Friendly staff. Mediocre food.Owner responded. Not a bad experience at all. The food was OK. we just felt it was nothing.special I had a chicken dish covered with cheese. Big portion but little taste of.interest. my wife cannot even remember what she.had. wait staff was good. Venue quiet. Surroundings good.
Greens are in great shape. Fairways were rough but they had just overseeded so Im sure they will improve. Back nine was really tough for a hacker like me.Take time to have a bite at the Irish Pub on property. It was very good.
Course needs a lot of love. The Director of golf seemed like he hates his job. Have him read the 7 keys to Disneys success. Loved playing this track back in the day but would not waste my time here again
Had a fun time at Wentworth. The course layout is very challenging and rewards people being very accurate. The course isnt very long 6400 and The slope is 142 from the tips. This course could use a little TLC. The greens have some problems around the edge and the several of the fairways have some goat ranches around the edges. The main part of the fairways looked in good shape, but who plays there? We paid around 28 each for the round and that was definitely a fair price. Ill certainly add Wentworth to the regular rotation, if not only to be able to go to Toulas for breakfast.
Im a local wedding planner and I cant say enough about this venue. I had a wedding there and the staff was all so friendly and helpful. They kept in coonstant communication with everything through the night. I cant wait to work with them again. If your looking for a beautiful venue who goes above and beyond contact them!
The greens were really fast. Tee box were moved forward to let the tee area grow. It really changed the game.
Always a great meal. I didnt expect anything less than perfect them guys are really good at what they do down there.. thank you staff
Great venue for a wedding! The staff members are awesome, there’s a bunch of gorgeous spots for photos, and it’s a unique venue in the Tampa Bay Area. I’ve photographed 2 weddings here and loved it!
Challenging course that is in great shape. The starter is very nice, but the pro shop attendee is as rude as they come. We have played here many times over the years, but will not be returning because of him.
Very good course. Doesn’t drain fast though. A lot of sand traps.
Our Wedding was at the Wentworth Golf Club last November. It was absolutely beautiful! This venue is beautiful and was perfect for my vintage theme. The food was delicious. We had a last minute change and Annette & Alton went above and beyond to make sure everything went perfectly on my big day! Our guests all had a wonderful time and we couldnt be more happy!
Great course layout especially the back nine. Not the best of conditions but the design more than makes up for the conditions.
Nice golf course. Ace golf does a great job with their courses. The Mulligans pub is on point with food and beverages.
Wet, mud soaked, and mostly irritated staff. Plenty of other tracks to play out there. This tricked up links is a housing play disguised as a golf course. A good one to skip
This is a target specific golf course. Meaning that if you do not hit it where you need to that scores will be higher. You will use most of thw clubs in your bag here. Conditions have improved with recent rains.
Very tight fairways great greens
Love this course, would be a 5 star if it was 3 years ago. I do feel like the condition is going downhill. This used to be one of my favorite courses. Still a great place to golf for a decent price.
They just plugged all the fairways. I wish they would have told us when we booked the tee time. They are also charging $7 surcharge if you want to ride alone.
Course was interesting and challenging, however after getting yelled at for my father-in- law not having a collared shirt we were disrespected by saying the members who pay so much money like we could not afford did not appreciate his shirt. I also noticed females in spaghetti strap tank tops and leggings but of course they didnt mind that. Then we ended up leaving with 4 holes to play after our round already reached 5 hours because they were more worried about attire and not pace of play. There were groups fishing for balls while lines formed at the tee box. Overall a poor experience for a private members course.
Played the other day, only the front 9 was open for play. Greens are covered in sand, fairways were pretty awful. This is not typical, Im hopeful itll return to better, usual conditions soon.
Well designed course at a reasonable price. Not pressurized playing round because of overbooking. Greens in great shape, fairways can be a bit wet on some holes if its rained recently. Clubhouse offers full bar and restaurant, pro shop well stocked. Employees have always been friendly and helpful. Friends think its a tight course, Ive always enjoyed the layout. Keep your shots in the fairway or youre going to go through a bunch of balls.
