Staff members were super friendly. I really liked that they showed you how to throw and then let you do your own thing. It is a very independent experience, although if you need help they are more than willing to help out. The experience was fairly priced and they even offer snacks and beer. Everything was also spaced out nicely, so I was not worried about having to try to maintain social distancing. Stumpys is definitely my favorite place to go axe throwing in Florida!

Great time for just two people or a whole group. The owners are so nice and helpful, great beer at a great price, and such a fun atmosphere! We will definitely come back! This is the must go to if you want to throw axes and have a great time!

Based off the google reviews, I decided this would be where Id book a surprise Fathers Day gift for my husband, Father-In-Law, and brother-in-law. Mind you, theyve never done axe throwing before, but by the end of it, they LOVED it and are hooked! They said the employees made the difference, they were welcoming, kind, and informative. Plus the indoor facility was spacious and clean. I went back in February with my boyfriend and had an amazing experience. It was new to both of us and we were taught how to throw and they gave us an hour to have fun. Great environment with super friendly staff. We definitely found a new hobby for both of us! Thank you Stumpys for being a great first experience!

The worker just went above and beyond in helping us. She helped get us started and than gave us our space but always was there to check in on us for our drinks or tips. All in all my favorite axe throwing place!

AWESOME TIME! I recently just hosted my company holiday party with 30 people at Stumpys and it went wonderful. Staff was very helpful and ensured we had everything we needed and the overall feel to the place was so much fun. We were able to bring in our own catering without an issue. I recommend anyone to check out Stumpys even if you dont feel comfortable with throwing an ax they still have games, drinks, and music to listen to do. You wont regret it!

I went to Stumpys with my husband and another couple, not knowing what to expect. What an awesome time we had! They had just reopened the day before following COVID. We were greeted by Marge and she explained all the sanitizing that had been done, and are doing, and how they were complying with social distancing requirements. Brendan, the owner, gave us personal instructions and lessons on how to throw. They also have beer and wine so its a great place to unwind. We will definitely be back.

Great idea for a date night or an outing with friends! We went with another couple and had a blast! The staff is friendly and helpful and Margie showed us the ropes with authority and humor. And remember, if they can see your toes, you don’t get throws!PS- Don’t use Waze for directions, it takes you a back way that doesn’t connect. The entrance is off of Hillsborough.

We came to stumpys for my Birthday and could not have had a better time anywhere else. Brendan and his team did a great job with this location. You had a large group and everyone just chilled, drank and threw some AXES. The smell of fresh cut wood was my favorite. If you need to release some built up anger come throw some AXES. It will help you get it out. Bring a picture to put on the board. Great spot for breakup or divorce parties wink wink. Highly recommended. Come check it out!!

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my two sisters. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will 100% be back to visit. This was a fun team building activity for the three of us. First time axe throwing. What a FREAKING blast!! We went for my mother in laws birthday and had a party of 9. We HIGHLY recommend. Everyone in our group had an amazing time. The owners and staff were so helpful and genuinely sweet people. We will most definitely be going again.

I organized a team event at Stumpys. I had heard from others that axe throwing was really fun. So I thought Id give it a try. Well, It is. We had a blast. Normally, they are not open on Mondays but because we had a large party, they opened just for us. We had the whole place to ourselves. They have a good selection of beer and you could bring food in if youd like to. The women that were working that day were very helpful. They even did some one on one couching so those of us that were having trouble throwing the ax could hit the bull eye!!I would recommend this to others as a fun afternoon.

While moving and finding it hard to have a few moments of fun, this reprieve is a welcomed change from the going out to a bar, movie, or sub-par dinner. Throwing at Stumpy’s hatchet house has been some of the most stress-relieving “hatchet therapy” I could of imagined. The lady’s working were super helpful and upbeat. This was our first time and we will definitely be back. :D

Just finished up two hours of throwing hatchets at Stumpy’s ! It was an absolute blast with Will and Margery they were incredibly helpful assisting with the learning curve and great fun to be around. I highly recommend trying this for a great time and it is something you will definitely want to keep coming back. The ice cold beer is a great addition ! We will be returning quite a bit with more friends for a great time!

If you’re reading this then you are obviously interested in a place to throw axes..then this is your place! We had a blast & left with big smiles & great memories. What a unusual but exhilarating experience!!

So let me be clear that I have known the owners for about 10-11 years and with that they did not ask me to write a review. Cool, now that that’s done, for those of you still reading.. the inside of this establishment is very well done with ambient music throughout the place. This place also offers a variety of adult beverages at a better than average price and is spaced out so that groups of people have enough space and are not tripping over other groups. The only downside for me personally would be the noise a hatchet makes when coming into contact with solid wood planks at a high velocity (this is a personal problem because of personal issues I can’t control). Outside of that this place is spot on from what I could tell. The bathrooms were very clean, which is one of my pet peeves when going to any establishment and the staff was very knowledgeable, happy to help, and most importantly friendly. Regardless of my past with the owners I will drive across Tampa to go again (when it’s not busy) and have some fun because it’s just a friendly and clean place to go and have fun! I might try using the firearm headphones that I have that cancel out loud noises and focus in on voices, but that’s me :-)

First time throwing hatchets - went as a plus one for a holiday party and had a great time! The staff was incredibly hospitable and the venue was everything you’d want it to be. Would totally recommend for a party or date night.

My boyfriend and I had a great time; it’s an excellent workout and activity that pretty much forces you to put your phone away and actually spend time with whomever you’re with (maybe with an exception to take some pictures when you’re hyped about getting a bullseye).Their registers didn’t seem to be cash friendly, so I recommend bringing your credit/debit card.We will definitely be back and are looking forward to a league starting up.

So this was a surprise gem on our trip to Tampa. We threw axes and laughed alot. The super nice lady behind the counter and the keeper of the axes was charming and kind. I didnt tell my GF I grew up throwing things for fun so after my 6th bullseye I saddly stopped ringing the bullseye bell. We spent some time perfecting her axe tossing technique and by the end of the first hour she had rang the bell. Positive she didnt murder me with the axe.

Came here for a work team building event. It was so fun and exilerating! Dan was an awesome instuctor and knew his stuff!! Will come back :)
