and the zoo, in general. Then, we were off to visit the animals. Thats when the horror began. These animals are in cages so small that they can barely turn around. They had water and some shade available, but no room to exercise or run around, as animals should have. The camel, for example, was lying down the entire time we were there, and I cant imagine hed have room for more than a few steps if he did stand.I walked around the entire place, hoping to find a wide open pasture of some sort for the animals to run around, perhaps after hours. There is no such thing. They are confined to small cages all the time. The animals seemed depressed...sullen and unkempt. They did not appear to be cared for or loved animals at all. Their cages are dirty and not well tended at all.We spent less than 30 minutes with the animals, because we grew increasingly angry the longer we were there. We went into the candy shop to wash our hands, only to find an owl held captive in a dog crate! The dot (literally) of chocolate they provided as a sample had a good taste, but we didnt even look around, as we were did not want to give another cent to this place. Im embarrassed to have given them the $30 entrance fee! Were not typically an activist type family, but we couldnt stop talking about those poor animals. We will be calling Animal services, Animal Friends of the Valley, and anyone else who can assist those animals. NO animal deserves this kind of abuse!!
Fantastic farm with a wide variety of animals and all very friendly and an awesome selection of chocolates in the shop
I visited Sugarplum Farm on Sunday, January 27th and spent several hours there visiting the animals and talking with the owners. An impressive privately owned animal zoo with most of the animals being petable, even the large ones. The animals are well cared for and fed. All are friendly, adorable, and have extremely sweet dispositions that love being around people. The most affectionate being the camel and the water buffalo. Most are actually rescue animals that the owners took in to give them a better life. The owners also provide a wealth of information about each animal and there is an obvious loving connection between the animals and the owners, its fun to watch them interact. This is a wonder place for children to be up close and personal with animals. The zoo is also a work in progress and the owners have great plans for improving the experience for the animals and their visitors. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the chocolates, which would be a crime. I brought some home to my wife and she hasnt stopped talking about them sense, keeps telling me that I need to get more.
Nice, very small.... Go early if its a hot day.
MUST GO! I loved this place ️Rescued animals, they give you a tour and you can stay as long as you want. You get a chocolate sample and they are very nice.
Great farm, friendly people.
Our first time there. Clean stalls for every animal. Staff was very informative & so polite. Great experience.
Fun and friendly atmosphere! Great for kids!
Interesting petting zoo! I thought it was a bit pricey for what they offer but the kids enjoyed petting the animals
Pack a picnic lunch and spend the day with an amazing variety of wonderful animals. Its so exciting to be close to a zebra, a zonkey, a water buffalo, a very sweet camel and many other gentle farm friends. The chocolate is divine
Excellent little gem away from the city stuff. My kids loved it. The animals were very friendly. The cages were a little small for the animals. The staff was super nice and the chocolate was tasty. For the price, it was a little small but I will always support the smaller venues over the large zoos.
Super cute and a fun short get away that kids will enjoy
A really fun petting zoo. They are very welcoming to special needs families.
Wonderful family place! Worth it!!
Always a pleasure to visit. Great place to interact with some rare animals. Lani and the staff are very friendly and knowledgable. Make sure you save room for homemade chocolate treats at the end. I highly recommend if youre in Temecula you must visit here.
We really loved taking the family to the Sugarplum Farm! Highly recommended!
Very nice and clean petting zoo. The lady was very nice they also sale chocolate.
The owner is amazing and cares so much for the animals!!!! She truly has a passion for this and is one of the kindest people I have met! My daughter volunteers here and its the highlight of her week and Miss Lani has been so sweet to her and she has learned so much!!
Awesome little slice of heaven
Loving animals! Beautiful owners!
Very nice. Never petted a Camel or cow before, cant say that now. Great homemade chocolate and dedicated owner (to the animals). Buy chocolate or donate $ to a good cause.