We had lunch at the club house. Believe it or not, they have a great pizza.
Great place except unable to make my delivery to pro shop golf carts blocking access
I’ve been playing golf for 25 years and this is my least favorite course I ever played. Especially for a “country club”. It feels like they didn’t have enough land so they tried to squeeze a golf course in. Tiny greens, extremely narrow, unbelievably poor course design. It’s not aesthetically appealing whatsoever. Not once did I look around and say, wow this is pretty. My playing partners were trying to tell me it was a challenging course. No, it’s not challenging, it’s just poorly designed. Greens were in decent shape but not as good as surrounding courses. Fairways rough and tee boxes were awful. Just an unreasonable amount of bunkers. The risk reward aspect of golf is just way off on this course. Not to mention the extremely slow pace of play, and all the entitled old “country club” members that don’t know what it means to let someone play through. I’m telling you, take your money and go to crescent oaks, lansbrook, or better yet fox hollow. This course is straight trash.
Read both positive and negative reviews on this course, but was able to find a deal on GolfNow for $35 and still over paid. Club opened in 1990 and it looks like they have not had a superintendent since then. Bunkers are mud and clay with rocks and shells (it has not rained in a while here). Fairways are rock hard with little grass and the greens have dead patches and marks everywhere.I never write reviews, but I would have rather spent $70 at decent club than the money I spent here.
Nice course, too many bunkers. Counted 8 on just 1 hole alone. Lot of water hazards also. Toughest course Ive played in quite some time. Shot a 110 and lost at least 6 balls. Price doesnt warrant the condition of the course. Would go back at lees expense. $200.00 for a 4 some. Ive never played a course with as many bunkers.
The course needs a lot of work. Fairways were patchy and greens were very slow. The course is tight so bring extra golf balls if you spray the ball around occasionally.
Great course with awesome leadership
Great layout, great conditions. Challenging course.
The course is reasonably priced - currently in Oct 2019 it’s $15 if you get out after 4pm! The beers are $22 for a six pack of domestics which is reasonable as well. They have a good sized banquet room for weddings and other events - I was out for a charity golf tournament and they had 100+ people in there.
Had dinner at Mulligans pub. Very quiet, good service and food.
I USED to play here quite frequently with friends but wont be doing so after successfully booking a tee time on Tee-Off.com website, i was notified less than 24 hours before my tee time that it was canceled. when i called the course the pro shop manager said they dont cancel tee times so it wasnt there fault and was less than helpful and closer to rude since he tried to rush me off the phone. when i offered to send him the confirmation number to prove my point he said it wouldnt help me anyway and they are booked. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME and go play one of the other 5-6 courses nearby (like seven springs, tarpon woods, or lansbrook off the top of my head) that are actually helpful when you call, except for Crescent Oaks since that is a sister club of theirs.
Hosted our BNI Networking Group Holiday Party at Wentworth last evening. 100% of all the staff went above and beyond for our group of 80. The room decor was perfect thanks to Annette and the food was incredible thanks to Alton and his kitchen staff. Wentworth is a hidden gem right in North Pinellas. Very reasonable rates and the Bar package offers many options which is what we were looking for!Great job Wentworth staff!
The place is lovely but it is made even lovelier by their event planner Annette Tired. If youre planning a wedding or an event you will want to work with Annette. She is knowledgeable she is a real human she hears you she cares about your needs. She is a delightful experience.
The staff are all friendly and professional. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Great spot! Ive photographed a wedding at this location and its a spectacular venue for events.
Very nice course. Too much sand for my liking, but challenging.
The employee at the counter was amazingly courteous, helpful and was very pleasant. We will definitely be going back. Had a great time! They also have an Irish Pub right on location that next time we can enjoy. Love the gated area. Felt safe
Im getting married there and so far they are amazing hosts.
Only did the driving range but nice staff. I showed up in jeans(nice jeans, but still jeans) and they still let me do the range.
Course was in great shape. All employees were very helpful and friendly.
