The process with Miriam was seamless. Before involving Miriam we had dozens of colors and zero direction. Miriam asked pointed questions, took stock of the decor and lightening, and opened our eyes to color possibilities we would have never otherwise considered. Miriam made one of the more stressful parts of our renovation quite enjoyable, and we couldn’t be happier with the colors running throughout the entire house.

I worked with Miriam on a very high-end job that required a lot of skill and knowledge. I am very picky and hold all those I work with to the highest standard. It wasnt a straightforward job and required a lot of nuanced decisions. Miriam was fantastic! Couldnt have found a better person for the job. Her eye for color, design, and taste is unmatched. We are so pleased with the way our house came out after utilizing her as both a colorist (deciding which colors to utilize), and, for a variety of other things such as her opinion on design, layout, etc. She even painted a table for us as well as painted over a prior mural that looks like it was never even there. Highest recommendation and you wont be sorry you used her services!

We used Miriam to help us re-imagine the way we use the space in our house. She was incredibly helpful in selecting furniture pieces and the color palette for the furniture and walls. We were working on a limited budget and Miriam was able to provide choices that met our budget and look fantastic. We have received many compliments on the new look of our house and we are very pleased with the result. Miriam is very talented at what she does and is also friendly and easy to work with.

There are so many colors and shades of colors; I’m still amazed that Ms. Stern chose JUST the PERFECT ones for every room! Shes also a pro at creating a beautiful photo display wall. For this process, she took into account whats important to me, what I want and like. Ms. Stern did a meticulous job in arranging and hanging up my photos, leading to quite a magnificent effect.

I hired Miriam Stern as my paint consultant for my new construction home. My husband and I painted about 60 samples on various walls and could not agree on a single color. I met with Miriam and instantly had confidence that she would help us out and steer us in the right direction. I found Miriam Stern on Houzz by sheer luck. I had been laboring over color for my deck, screen porch, front door and house trim. We communicated via email and phone. I sent her many pictures and somehow she managed to come up with just the perfect colors and finishes. By chance I asked her if she would take a look at a wall unit I wanted to replace. Honestly she read my mind. I sent her a web site for a furniture company I liked and she came up with the perfect design for my taste. It is such a relief to work with someone who has your best interest at heart. I know I can count on her to give me her best advise while listening to my concerns.Miriam made working long distance easy. Miriam is so talented and precise that distance is a non-issue. Miriam did a great job helping us out with the paint colors for our new home. She listened to our ideas and definitely took the task seriously. House looks great now, so much better than before!My wife was hesitant to hire someone to help us pick colors but we felt pleased with our decision to hire Miriam in the end.The only disclaimer Id add is that the process was more expensive than I thought it would be. Miriam was upfront about her pricing but she did not mention that she charged for the report writing time (it was 30 min and is an understandable charge but I wasnt expecting it). She also took longer in the house than I had expected (2.5 hours i think ) but was not dawdling. Likely it had to do with the size of the house (we were painting every room). Either way it ended up being more than I thought but Id still recommend it and I do recommend Miriam.

We had a dark basement with old-fashioned wood paneling that we hoped, after adding a bathroom, could be brightened to serve as a more welcoming family room/guest room. The only given was the fabric of a futon cover. My husband and I spent so much time debating which color to choose. Should we paint the entire space with one color or use a different color on an accent wall? Which wall should be the accent wall? Do we highlight the structural columns? Which white for the bathroom trim? And then what should we choose for the stairway leading to the basement? After spending yet one more day gazing at a sample board we had painted and groaning about how the color on the wall never matched the small paint chips in the stores, we finally decided to ask for professional help. In one visit, Miriam Stern asked us all the right questions, found just the right colors and offered just the right advice. We think the family room and bathroom look great, including a soft warm purple accent wall that we would never have been able to find on our own and a cream color which does, as Miriam predicted, add lightness without the harshness of a purer white.