I really had no idea what to expect for our first time. I took my two little ones and it’s just a short drive from from Rancho California. There was a steep hill I had to drive up that was a little sketchy, but once we got out of the car to see the animals, Lani was there to greet us. She gave us a personal tour and was very informative and took her time really letting my two little ones pet the animals. All the animals were friendly and well takin care of. The animals had such a strong bond with Lani, you can tell how much she loves them. After the tour she took us in and gave us some samples of her chocolate it was absolutely delicious, not too sweet. Needless to say we had a wonderful time. I would suggest wearing comfortable shoes, bring a hat if it’s a sunny day, and have a positive attitude!
It was quite small, but it was a good time for a toddler. We enjoyed the fun she had and will be back. The chocolate doesnt hurt either.
Wonderful,, its a sweet place, animals are well taken care of and the staff is wonderful. The chocolate is to die for.
Lani and her husband are amazing people and I loved all the animals. Especially Zeus the camel, Socrates the prairie dog, and perseus the hornbill. Cant wait till Im in the area again to to go back.
One of Temeculas best-kept secrets. The selection of animals here is fantastic. Not many places have a capybara.Good to see so many animals in captivity looking happy. Its probably because they have lots of regular company in the guise of people who dote over them.A quick look at the pictures on their wesbite gives you some idea of what to expect. In the flesh, the winged or four-legged residents make for a fine welcoming committee. My 12 year old son is usually a tornado bouncing-off walls on any given day, but among these lovely animals, hes as calm as a lit candle in a church vestibule. Hes already wanting to know when we can return.Highly recommended for an inexpensive, yet memorable day out for the whole family. There are also delicious home-made chocolates available for those who want an even sweeter experience.
This place is AMAZING Lani is the greatest the chocolate was amazing and such a large variety to choose from the animals were so cute and got to pet all of them everyone should come visit this amazing place
Great place! Highly recommend. Christian was awesome!
Its a very affordable place to go with the kids, to get outside, walk around, and see some cool animals.
Why was no one here?!A petting zoo! Chocolate! What more do you want?! Took my kid here for his 3rd birthday... had a hard time evicting him from the rabbit hutch and when I finally managed that he wanted to hang out with the Grumpy pig. He kissed a water buffalo, neither of them flinched and the lady owner/manager is a wonderful and friendly lady. cheap to visit and non-profit. I would encourage anyone to visit!
Such a great experience. My kid loved it
Very cute little farm and petting zoo. You can touch almost everything and you get to try their chocolate at the end.
There are some amazing animals to see here, like a zonky! The owner is super nice and accommodating. Youll be able to feed and pet nearly every animal they have.
So cute!
I understand why they charge to see the smaller animals, but its not really a full on petting zoo as there are not that many animals. So the cost to get in isnt worth it. Sorry..
So awesome I luv animals and animal lovers really coo animals too
Super cute petting zoo, small but great for little kids. My 2yo had a blast. You can go inside some of the cages. The animals are very friendly. I would go when its no too hot outside so they are a little more active, I felt bad for some of them, they were really sleepy due to the heat. The owner Im assuming was really nice. The piece of chocolate at the end is a cute little gesture. We will be coming back.
It was wonderful, a little breezy for the little one, but very nice and what great location, wonderful views of the rolling hills.
Nice place to take the family to a petting zoo. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a personal guide.
It was awesome!
An all around wonderful place. Great animals, great chocolate, and great owners. 11/10
Fabulous, will definitely go againAnimals are beautiful, loving, well taken care of. This place is a gift.Owner is fabulous
Very small place but cute.
I love that these rescues are being loved and cared for. Perfect size petting zoo for littles!! Plus..great chocolate upon leaving!!
OMG. This is the best place ever. The chocolate is amazing. The people are amazing. The animals are amazing.
Such an awesome hidden gem! The owners are so obliging and really have a love for their animals. Ophelia is so sweet ️
We stayed for two hours because my kids kept going back and forth between all the animals you can pet and feed. Such a cool spot! I took a 10, 5, and 3 year old and they didnt want to leave and already cant wait to go back, which we will definitely be doing!