Great course for what you pay.
Good price, pretty great greens
Greens are looking pretty nice. Tighter fairways, demanding good play. Course does retain alot of water when it gets heavy rain, so may have cart path only or 90 degree. Challenging and fun.
Had a great time at the communitys Christmas Party.
This is a very nice golf course with reasonable fees. It was well maintained for the most part. The tee boxes were a little rough but when I played it was the end of season so its expected. There are plenty of challenges throughout the course which kept it exciting. The carts are nice and the irish pub is very traditional.
Excellent course. Hit your balls straight. The water and edges will swallow them up!!
Thank you a great day with friends from Warren, Ohio
Golf course was in poor shape on the greens and near them. But the restaurant food was awesome.
What a great place
Greens were punched, but not too bad. Tee boxes were small and filled with sand (under repair I guess), so not much room to stand. Ranger met us walking off 9th green and said we were backing up the whole course, even though we played in 1 hour and 55 minutes as a foursome. Just puts a bad taste in my mouth. Finished the round in 3 hours and 45 mins, but I guess thats too slow at this place.
Course is in good condition. Bring a few extra balls ss the couse is tight on several holes. Good layout to challenge any player based on which tee box you choose.
Oh my gosh. This was once a great Golf Course. Right now I cant really give it that rating. I dont know how some of these holes were playable when it was once in top shape, but given the minimal attention to Course maintenance that the finances of force now, some of the holes are just ridiculous. the prices are okay, and its a fun day out in the sun, but I dont think Im going to be going back there.
HORRIBLE! Take your money elsewhere. There are much better golf courses in the area with better service. The guy working in the pro shop today was the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with who should not be employed to work with people since he has NO customer service skills AT ALL! Don’t waste your time nor money!
Tough course. The greens are small and challenging. Lots of bunkers and ways to get into trouble.
Had a great time very nice course
Mulligans has great food!
Tough course. Great prices for the quality
Great place to play, nice course, well kept people are very nice!!
Tough trac but worth the price. It will improve your game when uou play somewhere else. Nice friendly staff.
Challenging layout but not very long. Good greens. Best in the area.
Bad conditions.
The worst course I have ever played, it is completely run down course, all the tee boxes were trash and just sand, barely any grass, weeds were everywhere including some greens(well most of the greens were not even worth calling them greens). Complete and ussery waste of $60. Club house looks appealing and that about it.
We were looking into this for a potential wedding venue. Due to our financial situation around the time the odds were not in our favor in that department. The staff were great Annette is the most amazing person we absolutely love her. Hopefully there is something that we can do in the future so that we can work with her again!!!
We had First Communion event for our son this year. Allison, Jessie and Scott were very helpful in setting everything up. We were a little nervous about the venue but the whole management changed few months back and they have a new cook who did excellent job. The reception room is pretty and looked beautiful after we set up decorations. Allison gave us a few hints which worked great. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. We also went for Mothers Day event this year and it was very, very nice with lots of delicious food, sweats, beautifully set up tables etc. I think it was just perfect.
Heard from a co-worker that the course sucked (his words). I called to confirm if in fact the course was in bad shape. The pro shop said that my co-worker must have had a bad round, that is why he stated that the course sucked. He also said that he just played the day before and the course is in tip top shape. Another co-worker called the next day to see what the pro shop would say and he got the same response. Fast forward...we play and the pro shop was not quite telling the truth. The course was NOT in tip top shape! Fairways a little patchy, greens not too bad, but not the greatest.
Great greens. Tough and challenging. Great golf course. Staff is wonderful.
The golf director is a great person and the course is run very smoothly thanks to him
Played here on Sunday 8/25 tee time 10 am. By time we reached the 6th tee box, I counted six 4somes not including ours or the one right behind us, all bunched up, causing the entire round to play agonizingly slow. 4 hours and 45 minutes to complete the round on this short basically mudd and dirt track is unacceptable. I blame the course manager for not reminding or enforcing pace of play as well as over booking. This was not a good golf experience and I will spend my golf money elsewhere. Only reason I gave one star is because you cant give them zero.
