Very beautiful lake good walking. Real good coffee shop named Black dog. Water fountain a lot of benches and tables. Veterans building.
I love the park in the scenery I even love that they have benches for people that have disabilities and need to rest for a little bit is very peaceful I just wish they could put more sod down for the grass areas and have a proper irrigation system so we could make sure Park stays Green.#ADA30ADA of 1990
Watching and feeding the ducks along with the geese and a great place to walk and get exercise, come and check it out.
Beautiful and quaint. Paved pathways for a stroller, but a lot of large bird feces on the path. There are homeless people who sleep on most of the benches and use the public restroom, but they did not bother us.
Great place to take a walk and sip coffee from the Black Dog Cafe!
Beautiful. Peaceful. Convenient. Great place to have a walk or a picnic/lunch (if the weather is right)
Nice. Looking at the ducks and turtles as we walked the track was nice. Pretty fountain in the center of the lake was nice too. The shops at Lake Ella Park are nice as well.
Peaceful, small great place to meet-up without getting lost. A few too many ducks or I would have given five stars.
Nice place for a relaxing evening. I would give 5 stars but they allow smoking.
Always a favorite. My children love feeding the birds- even though youre technically not supposed to. Great atmosphere to get your daily steps in.
Beautiful park near the heart of Tallahassee. Great place to grab some coffee and walk around on a date.
Great spot to relax and have a brisk walk around the lake. One of Tallahassee most loved landmarks and meeting spots. Theres lots to do around here as well. Try out Midtown Caboose just up the hill.
Pleasant walk at the park. Felt good just to get out side in the changing weather. Cute shops along the way for browsing.
Always great to stop by Lake Ella! The parking, the people the ducks and police...all good
Very beautiful.. great place to take pictures.. peaceful..
What else can you say about Lake Ella Park beautiful lake ducks all shapes and sizes and colors since the renovation the lake has become more beautiful the shops foot traffic seems friendlier wow and the ambience off the chain well I can gush about it till the s come home but until you have experienced it for yourself its not the same
Falafel on Wednesday brings me out. Too bad the city removed the coverings where homeless people chilled out. I think this is not a solution. We need to see each other as one human family, and Im sad to see factions around lake Ella and city gov remove the structures
They meed to put the picnic tables back where they took them out. Should be more open to the homeless people rather than the Pokemon freaks
Every mom needs a break, so for us dads, this is a great (free) place to spend an hour or two where you can enjoy yourself, and the kids will have a ball... As long as you have bread... There are a few bench swings, and you can relax and read stories, look out at the water, or even hand feed the ducks and Canadian geese.
Could use some cleanup but very nice to go for a walk
Lake Ella is a very nasty area. It has lots ot liter and debris. It smells and there is an over population of ducks. Be mindful the ducks are highly aggressive.
The park was clean & it did my heart good to see people & families out & enjoying their time. Even wearing mask.
This place is absolutely beautiful. I am working here near Tallahassee and was told by one of the locals that this small lake was great for relaxation. Well needless to say she was right. This place is beautiful and peaceful. It has a tiny sprinkle fountain, a cute little gazebo and a walking trail that circles the entire lake. The most amazing part is the many ducks that walks around freely. There is also a section were people exercise and do yoga. Several benches surrounds the lake and it is extremely neat and clean here. This lake is located directly off the main drag in a beautiful neighborhood with lovely older homes. Please visit soon
My grandkids love the ducks.
Cool park, but wish Black Dog wasnt pro gentrification :/
Really wish there wasnt so many bums/vagrants walking around begging for money and camping out all over the picnic tables near the big oak tree, especially when the Tallahassee Police Department is right next to the park and oughta be patrolling this place often enough to keep this from happening, aside from this, the place is well cared for.
I enjoy the walk around the water on the side walk.
PLEASE STOP feeding the ducks and aquatic life bread! its not good for them or the pond and environment. you can buy pond pellets from Tractor supply or online 40lbs for like $12 (last me 3months and I go feed them regularl). please see pictures. its high in nutritional ingredients for the turtles and fish
Love to go to lake ella. Usually there are families sitting in the grass people playing thier guitars. One man was playing his saxaphone today. All around earthy relaxed vibe. Great place to walk and get a few miles in. Only downside is the duck poop. Just watch your steps.