My kids loved this outing mini peding zoo. Good break from Pachanga. Yummy chocolate treats. Thank you for being so nice, it was only one open with no appointments for our short visit ;)
Wonderful place to visit! The owner is so sweet and knowledgeable about her animals. They are very well taken care of. To to it off her chocolates and decadent!
This place is awesome! Great to take kids to pet friendly animals.
Yes, the chocolate was tasty. Yes, the owner was very nice. However, the conditions these animals have to live in are atrocious. As a professional humane educator in the animal welfare world, it is clear that we have much more work to do if this place is getting the raving reviews seen here. These animals deserve much more than to be confined to these tiny spaces for the rest of their lives and exploited for entertainment. Please, please do not support this petting zoo.
I really wanted to love this place. Took my 3 year old grandson for an outing. The ladies were so nice and informative. The chocolates were to die for. What bothered me was the size of the caged areas that the animals were in. It all seemed way to small. All the animals seemed to be caged in 12X12 foot spaces. This included two very large cows, a camel, and three ponies as well as others. I would love to hear that they roam free during the week and are caged for observation on weekends. Alas I think Im wrong, unfortunately.
My grandchildren love the animals here. They can interact with them. The owner is always on hand to facilitate petting the animals.
The owners are awesome, very friendly, knowledgeable. Outstanding for kids. We spent a few hours spending time with the animals. I did take pictures but I do not want to post my kids.
This is a great little spot to see some exotic animals up close. Pet the camel! They are expanding slowly and Im sure it will be a hot spot in temecula. I only wish you could pet the goats!
Great place to bring the kids. Special needs children are welcome. Added benefit is the chocolate store.
We really enjoy this place they really are nice and is very family friendly, good thing about this place you dont need to make an appointment. We enjoy the animals my little girl was amazed by the llama and the camel they treat u good and they even have a little store so if u want to buy some delicious chocolates, we bought some they really are good, and love how they answer u if u have questions, and we cant wait to come back .They dont have access to a disable person or parking for one but if u have questions to this place call them they really answer u in a pretty nice tone and the price is not tht bad $10 .00 dollars per person and for a child is only $5.00 dollars if it is young like 2 years they go in free two thumbs up for this place, sorry I need to ad this they do have access to disable n parking to but is just tht they r fixing it caouse of the fire they had it .
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, it was a lot of fun to be able to have hands on with some of the animals. A wonderful experience for the young and old alike!
You can feed the animals
Nice people, very knowledgeable, cool animals. Super cool petable prerry dog.
Cool little zoo kids loved the animals and the pig was great
Great place! Awesome chocolates!!
Great service great personnel immaculate inside has coffee popcorn very happy with them and great prices and good warranty
Great people, sweet animals!
I was so excited to take my grandson to see all the animals. Well the petting part was only if the animals are close to the fence, the camel was the only animal that wanted to be pet. The bunnies hutch was occupied by girls that didnt want to leave. The owners and workers were great, and the piece of chocolate was tasty. For an adult to pay 10.00 for a 1/2 hr experience was rediculous, but they did say you could spend all day there.
A fun place for kids to learn about the animals.
LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Fantastic learning experience and delicious chocolates!! The animals are adorable and so well taken care of! Thanks Sugar Plum!!
Total disappointment. Most random thing ever, cages are super small, dirty, water bowls filled with dirt, no shade, all the animals look miserable, overpriced, none of the animals want to be pet because they are all scared, the “free chocolate tasting” is one piece of chocolate the size of a Hershey’s kiss. Do NOT recommend. Xoxo.
Staff was friendly. Selection of Chocolate was very small and very expensive. Petting zoo was kind of a joke because because most of the animals were not accessible.
Amazing! Our bakery did this as a end of year team event and it was the best exp ever! The owner snd the whole staff were amazing.... go. Its a must see. Zeus is my fav!