Went to wedding and reception at the clubhouse. Beautiful course and area never played golf. Service and reception were great.
Great round of golf would recommend for anyone to play
I paid 22.00 on line, was told when I arrived I had to play the back 9 twice, didnt know that until we got there.they had a league on the front 9 at 2:00. Tees are all sand, layout was quirky, disastrous day.dont bother!
Woooahhh Nelly! Put on your big boy pants for this one! Awesome course, but very challenging! Long par 5s, lots of water on the back 9 and trees line every fairway tightly. Mulligans at the 19th is kick butt, great draft selection, food is yummy and fair priced. Public course, but feels like a private CC. I gave it a FORE and left a dozen balls along the way, too. Tee it up!
Awful. Played behind a foursome that were likely all 30 handicappers, were 3 holes behind the group in front of them. We had to wait on every shot on every hole. Finally had to skip in front of them because they didnt let us play through, that was on #8 because we were already at 2 hrs 15 mins after just 7 holes. That is a total joke. There was a PLAYERS ASSISTANT cart. I wonder what their job is? Sitting in the shade? There were a LOT of sand traps but they were all hard packed dirt, no sand, and no maintenance to loosen the soil. The tee boxes were pretty beat up, all weeds and sand. The low rates obviously invite a lot of hackers who do not care about repairing divots or fixing ball marks, dozens on every hole. Finally, the carts are the worst of any course in the county, besides Cove Cay, torn seats, bald tires, slow speed, grinding and clunking noises. We sure did enjoy the tight challenging design and layout of the course. Thats not enough to bring us back.......
Very nice course. A bit tight so be sure to hit straight. GPS or range finders are good to have. Course booklets describing each home are provided.
Awesome
This course is not as nice as it once was!!! They cut the grass way to short!! Its like hitting out of a sand trap on every shot from the fairwy.
Very nice golf course. A string of holes toward the end of the second nine are very impressive for a course open to the public. Range is lacking (hitting off mats) and a few of the tee boxes need work but fairways are fine, bunkers well-maintained and the greens are in excellent shape. Restaurant is fine - nice space and good pub fare.
Bar staff is exceptional! Course we in pretty good shape.
Was beautiful,,didnt play golf,,just visited Clubhouse and Bar and Restaurant...
Challenging Course, nice clubhouse, carts were nice Yamaha carts. Pub was great too.
Great Winter rates and nice greens. One of the best values in Tampa. Thanks Jesse!
Fun place to play. Beware of lots of short doglegs.
Tons of potential however tee boxes are a disaster, no grass bit tons of sand. Greens roll nicely however the fringes are in terrible shape.
Course is challenging and has decent elevation changes for pinellas county. However the tee boxes are not as well maintained as the greens.
Great golf course and very friendly. Pitcher of beer $12,.50 or draft glass $4.00 a little steep.
First class establishment. They do an amazing job working with you for any event that you or your organization have planned. I have heard many positive things about their golf course and know that they work with many local high schools acting as their home course.
Fairways need more grass. Kind of like hitting off hard pan.
Nice course overall. Greens were in good shape. Somewhat slow play for our round. Guinness on tap in the Irish bar with food available. Will be back
Day of golf was not very good. First we had to wait for golf carts. They simply didn’t have enough for a 12:40 tee time. Talking with a couple other golfers who were waiting this seems to be the norm. Practice range were Matt’s only and no targets to shoot at. Practice greens were not set up similar to the greens on the course. Greens and fairways didn’t roll very well and just weren’t in good shape. I will say the bunkers were set up nice and fair to play out of. Making the turn no one was there to to assist with lunch. Once we finally got someone they only had 1 hotdog ready. Overall not a good experience.
Poor condition with very small greens. Not my favorite.
Fantastic
Dried up greens
I have been here for several social events! I have also had dinner here a few times when they have their Burger special..... It used to be a lot more fun under previous management however its still a nice place to visit