It was a very relaxing to be there truely lovely loved the ducks
Good green space in the heart of the city. Family and pet friendly environment
Great walking area with some shady areas.
Nice place to hang out with family and to exercise
Its a good place to walk. Ducks will surround you.
Wonderful lake to walk around, I prefer to go here right around sunset. There are tons of ducks and even little baby ducks that you can get pretty close to. Also when going here, a must to check out is the black dog cafe. Excellent coffee served here. With a large lit fountain tain in the middle of the lake and a wonderful sunset in the background this is a relaxing peaceful part of tallahassee and could even be somewhat of a romantic place to take someone you care about (if your new to tallahassee, or just visiting, as most people are familiar with the lake that live in the area)
Its a park. Its free. Lots of people are having fun. You can run or walk or jog about the park circumnavigating the water rife with ducks and water foul of many variations. With little one in tow, we were worried about aggressive ducks but this was nonsense. What a wonderful free local resource. What a nice respite from the world around.
A very pretty walk if you need to stretch your legs
Relaxing park. Lots of ducks and geese. Good New Orleans Snowballs nearby.
Great place to walk and socialize. Has enough space to social Distance
Very friendly, spoke with numerous people. Great place for young, pets, and adults.
Beautiful and peaceful park, ducks so close you could touch them.
Very nice park. Loved the ducks and geese that just roam around. The trees and landscape are beautiful. Had a great time.
Great place to walk and take the dog. And Pokemon Go.
One of Tallahassees gems. Well cared for by the City and always beautiful. Easy .6 mile walk around the lake on a sidewalk. Lady and I love it there!!
This is a nice place for exercise and relaxation
[ ITS BEAUTIFUL
Great to visit to get out of the house and get back into nature.
I give it a two star because of a Hazzard area around the pond needs clearing for all the familys and children even the employers that has to work their esp in the surrounding areas around the waters other than that its great to come once in a while
Beautiful scene with ducks fountain and lake I take my 6 month old every morning there for a walk and she loves it
Pressure wash the sidewalks.. its starting to be over ran by homeless people.
I LOVE stopping by the lake to see all the beautiful birds any chance i can.
More like a pond than a lake, but it is a lovely park near downtown Tallahassee with awesome boutique shops around it. Great place to eat and stroll around!
Located on Monroe Street, across from Sonic. It is an ok. I think it would be better if the City would periodically pressure wash the sidewalks to remove the duck and goose feces. Its accumulation attracts flies, which are bothersome when walking.
First time going it was nice
I always love visiting Lake Ella its really a relaxing place...
It was very nice and relaxing
I have to be honest and say I have a love-hate relationship with Lake Ella Park. I truly love the park, it is my favorite place to go for a walk, especially when it is hot outside because its very shady. A walk around the lake is the perfect distance when I have my children with me. Theres a really cool, huge tree trunk there that my son loves to climb, and lots of pretty areas where you can stop and sit down if you like. I have noticed a lot of homeless or transient people at the park, but they have always been friendly when I talk to them, or keep to themselves. They are in no way a nuisance, but they are present. Ive noticed there are maybe some groups that provide outreach or assistance of some sort at the park for disadvantaged or homeless people, so that may be why they are more present. I dont mean to be at all offensive regarding this, I just wanted to mention it. My only real issue with the park is that it is honestly pretty disgusting sometimes. Theres a huge overpopulation of ducks and geese and they make a huge mess. In the wet weather it was kind of gross because everything was damp and there is duck poop everywhere and it just smelled really bad. I also noticed a decline in the general upkeep of the lake around the same time. So not only were there Ducks everywhere and poop everywhere but there was also a lot of trash on the ground. I really wish the city would do something about the duck problem, or at least just try to keep the place cleaner. The wildlife is part of the appeal of the park, but it was just too much. I was there around mating season and while it is fun to see the baby ducks and geese, it is kind of ridiculous how great their numbers were. I wouldnt suggest going there for lunch that time of year because the geese can be quite pushy. My son sat down with a grilled cheese sandwich one time and we were surrounded within minutes and one of the geese actually started hissing at us. I think Lake Ella is gem of Tallahassee. I see a lot of people there on a regular basis, so I must not be the only one who thinks that. I wish the city would take better care of it, like the beautiful Cascades Park nearby.
