Lovely small museum at well preserved historic site. The displays were informative and in great condition. The shotgun Sears Roebuck kit house was well restored. The park ranger was well-informed and led an excellent tour of a typical cigar workers’ house. Volunteers shared the history of Ybor City’s signature Cuban sandwich.
This is a small museum so wont take over an hour. Occasionally, a ranger takes folks on a tour of the garden and the restored casitas (small houses) where cigar workers lived, right on the Museum property.. well worth the 15 minutes.Entry fee is $4. There is a nice park across the street and you can catch the streetcar outside the park.
This park is great. My dogs love it cause they get to play with their friends in a large area but the surroundings have no trash bins.
Its was closed but it look a nice garden and great place to take pictures
This is a hidden gem in downtown Tampa. Many of the locals dont even know it exist. To really get to know Ybor city and its history one should spend an afternoon at this state museum.
Tours on the hour of restored houses from the 1880s, informative exhibits; street parking is available but limited. A steal for $4.
The museum not only educated but inspired me to learn more about the local area that I live in
We love our history, so proud of this museum for educating and preserving what makes Tampa and Ybor City unique.
Loved our visit! Definitely worth the $4 and the hour or so it takes. Learned so much about the history of Ybor City and the Tampa Bay Area. A must visit, in my opinion, if you’re going to be in the area!
Very nice, the folks there make the place. Learned alot about the history of Yubor City and the many peoples that made it. Would recommend parking, using the free trolley to get around. Many restaurants to enjoy a drink and/or food.
Wedding time at the museum
Great community yoga. Famers Market has home made bread!!!
Love this experience and tour of the Shotgun Houses. The roosters were an attraction as well. Will definitely return.
We found the perfect venue to provide the most picture perfect wedding of our dreams. It was everything we wanted and more. PLUS the price..well you cant beat it!!! It takes work to bring in all the vendors but if youre a planner or bride that can knock that out easily to save big bucks, this is a perfect choice. Our photos came out amazing!! Their staff was super helpful too.
Interesting museum and you also get to take a little tour of the original cigar makers homes. I recommend it!
Small museum with very interesting displays and information on the history of Ybor City, including a nicely done 20 minute video. Note that tour of the cigar workers casita are only offered on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., even though the museum itself is open until 5 p.m. We arrived at 3:15 and were sorry to have missed that (as were the several people who arrived after us).
We visited the park on May 13th around 1pm and Park Ranger Jessica was so nice and helpful. We had our 1 year old with us and he just loved Jessica. She showed him different plants and he was fascinated by her voice. Thank you to Jessica and the Ybor Centennial Park Museum for a splendid afternoon.
Loved roosters and Sunday market by locals
Nice will go back for tour and lunch when cooler
Amazing historical place. Magnific if wanna know about Cuban nationality roots
I did a community yoga class through yoga loft here and it was rejuvenating!
This IS a park but it is a city park. There no actually nature except for the most random sightings of roosters. Very clean but mind blowing to see roosters walking around like squirrels.
Very informative if you take the tour.
Went here for my cousins wedding... it was very nice
And they have great yoga in the courtyard every Saturday from 9:30-10:30 donation class sponsored by Yoga Loft
A wonderful history place .....great artifacts
Nice for weddings and receptions check with Petals&Promises for events.
Even people from Tampa had not visited this little but super interesting museum. Ybor City is part of the most interesting history of the Tampa Bay area and the tobacco industry. This museum tells the way thousand of immigrants from Cuba, Italy, Spain, Germsny, Poland and Rumania arrived to this city to improve their lifes and succeed thanks to the tobacco manufacturing; so many cultures all living in harmony.
What a fascinating history. Well worth the visit