What a beautiful place with friendly people all around. The ducks and turtles just add to the atmosphere.
Beautiful park, dog friendly on a leash, on saturday they had local produce for sale and a few crafts tables of different things. Had a great time watching the ducks.
Very nice walk, beautiful landscape, lots of ducks and turtles to see. A few cute, quaint shops around the lake. Picnic areas. I didnt see a playground which would have been nice for the kids to play.
Cute little pond thats easily accessible, just off a busy road. Nice, flat, paved path around it which is good for a walk on a sunny day. Good for families and couples. Theres a few boutique shops around which are good for browsing and passing time. Opening hours for the stores are a little odd, but youll have a nice time here.
Beautiful place for walks, especially when you dont have much time and want to stay among people, with a local coffee house and a handful of small shops, I love going there just for a few loops around the lake.
It is a wonderful place to visit. If you need to go on a peaceful walk, some time to think, or if you are really into PokemonGo, this is the perfect place for you!
Lovely park. Very peaceful.
Such a great place to relax. Nice scenery, lots of ducks and little shops near by to get a treat.
Forgot how nice the park is, even in a cloudy day.
Great place to walk, when its not congested.
Cool shops, tons of pokestops and gyms
Beautiful, joyful, romantic. Cool landscape
BEAUTIFUL. Loved all the ducks, and all the little shops around it
The granddaughters love this place with all the ducks, plus its good exercise for us to walk around the lake.
It is a small lake park but it is good for walkers, joggers and families.
Security at the park was courteous and professional
One of my favorite walking places. Water is relaxing. Lots of hungry ducks.
This is THE best place to hangout in Tallahassee. Feed ducks, meditation, exercise, walk, date ....you name it.
BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL!
Theres a bluegrass band playing for Food Truck Thursday. Chill af.
I really enjoy this park, I love the sounds of the water and all the crickets. Has a bit of a homeless issue and Ive seen very instances of prostitution and drug dealings at night. During the day, its a lovely place to visit. Would recommend.
Nice park! Love to see the people walking their dogs. Fantastic place to catch Pokemon!!
Went there on a business trip and ended up having the most amazing Time ever
Nice place for a walk! They are unique shops and restaurants around the lake to stop and explore. Black Dog Cafe is a great place to stop in for a coffee and a quick bite.
Lovely park to stroll around, plenty of wildlife to admire, pleasant and calming atmosphere, and a plethora of local shops to visit
Beautiful view to watch as the sun set
Great park to take a stroll in. For any Pokemon Go players, it is a Pokestop heaven!
Cool place to vibe
A lovely walk with geese and ducks, bathrooms available as well as food and drink.
One of the most beautiful parks I have ever seen. Truly a gem hidden in the heart of Floridas capital city... Just gorgeous!
Great for walking/ running. Bring bread to feed the non foul waterfowl
Great, clean park. Nice walking path around it. Good amount of wildlife to see such as geese, mallards and herons. There are also some cute shops nearby and a Farmers Market on Saturdays.
Lovely place to go for a walk or run. It is 1 km around the lake. Benches spaced along the walkway for resting or to take a moment and take in the beauty or watch or feed the resident ducks, geese and turtles. Please dont feed the ducks or geese bread as it does more harm than good. There are also shops along the north side of the lake that sell wonderful things. There is also a public restroom facility on the south side of the lake. Overall, a great place to visit.
We LOVE Lake Ella Park! My daddy used to hang out here when he was a kid, I used to feed the ducks here and climb the Old Oak when I was a kid, and now my kids play here and do the same thing. This park is a Tallahassee Gem. Its got the classic southern scenery, and is a perfect little family outing spot for picnics and getting the kids plenty of physical activity.
Its a cool place to walk around. It can get smelly if I remember correctly from all the ducks and I think geese as well. Its kind of neat to see them swim and land in as they drag their feet across the water in a sort of swooping manner. Id imagine this pattern is what inspired skydivers to do this when landing, at least the dragging ones feet across the ground for fast landings and swooping.
